  • *beats Barba*

    Win.

    *falls in lava pit*

    EFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • My childhood...:)

  • Gee, I wonder why is Life Level is 8 on Thunderbird, but the level is 7 in Shadow Link...

  • @CaptainWolfy99 You're the second one to notice that. I recorded these out of order and on different play-throughs. I decided to go with the legit Shadow Link fight which was from a different file. Though in retrospect I should have spent a few more attempts at Horsehead... lol.

  • What about gannon? btw you get hit way too much. Just use the downward stab on shaddow link.

  • ...I think i skipped the 3rd boss on accient :(

  • @PurpleParrotLover @jumpropman or whatever his name is, he has it

  • thunderbird is the hell *_*

  • 3:40 OMG!! IS VOLVAGIA!!!

  • I love the boss battle music for palaces 1-6. Too bad I can't find it anywhere on YouTube! :(

  • 6:17 let's have a staring contest!

  • Lol 4:00. you got lucked out.

  • @BeautyBoy...why does this game get a bad reputation? I thought it was a unique LOZ game in my opinion because it is a mix of the overview and side scrolling fun (sarcasm) sure it was a hard game! But beating it all the way through is so rewarding...I think this is a very underrated Zelda game that gets no love :(

  • what does the number below the name of your character mean in the title screen?

  • So glad they ditched this style of gameplay. I probably would've never gotten into Zelda if Link's Awakening was anything like this.

  • helemt head = MULTDICAPITAION!

  • I luv dis game.

  • i am error

  • Where did you get those heart containers?

  • Downstabbing Barba us a VERY good way to lose lives, but I see it worked for you.

  • @Z28Racer Yeah, I knew how risky it was, but it managed to work out :P

  • @AlderDragon Downstabbing Barba is actually best for me, as long as you get a running start you'll jump high enough to keep stabbing it as opposed to falling through it and getting hit

  • im stuck at 2nd temple of game its so hard for me im not even at boss yet T_T

  • links shadow was always so fucked, i could never beat him

  • Crap! All of the bosses are wearing suicide vests!

  • U suck

  • 3:26...I totally exploited that glitch, glad I wasn't the only one!

  • To Gooma nuts final hit

  • @2011backagain Cool. I'm sure your 3 subscribers agree with you. I was playing using the keyboard, you know? Took a while to get used to.

  • @AlderDragon ooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooh!!!!!!!!!

  • @AlderDragon Well he has a point, kind of. Play the japanese version and you are going to get creamed. Well anyone would, really, but you especially..xD.

  • reflect will not only refelct spells but increase ur shield so that in can take hits from gooma and even the dragons fire..

  • on horse head, every time i damage him in the head, i would yell "BOOM HEADSHOT!" :D good memories

  • Dark Link is done in no time by just standing in a corner using low attacks :/

  • I don't care what anybody says. Best and hardest zelda game ever. I couldn't even read english back then so i lot of things i had to ask my mother what i ment. I could never finish the game until about 10 years later, but still needed a walkthrough for the hidden village.

  • If I killed Thunderbird and got a gameover at the hands of Shadow Link, what happens? Would I have to kill Thunderbird again?

  • @Onilink117 I'm pretty certain that you don't have to, you'd have to just fight Shadow Link again.

  • That technique you use for Barba looks too dangerous to me. I normally do use the downward stab, though, on Helmethead. It makes him a cinch. Not as much as Carock, though. Anyone who can't beat him has no business playing video games.

  • I love this game but it's pretty hard for a Zelda ^^"

  • I used to really hate the 3rd boss

  • lol barba? no thats vovagia, just like from OoT :D

  • @pikachu6598 Barba was his original name.

  • @pikachu6598 Barba was the original name (as you'll see from strategy guides from the 80s), I think the "volvagia" terminology came when this game was rereleased on the gamecube on the collector's disk, the player's guide for that screwed up a lot of the names (and had some horrible errors too).

  • @AlderDragon In japanese Barba was called Volvagia already. Barba was a translation error. I'm really sure they are the same dragon

  • Comment removed

  • @AlderDragon Actually, that's a bit backwards. Barba is a mis-translation of the original name, Volvagia(pronounced in Japanese as Barubajia). The Player's Guide for the Collector's Edition simply fixed that mistake by referring to it by it's properly translated name.

  • @GenesisSanctuary Thanks for the clarification :)

  • @AlderDragon No problem.;)

  • i love the link vs shadow link stare down @ 6:17 ,,, 8 bit epicness at its best

  • @lo247365 I didn't even realize how awesome it was until someone pointed it out. It even goes with the battle music. :D

  • @AlderDragon ,and the swords swings before starting up again was the icing on the cake,,,wont find a moment like that to many times in one life time, thanx for that

  • @lo247365 I know right? That was epic. >:]

  • Thunderbird is very hard for me. It's because I keep jumping over his gem on accident, and I keep getting hit.

