They should have taken the $850B and divided it up into $50,000 salaries to do whatever. Those people would have paid thier bills, kept their houses and bought appliances, cars, etc. and employed others. The feds., the states, the cities could have collected their taxes.

I don't understand why many Republicans are suddenly depicting themselves as fiscal conservatives, concerned about the economy. What were they doing the first six years of Bush's presidency? Borrowing and spending and moving from a balanced budget to the fastest-growing national debt in history. It's a little late to sound the alarm.

How about just obeying the Constitution on monetary policies the Constitution calls for only Gold & Silver as currencies but the Federal Reserve bank stole the metals and replaced them with phony counterfeit PAPER MONEY AND THE AMERICANS NEVER KNEW IT WAS WORTHLESS.

Now they are trying to pull a new system of counterfeiting and I hope people demand Constitutional Money not Fake dollar bill Printed on a printer
