You don't seem to know much about the Windows Operating system. Safe Mode runs windows with minimal drivers, so tat the networking drivers would not me functional at the time... so there is no need to disconnect the ethernet cable or deactivate the wireless networking card.

Some viruses delete other system restore files and makes one with a message in it. I've had the Zlob virus once. It was very worse with my pc.

Winantispyware, Smitfraud and more viruses like that came on my computer and destroyed all my software. I have still problems left: My CD-Roms won't Auto-Run anymore. So: Dont use system restore only, watch out with this kind of spyware and get a good firewall and antivirus, you'll need it.

Just get McAfee, some spyware/adware/anti-virus software will just go ahead and delete viruses, unfortunately sometimes viruses attach them selves to important system files that you can't run your computer with out. Also a virus is a .exe file, which means you can't JUST delete it, it's install and probally has a way to re-install itself. Best bet is to A get UPDATED McAfee or reformat your hard drive which will delete everything off the computer including the os and then put the os back on =-)

Try disableing the file and printer sharing.

this is the way that busnieses with several computers are able to all use the same printer and share documents. it is also a mojor target for hakers because its turned on by defalt in most pcs.

if you have a wireless laptop, goto the start menu, click cenect to wireless network, & chage advaced propities. you should get a list of things with tick boxes and just untick the file and printer shareing.

a very simple fix, as long as there isn't anything on your computer that you need to keep is to do a system reboot of at least a week before the initial hacking began. This resets the computer to that time and undoes anything done within the time area.

once youve done that, get a high grade antivirus/anit spyware system.
