  • wish i would have been there when he was spitting this in the booth.

  • damn, this shit really gets me iv listened to it over 100 times and i still cry everytime. This is almost the story of my life my real dad died a month after i was born i was almost self raised until my mom met my stepdad and it changed my life completly but now he has cancer and i can barely stand to see him or my mom to see how hurt she is or see the pain on his face hes trying to fight but a voice in my head tells me he wont this song is one of the only ways i can fall asleep at night

    15 yrs

  • my dad was abusive to my moms. when she left him i held my mom responsible for messing up my life, and when she met my step dad i hated him, then i saw how happy he made her. and how he said he'll never hurt her. they got married 2 years and my life is sick now, he took me out the hood and i love him with all my life

  • Really Deep ! Great job vinnie! to bad ! :(

  • if you listen the whole song, you can't say you didn't feel thrills.

  • bring this song to the society and no one blames hip hop but mainstream-rappers.

  • deep lyrical shit...

  • And to the retard that say "this is another poor me rapper" your a fucking moron..he's just making a tribute to his stepfather dumb fuck!

  • Vinnie paz is the man!

    Every song have a story!

  • vinnie is realy real... every song tells a story... these beats...

  • hahahahahahahahhahaha this is fuciking retarded!!!

    Worst song ever...

    I agree with Fetmabebis.

This is just another fucking retard.

  • @elasticbandgun bitch you trippin?

  • @fetmabebis

    nigga you best be trolling

keep on movin' on by vinnie.... and shut upt

  • @fetmabebis Your a fucking idiot. This is him talking about his life and the lyrics are put together perfectly. Yeah "he has no idea to build sentences", let's see you write a song fucking illiterate prick.

  • @miniharrison37 I've never said I can. Fact remains, this is shit. This rapper also wrote a rap song about his life /watch?v=VA8hzUDXvtk

    Yeah, tiny bit better?..

  • @fetmabebis Im not saying this is the absolute best song either, but Vinnie still has a story and is expressing it and their is just no point of hating on it. Yeah granted that link you showed is pretty good, people have stories that they rap, and people like you and me have opinions on the greatness of songs. I think Vinnie is better, my opinion, but you can not say he doesn't know how to build sentences that is an extreme under exaggeration.

  • @fetmabebis Then you dont know what real rap is!!!!!

  • @popop472 Tell me what real rap is?

  • @fetmabebis Something that actually conveys a feeling. This just follows the same patterns as every rap song. Same beats, same voice, same flow, same lyrics. This isn't innovative in any way.

Real rap is something new and groundbreaking. Take The Streets, Movits, George Watsky, Sage Francis and Ninja High School. Those bands/artists have got their own styles.

  • @fetmabebis

dude how do u mix humor into a song about his stepdad dying, and the emotions he went through, mixed with his father died before that, "same story, different pen" theres different styles of rap, eminem made his career of telling stories, immortal technique is extremely similar type of rapper

  • @jmac0031 /watch?v=ygzSXn3oxKU

I'm not dissing the story telling. I listen to eminem's first 2 albums a lot. The rapper I just posted tells a lot of stories in his lyrics. But just because this rapper does it, it don't mean he's good at it.

  • @fetmabebis Yeah man, I hope you mean Infinite and SSLP and not SSLP and MMLP.

  • @fetmabebis And btw your original comment wasn't needed at all, I guess you can't relate to what he's saying. Stop being such a troll, because you clearly have a basic grasp of 'real rap'. LOL don't tell me you posted a song by the streets, now I know you're a troll. You think the streets are real hip hop? Holy fuck man, I bet the streets even think Vinnie is better.

  • @Ostrasize MIke Skinner is one of the greatest poets that'll ever live, and I never said it was Hip-Hop (Even though I think it is), I just said he's a great rapper. Hip hop is all about expressing yourself, and finding your own creative way of doing that. This rapper clearly hasn't, since this has been done billions of times before. Take the Streets or Movits!. You'd probably not call any of those gropus/artist hip hop. BUt just because they ain't mainstream, doesn't mean they ain't hip hop.

