I think the real strenght of CC's behaviour is that she isn't afraid to imply real tenderness, genuine and deep love for JL because she doesn't care what people may think. She knows who she is and has enough confidence in herself to not feel obliged to reassure the straight audience and the TV market. She simply really love womanhood...

Most of the time, actresses who play gay characters can't help trying to assure the audience that they are not gay, like playing it "girl-on-girl teasing" in from of the camera. CC and JLnever did that, and they always remained very respectful of their caharcters feelings during the whole Otalia story. That, and their superb acting, make them both very special to me.

I am just so stoked that Crystal is so willing to advocate for the gay and lesbian community by dedicating herself to this project. I think the problem so many actors and actresses have with playing gay is the "stigma" that they may be gay themselves thus lose out on straight roles because studios claim they're unmarketable. Okay, I said way back when they did an interview with some guy, that they had a little crush on each other... I think you should distinguish reality than fiction, I think they love each other so much because they have become very close friends and they love working together but just that, they are Crystal and Jessica, not oliva and Natalia.

Devil's advocate here: I think it's actually a little of both schools of thought. I think they honestly do really like each other and may have some sort of girl-crushes (sexuality is really fluid, especially when you are an affectionate person as they both have admitted to being), but I also think they play it up for the tease and publicity.
