If you ask me, no liberals or conservatives on the court. I want judicial MODERATES who believe in individual liberty but also a fair degree of economic liberty and actually remembering what the Constitution says on things like states' rights, which has been ignored for the past 8 or so decades.
Dude, HAD AL GORE WON we would of NEVER had gone to war with Iraq, maybe with Afganistan, but NOT Iraq and loose over 4000 men. HAD Al Gore been president we would all be driving electric cars right now, and we woudnt had to worry about outrageust oil prices and global warming. Because of 1 vote, ONE court vote that Bush won, the same court that could have allowed florida to do a recount of it ballots. That same damnable year, 2000, was the time I came to this country, I regret so many things...
This guy Shultz is a moron. He still thinks "liberals" are going to be for the little guy when they are actually round table globalist kooks like Al Gore.
If you study Constitutional Law, you will find that you don't agree with anyone all of the time. I think it is a mistake to break it down as Liberal/Conservative. For example look at Gonzalez v Raich, which said that the Federal Government could still ban the use of Medicinal Cannabis under the commerce clause. Dissent: Thomas, Rehnquist, & O'Connor. Litmus tests are foolish. I would always prefer a jurist that is loyal to the constitution, rather than one with a political bent.
This host is a true communist folks. He should be taken to task for his stupidity. Why would anyone listen to this guy. This country is falling into a police state and hes helping it along like it was no big deal. Fuck these people time to take them out
Only a virtuous people are capable of freedom. As nations become corrupt, they have more need of masters." Benjamin Franklin.
Always vote for principle, though you may vote alone, and you may cherish the sweetest reflection that your vote is never lost. — John Quincy Adams
I predict future happiness for Americans if they can prevent the government from wasting the labors of the people under the pretense of taking care of them. Thomas Jefferson
Nice quotations. I hope you remember that it was Dubya who threw away a surplus and wasted at least three trillion in tax cuts for the rich, pharmaceutical subsidies and an useless war. Obama is gonna throw away another river of money but he MIGHT get it back and much of it needed spending. And universal health care is desperately needed.
But once that is done and we are back on our feet it is time to be fiscally conservative, isolationistic and to close the borders. Bad times, folks.
Yeah enough with bi-partisanship already. the republicans no longer represent half of this country, they are like a focus group now, and when they are in power, bi-partisanship goes out the window. there's no reason to appease them. Bush got to appoint 2 people. We need to counter that, otherwise we're gonna end up with a theocracy some day. Put in a YOUNG liberal too. Someone who will be there for years and years.
Unfortunately Obama and his potential nominee must play the "whu whu?!" game. Potential Supreme Court justices aren't allowed to reveal partisanship, so no one, including Obama, can really screen the selection the way Schultz wants.
Soutter is an enormous loss. He is an intellectual titan. Why couldn't Clarence Thomas go? He is dumb as $I-Ii+ .

After Alito, Roberts and Thomas conservatives can't complain about politics infecting the Supreme Court.

There was no surplus - that was an accounting gimmick.
Universal health care so the illegals have more of a reason to invade the US????
You are right about being isolationist - but that is what will put us on our feet.

The American people will never knowingly adopt Socialism. But under the name of
'liberalism' they will adopt every fragment of the Socialist program, until one day
America will be a Socialist nation, without knowing how it happened. ~ Norman Thomas

I also pray for the deaths of Scalia, Thomas, Alito, and Roberts. I recommend we all pray for this, every day.

now you sound like the republicans.
we should pray that thomas, scalia, alito and roberts all decide to resign or retire.

I agree.
Republicans put two conservative aholes in their last 8 years. We need a liberal on bench.
And lets all pray some conservative judges die , like that fascist homophobe Italian thug on the bench

Yep, yep. No shame, get a strong liberal judge. Someone who can throwdown in an argument. Maybe win Anthony Kennedy over a few times more than usual.
