Christ's teachings don't need interpitation, They are what they are. He even says this himself in his parable about the lamp. He says noone lights a lamp and hides it. The Lamp is Light, light is Truth. If you read them for yourself you will find truth.

All words need interpretation, they are a clumsy representation of thought and often fail to truly represent what you mean. Jesus was also limited by language. Parables are very open to interpretation, because they use metaphor, rather than stating a point directly. For example, the light parable could also be interpretated as saying- once someone has found the truth, they wouldn't keep quiet, they would want others to hear about it

I hope Tolle doesn't become a new religion. That is certainly not his intention. I see him as an inspirational speaker and writer. He gives clear pointers as to the cause of misery ( in the psycholgical sense ) and has helped a lot of people to be more balanced.
