In the 50's and 60's these were used for 4 colour process work, they had a very early model (just post war) at the place I worked at, then they bought a later model, These were the top machines of their day, Arthur
i'm very sad, Beacasue My work's Heidelberg SSB was too old and worn ! They will replace it for new Sawna 820 SE Diecut Machine. I'm deaf, working for 25 years. It was best performance and go high faster but NO Problems for faster, 2 millions sheets for 2 up, use for hospital folders files, per every 3 months. I was very harder work, Phew !!
Question I saw once in a Envelope co this split-open Heidelberg press where the pressman can open half of press steps in does any adjustments on the inside of press then steps out of press taps a button closes other half it runs 3 colors ink and one front unit for the tints inside printing. Any guess on the type?
Im just learning to use one of these and need help please. my creases are cracking really bad, so i have to back the pressure right off, remove all packing sheets from under the chase plate and then pack behind all the knife cuts with shimm tape. This is a pain in the ass. Is there any thing i could do??
@sdennis790 I'm not an expert at diecutting/creasing but here goes: The creasing rule needs to be shorter than the cutting rule by at least the thickness of the paper, i.e. <=.900 for .018" thick paper with .918 cutting rule. The rules running around the cylinder (rather than across) should be about .005" shorter since they hit harder, .895" for the above example. You may have to shave the matrix down a fair bit where the rule still hits too hard. Hope this helps...
@sdennis790 I'm Deaf from Western Australian, Yes, I'm Diecut and scoring Experter, I working Heidelberg SSB, You need a one old Plastic black Plate from Heildelberg printing machine "MO" Under your diecut's chase and cutting rule is 22mm and scoring rule is 23.75mm, and I think about 2 sheets of .005" Maybe, I will check it at work. Jacket steel is 8". I'm not sure I will check it at work. See you later

is this a full color press or 1 color?
goodfellazevents 3 years ago
1 color if you want 2, 3 or 4 colors then you change the ink and send the stock through again and repeat
