  • good or bad nobody nosee lol

  • My son loves listening to you read this. Please do more :)

  • I love this. That make me crazy.

  • Wow, my daughters love your reading! they read it exactly the same as you do now! lol! please read more.

  • The movie was really good. But I still love the book way more.

  • I loved this story as a child. Thanks.

  • I watched it with my mother and father in law and they thought it was kind of weird and a bit boring. But I loved it from the start. I haven't seen such a beautiful psychological movie in ages! Great music too!

  • that movie was totally scary

  • I deffently a"where the wild things are" shirt today. hhaa<3

  • soooo good! :)

  • GUESS WHAT!

    I FOUND IT!!!

the 'scary' reading of this from a record released in 1977. I finally found it!!!

  • This is the only Where the Wild Things Are movie worth watching. That Spike Jones version is terrible.

  • I agree ! ;)

  • there is another version of this being read by a woman on a vinyl record...if you heard it you would be amazed...it was at the library for many years...

  • They should make a movie out of 'The Hungry 'Caterpillar' another loved story of all times XD

  • im just wondering.. i havent seen the movie yet but do they follow the book?

  • nope...not one bit buts its really good!

  • The visuals were excellent, the story line was too much, too many adult things added in.

I liked it, but didn't. It was my favorite book when I was little, & I felt raw & exposed when I was done watching it. Great, more therapy needed!

  • Yeah, that was actualy one of the most disturbing movie I've ever seen.. No joke :P

  • not really, there is the boat and he foundnd the wild things but other than that it's different, in the movie he actually runs away instead of going to his room.

I mean the movie was good, spike HAD to add things in i mean its 1 hr and 40 mins

    Hope that helps :)

  • was that really the whole book? I thought it would maybe be longer? I've never read it or seen the movie but just asking.

  • It's a children's book, we (our school) read it when we were younger.

  • I was going to write something about the stupid retards that make up this book, but my gf has a problem with that so I won't write anything about the stupid retards in this book. She's much happier now. I'm NOT getting the evil eye right now either..... and she just wanted me to point out that I'm not getting laid ever again.... dang...

Also, I was supposed to go see the movie with her tonight, but GOD has granted me with the gift of a really bad cold so I didn't have to die tonight thank god..

  • what is your problem? You realize there's not much to this book right? I'm amazed at how much hatred you have for something thats so simple. What makes them retards??

  • she should dump you.

  • The whole book is about a kid who goes to bed without dinner because hes acting up. When he gets back from his acid trip. He still gets his dinner. There was no real punishment. lol. the parents caved.

  • @cerasi209

Lmfao, I'm not sure that ten year olds do acid.

  • yeah no kidding that movie was sad, long, and the wild things were all abused and in the process of divorce...if you ask me they all needed therapy

  • The book was open to much interpretation. You can't fit a 20 page book into an hour-in-half movie.

  • Do you have any other videos where you read children's books? My niece enjoyed it but it's only showing 1 video. Maybe you have another account?

  • I dont yet... I actually did this for my son (it was his favorite book) when I had to be away for buisness and couldn't be there to read it to him. If you have any suggestions on other books your niece might like to hear, let me know. We have tons at our house just waiting to be read.

  • Why did they not have the forest grow in Max's room like in the book? All he did was bite his mom and ran off into a sail boat. Like seriously, how did he know where the fuck was he going on a small sailboat in the middle of the ocean.

  • it was a journey into his imagination... the monsters reflected aspects of himself and what he saw of others. in the movie it should have become apparent when they said that he was just a boy in a costume and that he was just like us. sand even came out of Douglas when Carol ripped his arm off.

    moral of the movie.

if he had never gone away then he would have never known how far he would have gone to be where he wanted, and he would have not seen that he had what he wanted all along.

    love.

  • And it's partly about forgiveness and unconditional love of his mother at the end when he finds his supper still hot, she is not trying to be abusive but she did discipline him.

  • The wild things were very symbolic of children I thought too, maybe they were all the different emotions of Max.

  • thats what i was thinking. because they all acted like kids themselves. it was a great movie over-all.

  • im doing a report on "our favorite book"

its suppose to be a chapter book but i said i cant be telling you the truth if i say anything is my favorite book other than where the wild thing are. (:

  • The whole book had a kind of eerie kind of feel to it, and the movie I thought stayed very true to the book,You weren't always quite sure that you could completely trust them, I liked that aspect of the movie, they all seemed so perpetually sad and melancholy and two of them were always on edge with anxiety you thought at any second they would flip and turn on the boy in a violent nightmarish display of wild animal thing rage, and devour him, very surreal feeling, I thought they needed Paxil.

  • Yeah I totally agree with the whole "not trusting" feeling. Like there were moments where I thought that they were going to accidently hurt Max during one of their games. It's a good movie for kids who dont really pay attention to that, and it's equally enjoyable for an older crowd because there are subtle undertones and a lot of emotional carnage going on. Awesome.

  • I know. It was a great movie.

  • There was nothing subtle about that movie. It shoved the "emotional carnage" down your throat with a spoon. What a steaming pile of pretentious existential pseudointellectual crap.

  • agreed.

