I never thought I would say this, but I think that the one on my left, (your right), resonates TOO long. The ding of the left one, combined with the softness and overtones of the right one, would make an awesome combination.
Both are gorgeous! The right one (for me) sounds more "pure", clear, maybe more like your others instruments. Well, that's what i feel when i listen to the vids. I like too the left one as it is sooo resonant. But i guess it depends also on the playing style, fast or slow for example. Through the vid, i would say i prefer the right one, but hey, maybe if i could try both i would pick up the left one! I hope i will try them soon to tell you from direct experience, if i can help ;). Nice job!
Ok, so first i prefered the one on the left (your right) but tje more i listen the more i appreciate the soft blending sound of the one on the right although i think the perfect match would be the one on the right with the sound of the ding (or central note if you prefer to call it like that) of the left ... Do you still follow ? :-) They are both gorgeous though
@Lepercurtidoo yeah, i am. yes the ding from the left of me would fit the right one perfectly and the highest C note aswell.
Well, Anton Anvari is claiming to have real pressure on his years from the one like right to me and he is coming to get the other one tomorrow. he has sensible ears and he plays way resonantly.
I like the one on my right (your left). It seems softer, with less sustain, bleeding into the other notes. None the less, I would give my first born for either one....in person of course.
They are both quite lovely! The one (visibly) on the right sounds more crisp. It sounds more Hang-like, & refined. The one on the left seems to sustain longer and the notes blending together seem to give it a unique sound. I definitely prefer the one that I see on the right (from the video).
Its hard to really tell from here, I have listened to this video with my studio monitors, head phones and on a crappy system too and my pick is the one on (your left my right). I feel the other with its longer resonance crosses over into the other notes a little takes away from the individual notes. In doing this dose not sound as sweet. Thats what im picking up from this end of the computer anyway. I feel its hard not being right next to them though.
@ppaappoo12 if we speak about isolation than they both have very good isolated notes, but the one on the right has more coupling of the overtone aswell they are much stronger, and the sound is softer. thanks. so many different tastes. i think i will fo both variations.
One of my subscribers referred me to you because of my disastrous "How Not To Make A Hang Drum" videos, in which I try to make a hang drum out of a wok.
... but aside of comparisons, I think they are both magnificent and would love either with all my heart :) Congratulations on this wonderful sound model, Victor!
It's a very interesting comparison! I'm amazed that facing a different side of the sheet up can make a noticeable difference. The one on Victor's right does seem slightly more resonant / longer sustain of partials, but I also think I hear the impact sound of the finger slaps more than the other. The one on Victor's left is more soft to my ears through the video. Maybe this is just subtle differences in the strength of the finger strikes. I notice it most between 0:49 to 1:00
The right one sounds slightlymore bass heavy, more emphasis on the fundamental, the tones more isolated, the right one sounds more airy, more interplay between tone fields, I prefer the right one myself, more hypnotic :)
Слышно разницу. я грешным делом принял за 2 разных строя. тот, что у тебя под левую руку интересней, звук объемней через видео. под правой рукой дребежжит слишком сильно. Я правильно понимаю, что тот, что под левой рукой 0 новее?)

@vltanzmeister that's VERY interesting ! So now it's pretty obvious which one i would choose ;-)

@vltanzmeister & @Lepercurtidoo I think that would be the perfect combination too,
a solid bass note and very harmonic higher notes, perfect.

I'd love to talk to you about construction, etc!
Thanks and great job!

@dingo1492 there is not much point in talking about this, you have to see and try, try, try also some theoretical study of vibrating plates.

@Titouan94 on the countrary then. the left one to you is much softer in feel and sound. though as strong as architecture wise.

Думаю, что оба хороши. Только на том, что слева динг вроде чутка грубее, басовитее. И по сему выходит, хоть строй один, голос у каждого свой.