  • @fetmabebis Streets have so many shitty tracks it's not even funny, how could you call him one of the greatest poets? Because he has a 'deep' song that you like? And you're judging Vinnie on one song 'This rapper clearly hasn't, since this has been done billions of times before' And I've listened to a decent amount of Mike Skinner songs, and he's nowhere near Vinnie's level. If this has been done a million times, then so has that mediocre song you posted :).

  • @Ostrasize I've listened to some Paz tracks now. What's the difference between him and anything else?

And yeah, Skinner has a deep song. All his songs are deep!

When a person tries to be deep, he's clearly not. You can hear that. That is, for instance, one of the things I don't like about this song. Skinner just writes whatever comes to him. Instead of using 1000 metaphors, you can try to figure out the message, by listening to the whole song, isntead of just some sentences.

  • @fetmabebis No, all his songs aren't deep. He's a failed 2pac or Immortal Technique. Metaphors are a part of a good rap song, not just mumbling about what's happening and barely rhyming ( Mike Skinner ).

  • @Ostrasize I just told you, he tells storys, that he, instead of creating a lot of tiny metaphors, creates big ones, using the whole page of lyrics, instead of just a line of it. And of course he's using metaphors, but not in the same way. He uses them discretely. The fact that you think he's just rapping about things that are happening makes me realize you know nothing about poetry. Read his lyrics, and find all the tiny, well-disguised lines that that just make you go "Aaah, I understand!"

  • finnaly someone that does rap with emotion<3

  • Damn, when vinnie does emotional songs he's just a lyrical genius. Razorblade salvation, black winter day, before the great collapse, this song

  • we shouldent be killing eash other we should be fighting to take out crippling diseases that tear familly apart..

    big up pazzzzzzzzzzz

  • I love how people say rap just causes violence and makes kids do bad things but after reading all these comments those people are clearly 100% wrong. i wish more people could listen to and see this kind of music the way we do. REAL

  • Hey, im an underground artist and i need a story idea...

    answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AsMMCUmM8HtGmfD5QV3uhMLsy6IX;_ylv=3?qid=20110424112353AAW6Fjr

  • brought tears to my eye because i lost my father to cancer, thanks for this song vinnie

  • n1.

  • This man just told my story. My dad died when i was one, and now my mom found a bf that i love and i hope he sticks around.

  • I want to give a reaction but no idea what to write down.

    Its so amazing.

  • He tocuhes so many lives, so many topics but you won't see Vinnie on TV because he doesn't look the part. People are fucking brainwashed by sexual puppets. You need to look like them, dress like them, sound like them or you're nothing.

  • wow.... thats all i can say really

  • vinnie is the man.

  • 3 people just died..

  • THE HOOKS FUCKING ARDDDDD

    TUNES OVER ARDDDD !!!!!!!!!!

  • lyrically amazing. lifts ur spirits when your feelin down.

  • perfect song..emotions just waked up

  • big respects paz....... ur really one of da realist

  • 1people who had no brain :D

  • i dont know why but 1:14-1:35 is just soothing..

  • one of the best songs of vinnie

  • This Is really deep, Can't stop hitting that replay button.

  • deep

  • I think I'm killing the replay button, vinnie P really hits the spot when he goes down emotional avenue

  • this kinda rap, the emotional non gangsta bullshit about how many mofos you've killed is what rap not is, but should be.

  • oh god.. this track is so... aaaahh :(

  • Lyrically one of the deepest songs in not just rap history, but music in general. This shit could NEVER be found in the mainstream

  • @1llmatik94 What's deep about it?

  • @fetmabebis Just hush, what's not deep about it? -__-

  • @DanielDanij2010 It's just a man whining. What does he really want to say? He just wants to sound deep. He's got nothing important to say, so he hides it behind some bad metaphors and some nonsense sentences.

The Streets, Sage Francis and George Watsky. That's deep.

People who try to be deep are never deep. That goes for this rapper as well.

  • @fetmabebis He's putting down how he really feels about a situation and how it affected his life on a sheet of paper and then reciting it...last time I checked that's deep anyways, even if the writer doesn't have much skill...which in this case is not true at all. It gets old seeing naysayers spew shit about someone's choice of expression...Let him tell his story and let people relate to it. Not everyone gives a shit about George watsky or whatever that is

  • @0000jos0000 It's not deep to write a song in which all he's trying to say is "feel sorry". He tries to sound deep, but fails miserably. The lyrics are exremely boring. He just follows the same pattern throughout the song. >There is no simplicity, irony, humour or perspective. And when I say humour I don't mean actual jokes. It goes hand in hand with irony and perspective.

