He did what no other idol really could do; Take a great song and make it their own. What was good about bobby flyn's performances is that he stood out. He wasnt just reciting other peoples music. I think it was mark's comment, when he said " You just made it ok to sing one of the dirtiest songs ever made on Australian television." So if you still think it didnt do rick james justice... then keep living in the past.

what i think is there are 2 types of singers: singers who have wonderful voice n mucisians.

Those who have wonderful voice, but no/lack talent of writing their own songs (maybe they can write a few, but not the whole albums), they rely on song writers to write songs for them, which may not be 100% match with their characters all the time in all songs. Examples: guy sebastian, mariah carey, whitney houston, etc. They can wow ppl with their voice, but not in all their songs, only some

the second type is mucisians. They are by heart and soul live to create songs. They write songs, play instruments, have nice voice, and UNIQUE CHARACTERS & VOICE. Ppl belong to this category are: The Beatles, Bobby Flynn, Wes Carr.

What i think is, good voice is not enough to be the best of the best. Cos as they are lack capabilities / don;t write all songs for themselves + less capabilities in music compare to the mucisian type, it might be harder for them to adjust (continue to part 3)
