If you're still looking for a mod to stop rain, you can just turn it off for good if you get Optifine, which is recommended with the Yogbox. It makes Minecraft run more smoothly, and it also acts as a patcher for HD textures.

If you need to change the weather just download single player command and you can type in weather sun and no rain or snow or you can type in super punch then a number (eg. Superpunch 5) and when you punch it it will fly or move away and kill it... Get it and you can also type give then an item name ( eg. Give wooden planks 64 ) and you will get whatever you want.. You can also fly thumbs up so he can see this
