I'm not trying to put you down, I just want to advice you that you should sing to your abilities. You are reaching for a voice (Noel's) that's just not in you. I'm sure you have a good voice so just stick to that one. No one likes to hear someone "trying".
Noel said he sampled it; we appreciate the song for what it is as opposed to the technical side behind it as all musicians take liberty with music. The songs are still relatively different when you put the seven reoccurring notes in music back a few thousands years and recount why basic structures repeat themselves from time to time.
Very good. I use a different chord progression than you do, so I am interested in trying it the way you play it and seeing if it sounds better. Good job.
