  • awesome-an aerial fight between adoreable budgies-sooooo ciute...hmmm maybe they think the light bulb is their eggs lol ;)

  • haha. i got 3 parakeets and 2 cocktiels... they fight for who gets to play on the ceiling fan... -_-

  • My parekeets (or parakeet) got into fight with my other one and killed it :P

  • its your females taking the light bulb's container as a nest box :P notice the brown noses that means they're females and they just are abit confused in thinking they can claim it as theirs to "breed in" but are confused as to how to get the light bulb out of the way lol

  • at :05..that Yellow fucked the Blue One Up!!

  • looks like they were trying to eat the light bulbs. oh i might know why. the lightbulbs kinda resemble those seedling bells that the birds eat. so maybe they are thinking that its food.

  • The sounds birds make while in a dispute always reminds me of "For the Birds" by Pixar

  • hilarious fight

  • That's funny! But not so funny when My Kiwi gets so Over protective of her stuffs and her place like perch if they tries to get her perchs like in her way she will fight them off. :( Kiwis bites hard.

  • budgies are funny that way - mine has a bell fetish - especially brass bells - he will talk to them for hours.

  • My cat loves this video

  • LOL!!! XO

  • I think they're fighting over who's on "top". My sisters two parakeets sometimes lock in on each other and fall on the floor in a ball. Then they get up and forget about it.

  • LOL. The male on the right is like "wtf is so interesting about this lightbulb? why do you women get so uptight over lightbulbs anyways?"

  • how serious is it when they "lock" in that bickering embrace like that ? i have two budgie hens that get along 98% of the time, but sometimes they "lock" into that battle routine and don't let go! It looks very violent, but I've only ever seen a tiny bit of blood one time. Not sure whether to separate.

  • OMG be careful. Skittles is ready to mate by the look of it. Her cere is crusty brown.

  • where did you get your parakeets there beautiful

  • how many parakeets total do you have? they're really cute!

  • The number changes frequently because I breed them. Currently, I'm at 34.

  • Too cute. My two parakeets went crazy listening to your birds. :)

  • Mine go nuts, too. I wonder if they realize it's themselves?

  • souljaboy5200again,you have to let them out or they'll die

  • These keets thougth LIGHTBULBS were eggs.. As you can see most or all of them were females. And they get territorial or "KEEPSY" on who gets the eggs or not. They always fight for space and things that they think belong to them.

  • NO, they did NOT think they were eggs. My birds are smarter than that. Not only that, they're only ever interested in their OWN eggs, and they certainly don't recall laying those "eggs".

  • my parakeets fight all the time ive never let them out of the cage

  • Maybe they'd stop fighting if you did let them out. Perhaps they're feeling crammed? How many do yo have? In what size cage?

  • i have 2 girls in a pretty big cage there r cats in the backyard sometimes and my mom dosnt like them going crazy in the house

  • Yes, females can be pretty territorial (more than males). Sometimes even no matter how much space they have. Then, there are some that get along really well. They're like people, in that they have their own personalities.

  • you should let them out many times a week so they can get tame so they won't fight.

  • They get free flight daily and are quite tame. They aren't REALLY fighting in this video. I guess "bickering" would be a more accurate description.

  • Oops! Sorry, I just realized your remark was probably directed at someone else.

  • how old are they in this video?

  • I don't recall exactly when I filmed this. If it was around the upload time, then they're about two years old in it.

  • Wow i never seen a yellow parakeet.

  • Haha! Crazy 'keets. Mine fight over who gets to sit on the side of the cage.

  • LOL The yellow budgie look's like mine.

And the white female one is called Snowie of mine. I have 8 budgies.! x]

  • Aw! How cute! I have four parakeets too!

  • omg that is so adorable! is one of them an albino?

  • No, she's a blue dilute.

  • oh. shes really pretty. we have an albino and a yellow and blue one with black specks

  • How do you let them fly in the open?My parakeet doesn't know how yet.

  • Does yours have its wings clipped? Or is it just very young?

  • The wings grew so fast!

  • that cute

  • skittles is so cute

  • LOL!!! mine fight over foood.....

  • Do you suppose that those birds were attracted to those bulbs because they might have thought the bulbs were eggs?