  • man i saw the movie the day it came out, and i was really loving it at first, until carol (however you spell his name) started getting mad at small things. and then when the goat thing (forgot its name) said "you're not really a king, are you?....just don't let carol find out." *menacing boom* that scared the crap out of me i was like "i thought carol was good" and then it got so violent and so sad and YES, i cried. i don't think it ended well enough. i wanna know what happens to the wild things

  • Well it's supposed to symbolize childhood. How they can be angels one second, and little demons the next. Their capriciousness, their self-righteousness, and extreme awareness of others' faults (i.e. Max's), constitute a child's behavior and emotions.

  • Nothing happens to them...they were part of his imagination! So since they were made up you can make up what ypu wanted to have happened to them.

  • I can't believe i never got to read this book. I've never seen it anywhere!?

  • I love the video of the book but I felt like the movie was violent and I couldn't relate the book to the movie at all. I had read this book to my kids when they were young. I though the customs were good, I thought the kid was terrible.

  • Great movie. I watched it last night and was impressed.

  • awh I remember reading this when I was younger! I was like 5. It was the first book Id read on my own. I lvoe this book! I bet the movie will be great! =]

  • i luv the book and i think the movie will be better! im seeing it later so ill update :)>

  • word. :)

  • Reminds me of how my babysitter would read it to me.

  • There's always atleast one hater...

  • I remember reading this in second grade - I remember being confused about why Max would send the wild things to bed without their supper... Why would he do the same cruel thing to them that had been done to him? And then, after he has been mean to his wild friends, he gets rewarded by getting his hot supper back in his room... It was right around the time my father was trying to teach me the concept that two wrongs do not make a right... I was very confused and very impressionable...

  • i luv this book and shut the hell up elsanchonose2! you don't know what this book did to my 4 year old couzin! he loves this book *he thinks he is Max* :P

  • i need to see the movie of this

  • oh my gosh i had this book when i was about 3

searched for it cuz i wanted to re experience it

    i love you

    i am 12

i am not a man pretending to be lol

  • wow um having doubts about movie, but as for this video, it was great

  • it's a great book but how can you make 2:30 into an hour and 40 minutes and keep it interesting?

  • I don't kno, i hope they don't make crappy movie addapts for it.

  • The story is going to be expanded involving many many things that are not included in the book. They did the same thing with the grinch and horton hears a who

  • That was a really good reading :D I like the sounds.

  • lol this was my favorite book when i was younger i cant wait untill the movie comes out im going to see it lol i dont care what any1 else thinks this this book is awsome

  • seriously, haha.

  • I have fond memories of being a kid. This book was about the only book I didn't hate. Can't wait for the movie. I don't care if I am a little too old for it.

  • great story telling :) you make it very entertaining

  • Piece of garbage, the morale of the story explains how a wild peyote trip can earn you supper

  • wow

  • wow omq i can't beleive there coming out w the movie and i read this book whew when i was in 1st grade & its been 12 or 13 yrs since that wow amazinq

  • this girls voice is so cute

    :)

  • you're a good reader!

  • this is getting more views because of the movie trailer thanks for telling us the story

  • whats the morale of the story?

  • Party hard and don't sail drunk.

  • ROFL

  • basically its just being behave and obedient and respectful.

  • You clearly missed the point of this story. Sad, since 4-year-olds grasp it everyday with no difficulty.

  • @fencecat422 ... how unnecessarily rude.

  • trippin on cid or another gnarly trip on a drug. It makes you appreciate life in a whole new way. one love. Mary jane

  • your voice is delightful!

  • teeehee she talks funny...

  • I think she did a very great job! Sounds just like my sister when she use to read stories to me :)

  • is this the real story?

  • lol

  • DEEEEE UHNDDD

  • rofl.

  • the narration was just as good as any put out on those old disney read along records. Not sure if I'd approve of the movie though. There is a magic in just being limited to a book. This book was popular because it sparked imagination. Today, there's a movie for every little thought we might have. I don't think today's kids can identify with needing to use their imaginations. Today, the tv does all the thinking. curl up with a good book, no radio, no music, no tv, nobody else in the house

  • I totally agree with you. Movies are nice, but there is a point where they need to stop making every little story into a movie. Kid's need an imagination, and movies repreess that it is proven. Books do a better job of sparking childrens' imaginations.

  • Straight up. Make more trippy stories than turn it into a movie years later

  • would have been better if morgan freeman read this

  • hahahahahha, good one. that would be awesome.

  • lol

  • you sir, are a gentleman and scholar! Fantastic idea!

  • i cannot wait for the movie. it lokks amazing and touching.

  • I can't wait fer the movie!! x3

  • Why would Max send them off to bed without supper? Thats mean. Max is an asshole.

  • lmao!!!!!!!!! he really is, lil bitch!

  • LOL

  • its pretty funny that you say that exactly when the trailer came out.

  • Expect a tidal wave of views.

As for the movie, I'm looking forward to it. A lot. And that's pretty much because of the trailer, but I do remember enjoying the book as a kid.

  • idk i think its a smart idea . . im 22 now and i remeber i usta everynigh have my mom or dad read this book 2 me . . . its a very popular book and for all us kids that now grown up it sounds like a good idea to bring all the ppl that r older back to a kid feelin. . . ill watch it

  • they are making a movie and it looks great finally not a another remake

  • Great reading and awesome story. =)

  • i used to read this book when i was in grade 1 or 2. I'm a grandmother now.