  • @TheDreamingHawk Activate the Jump Spell and the Shield Spell if you still have enough Magic after using the Thunder Spell. He took two tries for me. Just conserve a lot of Magic. There are Magic Vials that you can get before Thunderbird.

  • Holy shit I forgot how lame this game was. How did they go from zelda 1 to this?

  • why did you go from 8 life to 7 life from the 2nd to last boss to the final boss?

  • @jkasdfjklasdfljk The recordings weren't all from the same play through.

  • 5:30 Retro epicness!

  • Third boss is way too hard if you activate jump before the fight.

  • level 4 boss realy easy:P

  • 23 people were massacred by the bosses

  • I enjoyed the last battle quite a bit - pretty epic.

  • This is hands down the hardest Zelda game ever created lol

  • @Eyesonme805 i gree,im grown and still have problems, even though i lost the gm on nes i am playing on the 3ds using the ambassodor program and good thing for infinite continues

  • dont die dawg

  • Stopped watching halfway through your pathetic attempt at horsehead.

  • Hmm, didn't break the game proper. I always max out sword to the utter highest level. The rest of the game becomes easy mode after that.

  • @DavetzWin I love the puzzles :]

  • @DavetzWin so ur saying that Zelda should be constant bosses? how boring would that be! constant bosses = no veriaty and a bored me.

  • @SuperSupermanX1999

Not really, I'm saying it should be like Zelda 2 as a whole, more action focused.

Keys and switches are enough, but new Zelda games are basically 100% puzzle games with no challenge and boring combat.

I want them to be like Zelda 2 again in their combat, this is one of the best combat systems in the series!

  • @DavetzWin I think A Link to the Past was the best in the series. In every regard. Great challenge, perfect mix of puzzles + difficult dungeons/bosses, great combat system, huge array of weapons and items..

  • @AlderDragon

ALTTP is awesome, it had a perfect balance of puzzles and challenge, you are right in that (and the bosses were awesome and played like an action game, not a "hit this place three times with this item" puzzle thing like they do now)

But there is something magical about Zelda 2... in Zelda 2 every enemy is a challenge, like those damn orange knights!

  • @DavetzWin like wand of gamelon and the faces of evil?

  • @DavetzWin

Hell yeah, man--I agree. Who the hell wants to play a video game from a bird's eye view?

  • @DavetzWin Zelda with Mario Style (Lineal 2d) Suckz Ballz, this game is regular.

  • 5:18 and onwards is the prime example of an awesome enemy A.I

For a NES game, that was pretty nice. Not to mention tough.

  • zelda es lo mejor del mundo!!!!!

  • wow link's shadow is so cheap lol

  • 4:th boss Hardest of them all!

  • The first Zelda game I ever played. It's what got me addicted to the series.

  • 6:17 staring contest!

  • I want nintendo to remake this game to the 3ds lineup this is my favorite game!!!

  • thunderbird is a beast!!!!

  • @Fellj1801 Really? Go play Silent Service, I dare you.

  • @AlderDragon Wow, I just bought that game today at a flea market for 1$ xD its that bad (i havent played it yet)

  • @AlderDragon I loved Silent Service... :X

  • @Fellj1801 It's hardly a terrible game. It's just that it's probably the worst in a series of games that are known for being absolutely stellar, not counting the atrocious CD-I games.

  • @JanusHoW At least the CD-I weren't actually MADE by nintendo, right? Some third party... Phillips, wasn't it? They just recieved permission to use the name... I believe thats how it went...

  • @Fellj1801 you never heard of the cd-i haven't you?

  • @Fellj1801 really? one of the best selling nes games is the worst?

  • @Fellj1801 HOW DARE YOU! The Zelda series is a series of awesome! The only ones that failed were from the CD-I.

  • I have always loved the boss music on this game For it to be for an NES game, it sounds epic to me!

  • lol epic final boss ending

  • lol dark Link just falls off the screen

  • This is by far the hardest zelda game

  • triforce... looks like this? ▲

  • omg, you're the first person i've seen beat link's shadow without ducking at the left corner of the screen and mashing the attack button

  • seems like megaman a bit :)

  • Pfft i sucked- i could only get up to the 2nd boss.

  • But I played this game online, right after playing "Ghosts n' Goblins", and it's definitely not the hardest lol

  • @TheOpinionatedPerson Yeah! There are WAY harder games, GnG is definitely a tough one.

  • I think using "jump" on Thunderbird only makes him harder, cause it's harder to avoid hitting his fireballs.

  • To this day, still the world's hardest god damn video game...

  • most of these bosses look exactly the same...... and very easy

  • thats the most hardest game EVER

  • 15 people couldn't get past Horsehead.

  • At the "glitch" at 3:25- Looks like every 5 seconds in P.O.W. for the NES =(

  • What happen after killing the last bass? Get the girl and go happy?

