@CobraN456 No, the series is not dead. In fact, this is just what it needed. The problem isn't the amount of action or playstyle, its how you choose to incorperate it in the game. RE5 was bad because it tried to have all action, no puzzles, and still be the clasic resident evil. I don't have any problem with these little side stories being all action as long as the main storyline is the RE I love. And the new 3ds title is just that.

They are mixing things up I like it. Resident Evil 4 added a new turn with new zombies, Resident Evil 5 was still good considering is was the fifth of the series and Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City will provide a new type of gameplay with the same storyline we all know and love!

Resident Evil is the only franchise out there with the ability to evolve and still kick ass. Inspiring games such as: Silent Hill, Carrier, Left 4 Dead, Extermination, and Dino Crises (even though this too was a Capcom game, it also had been influenced.) After time and time again of making the SAME game over, they evolved inspiring a WHOLE new generation of games such as gears of war. The mechanics from RE4 can be seen in many games today. MGS, Gears of war, silent Hill, uncharted, ect.

As much as I'm happy we're fighting zombies again, I look at it and think I just don't care, it's not horror anymore it's an action shooter with zombies and mutants, it's just not the same anymore. Why cant we have a classic type of Resident Evil, with another Raccoon city like incident, with up to date graphics and Resident Evil 4 like gameplay but shooting and movement, forget this multiplayer shit.