  • @fetmabebis Writing something deep doesn't mean the writer has to use any of that. ...You're acting like everyone should do things the way you think they should be done... everyone struggles. People of all different backgrounds who have different styles of writing. He wrote about his struggle with the loss of his stepdad...that's deep. and who says that he has to write the way you think he should to be great? A lot of people relate to this song and think it's deep if you take a look below.

  • @0000jos0000 Well, a lot of people listen to Britney Spears, so I wouldn't say that it's good just because a lot of people like it.

I'm just saying, that the lyrics are very... monotonous, if you know what I mean. Lyrics aren't deep just because they are written about a sad event.

"Y'all were together twelve years, never no fights

Not even a little argument, that was so nice"

Take that part for instance. "That was so nice" sounds really bad, but he uses it just to make it rhyme.

  • @fetmabebis What does he really want to say! He's telling a real story and it's a great song and he tells it in a great way...u must be deaf but if u don't understand the lyrics he's saying that his stepdad was good for his mom and that he misses him that's what ''he wanted to say'' and he can't talk about 'important' stuff every song but he's got songs for u too if u meant important like talking about society or goverment or slaves in china and stuff...and think before u talk next time

  • @Bredemann100

First of all it's extremely poorly written. Listen to a The Streets song if you want to hear an example of how good sentences are built.

Second of all it doesn't say much. It hasn't really got a message. He doesn't really have anything to say. He doesn't talk much about his own feelings, or how this affects the society. Good lyrics should include at least one of those 2. These lyrics don't. He's just stating things.

  • @fetmabebis poorly written, No .. if u wanna promote the streets go to a lil wayne video or something but u don't like it , ok...but a song isn't bad just because it's not made the way you think a song should be made i hope u understand that someday

  • @Bredemann100 Well, it's a mainstream song. So I think I can say it's kinda bad. And I know, it ain't getting played on the radio, but it's still built just like any american radio hit... and why would I promote the Streets on a Lil Wayne vid. The Streets is a one-of-a-kind rapper who was first with his thing. His lyrics are amazing, and he has never followed the mainstreamed media. Lil Wayne has. So I don't understand how you make that connection...

  • @fetmabebis because there's more people viewing a lil wayne vid so more people would see you promoting them get it? and this is not built like a mainstream song and if u don't like this song then just go don't stay here just to hate on it and to promote the streets and don't write to me again i'm getting tired of anwering

  • @Bredemann100 Ah, fair enough. I'm not here to represent someone though...

It's very much built like a mainstream song. An 808 built:

    A catchy Chorus

    Rap verse

    another catchy chorus

    Rap verse.

    A final very catchy chorus.

    Outro.

The chords used are also the most commonly used chords for mainstream music.

  • @fetmabebis Dont chat breeze, dont try to act like the streets are some sort of underground hip hop kids. In the UK hip hop scene they are more commercial and mainstream than vinnie is in america. You dont have a clue

  • @camboy9 First of all The Streets is one person

Second of all... I told you he became famous without following the usual mainstream music patterns. He became popular cause he did a completely new thing, and I respect him very much for that. Vinnie Paz does nothing different than the mainstream rappers out there. He's just the same. The only exception is that he isn't famous.

When I first started listening to indie music all that mattered was if the artist was famous. That's not how it is.

  • @fetmabebis They are a collective you faggot it isnt just mike skinner. No he is not the same, you clearly have never listened to jedi mind tricks, listen to their first album and tell me that is the same as mainstream music, he has been spitting about conspiracy theories and science since the beginning, then tell me he is just the same as any other rapper.

  • @camboy9 The Streets is a project. The only formal member is Mike Skinner.

Alright, he has the balls to complain about stuff. That don't make it non-mainstream. Look at Green Day. They have a lot of pretty controversial songs, but I'd still say it's a mainstream band. Problem?

  • Vinnie Paz