  • Remember boys and girls......DOWNTHRUST IS YOUR FUCKING FRIEND!!!O.O

  • i remember when i wwas little all confused why i would get stuck in the middle of the ocean as the fairy!!!!

was able to get to the end but couldn't get through the last palace..so i had to use the game genie for that..i still have the game saved on my cartridge after 20 years

  • Props for not using the cheap "hide in the corner" trick on dark link

  • @AbyssBlur A ninja is an poor term for that demon .__.

  • Heh, some close calls there but that makes it more interesting.

  • Woooaaahh, those bosses look so hard :/

  • @Harnikawa , They are more than they look. Trust me

  • last boss was the hardest at least for me

  • Wow!

    Respect man.

Some close calls there. Dark Link was intense.

I never could finish this game as a 4 year old. xD

  • im going to buy this game on the wii.. virtual console thingy you know.. but helmethead is difficult, i think

  • Easily one of my favorite games of all time.

  • Link´s shadow is one of the most difficult and annoying final bosses I have ever fought!

  • You defo picked the hard option on killing the shadow!

  • I didnt think this video was vary good... untill you got to Shadow Link

THANK YOU for not fighting like a cheater!!! :D

  • 2:45 but look a monkey?! brentalfloss genius

  • anyone notice that the first 3 bosses have to do with body parts for some reason? look: Horse Head Helmet Head Iron Knuckle

put 'em together and you get: KNUCKLE HEAD! subliminal message O.o

  • @Elijahbabyluigifan Yes, definitely not a coincidence!

  • Men, carock was the most difficult boss I saw in my life! xD

  • Could do with a remake, taking inspiration from the graphical stylings of Zelda: Four Swords on the Gamecube. Maybe then Zelda II might be looked upon more kindly than dismissed all the time.

  • Just be glad they saw to it that this game was under no circumstances unfinishable. Which means:

You will finish this game. No exceptions.

  • It helps if you have the downward slice prior to the Helmethead battle.

  • I kill those sanaba bitches in 10 sec.

  • link shadow, just go to left corner and couch and press the attack button. That's it.

  • @MrBlutos i agree

  • Oh well , thanks for all your help.

  • How did you get this video uploaded using VirtuaNES? I've tried several times but no luck.

  • @00yellowfish It's been a while, I can't really remember. I do remember that there was some recording feature with the emulator.

  • Your approach to Barba is all wrong!! It's better to use upward thrust on him

  • those stats by 2nd boss...hmmm...game genie me thinks.

  • @Jeffemano Nope. I played through the game on an emulator, but didn't cheat in any way. If I would I would have just made it all 8-8-8 :P

  • @AlderDragon why is there a dark link in this game and where is ganon

  • @AlderDragon still, save states do make the game a hell of a lot easier than it was back in the day on nes

  • @TheImmortalcode I consider save states cheating. I didn't use them. You'll just have to take my word on that ;)

  • @deetroitgrrl you really tho he beat darklink without loking you gotta be idiot , another control could of been plug while the camera moves from him or could be a video its easy too make such things plus it was beaten the cheap way so....yeah if it was the power glove link would be doing crazy shit lol

  • Why not use the upward stab ?

  • Shadow Link = Pure Epicness.

  • ah, the days when the Zelda series didn't seem so cheesy.

  • This game was alot of fun and a part of my childhood. They don't make games like this anymore or of this good of quality. Was a bit difficult to beat but takes time and patience. Zelda games should be real hard makes them more challenging.

  • @jh15116 Yeah I agree, this game was a perfect blend of challenge and simplicity.

  • @jh15116 Yes, making them hard does in fact make them more challenging. J/K

  • Shadow link is hardest boss ever!!

  • Credit for fighting Links shadow the real way, instead of just camping in the corner :)

  • SECRET TO HORSEHEAD: just stand there and wait for him to walk toward you. when he's about to touch you, jump and hit him with the sword. He will take dmage, get knocked back, and start to walk toward you again. rinse and repeat.

  • you sucked at Link´s shadow. nice vid thou

  • @deetroitgrrl Actually Mattel made the Power Glove.

  • lol wow also did anyone notice most of these bosses end up as reg. chars in other zeldas

  • oh yea

P.S. link isnt suppose to be able to jump XD

  • was this zelda any good? its like only one i never had or played and i know its kinda diff. from first zelda

  • Damn. You beat Dark Link w/o being cheap? I didn't think that was possible.

  • @JakesVids97 i beat him like he does but faster lol and he not that hard beat this game like 8 times from start too finish dont see how ppl complain this is hard game i mean it could be some areas or just the fact you get trown too beginning if you get a game over but its not that bad. i love this game

  • The first boss happens to be a horse! Of Course!

  • Wow, it seems like pretty much all the bosses in this game made a much more concentrated effort to be an asshole than the bosses in the original Zelda game.

  • 7:48 Yoda!!!

  • by the skin of your sack with ol thurnderbird there

  • you gotta downward thrust his ass!

  • shadow link is annoying!!!