  • I don't think so. Those bulbs are SO MUCH larger than budgie eggs. I really don't know what the attraction is. Maybe the noise when they tap their beaks on them...?

  • Kewl birds, I'm thinking about getting mine a mate.

  • lol. parakeets r hilarious especially when they fight over things like like bulbs. i had a parakeet and there was a square mirror in the cage and it used to fight with itself in the mirror. lol!

  • lol :-)

  • I think those birds thought the lightbulbs were eggs.

  • Thanks for uploading my birds love this.

  • Omg, I just realized that many of them look identical, is that how you figure out they are related? What if a yellow and blue one mate, will they have a green bird?

  • Do you think you can upload a video where all your birds are shown? I ccan see that you have many and it would be interesting.

  • Thank you for your previous responses I have a few more questions. How do you know which birds have mated with which? How do you know whos related to who? what if you lose a bird out of all those that you have how do you know who it is and how will you notice?

  • wow! But of course you need to put males and females in the same cage so they can reproduce correct?

  • Yep. I just have them separated to prevent random mating since so many of them are related. I pair up couples that I want to mate and give them their own cage with a nestbox.

  • Do all your birds live in one cage or more? I have one parakeet, and I will admit its easier to get closer to than having many.

  • Currently I have 2 cages that are 30x18x33 inches. I have 9 females in one and 7 males in another. I also have 5 cages that are 24x16x14 inches. I have a pair (and their four babies in one, 5 fledged babies in one, 5 unruly food-kickers in another, 3 fledged baby 'tiels in another, and 3 'tiels in another. Plus 3 other 'tiels in a 17x17x24 cage. That's a total of 32 budgies and 9 'tiels in 8 cages.

  • they all look the same

  • The green and yellow one looks like the first budgie I had when I was a kid. She and her mate used to fight over their swing, and even though she was a lot smaller than him, she always won. I only have one now.

  • The green and yellow one in the video is Vinny. Unfortunately, she's no longer with us. But, she did have seven babies last year. Two of her male babies look a lot like her.

  • u put food in there?

  • Nope. It's just the lightbulbs, and apparently they ALL need to have a look. They're just insane little birds, I guess.

  • yeah lol i commented after first few seconds, lol yep my birds are crazy too, i ate one, check out the vid my screen name is mchyker not popal. or type parakeet dinner, and no i'm not a weird guy parakeets taste like chicken :)

  • You sick bastard.

  • Skye, my parakeet, fought my little sister's parakeet out of his own cage once.

  • how many budgies do u have now?

  • 24 (4 are babies) budgies and 9 (4 are babies) cockatiels.

  • thats so cute i have some that fight over thier toys

  • cute birdy's

  • YOur keets are so cute, what are their names? they love those light fixtures...mine fight over clothespins and broom straw.

  • Sorry. Don't know how I didn't see your comment before. In the video are Paco, Max, Vinny, Scarface, Skittle, and Sequoia.

  • yes, i do-- i've had birds all my life. but, the lights have yet to be crapped in.

  • Maybe the bulbs are still warm and that's why they like them.

  • OMG This is the cutest thing ever! I have 2 green parakeets, I have had them for 1 week. If anyone can give me advice on training, feeding, what makes them unhappy or happy, I would appreciate it bunches! When I played this video they went nuts and went to dancing on the perch back and forth! LOL

  • this is soo much fun right now my keet (JOY) is listening to this and yacking away as he hears yours through my speakers squaking LOL I think the keets would like the warmth from the bulbs also they are just plain curious.

  • turn it on while they got there heads in there... they will never want to see another lightbulb again lol

seriously dont do it i dont want you to tell me ya killed em doing that

  • actually, i have turned on the light when they were there (but, not with their heads in it). the just flinch then fly away a few seconds later. either because of the heat or the brightness, i'm not sure...

  • thats what my parakeets do when any light is turned on in a dark room they are in.

also check out my videos I have videos of parakeets also

  • i think it is time for a new nesting spot take out the light bulbs and unplug the lamp .this could be rather cosey.

  • actually, 8 months later, vinny (the green and yellow one) and dude (in a different video) had five babies. and they had them in a regular nestbox. although, a friend of mine thought i converted the fixtures into feeding dishes.
