@xMaidenSlayerx I will help, but first tell me how much you want to spend. First: you need more ram, and you need a stronger video card, as for your cpu, it is good for now, only problem is that you do not specify the speed of the ram. Either way, you will need to change about everything in the computer since to get ram that is much faster, you will need a new motherboard, which means you need new ram and cpu also. For what you want, for now it is not necessary, will cost less later.

@abooguh 3gb is enough. My 2gb ram stick was causing BSODS so now I'm stuck with 2x1gb of ram and all my games run just as smooth as they did before.

first get a high end cooler for your cpu Corsair H50 will be good for your budget or H70 overclock your cpu to 4.0 GHZ to elminate any future bottlenecks add another 3 gig's of ram to have total of 6 gig's get a high end Gpu 6970 or you can take 5970 its price have droped check your power supply if it was 650 watt ,good brand then you are ok

I recommend a 560GTX or 570GTX More system ram like 8 gigs. 1600Mhz type Corsair.

Or a 6870 whic are very cheap and great performers man awsome cheap mans card or a 5870 which are alot cheaper and as strong as a 6970 plus the 5870 has more shaders for certain games and it makes ahuge differnece when playing games that use alot for real affect.

I was shocked I could play everything smooth...

I bought a 5870 for another system i'm gonna build.

Plus I wanna build a cheap system with my Voodoo5 to.

Miss that cards sweet colors and great quality graphics on old games I love..

sry dude, but i dont think that there's an actual grapgics card for playing aktual games that goeas with a 240w psu....but u can try out the hd 5770 or higher, 'cause they got low power requirements though they got nice performance, not for high-res and max-settings gaming, but it willl get the job done for just "running" games and hd movies.

the ATI Radeon HD 5770 will pull ~30 Watts pls dont trap me on this, idk if this is really true, but i think so. you will be able so run it on youre system, but make sure yoy got enough space and airflow to install it, otherwise you will melt youre system down.

and dont expect it to run crysis on full res and full details, but it will run games like cod7 in a decent resolution and with decent detail settings.

i have this problem, when swicthing to full screen mode when i play crysis on my projector. its a 1080p projetor, and it works ok when im in non full screen mode, it just sucks cause i have to look at the window border all the time when i switch to full screen, the whole image area shifts to the right by 50%. i can only see half the screen thought it was my projector, but other games go in full screen mode fine.

windows vista 64 bit.

anyone one know what may be causing this?

@WhyteRomeo It is overclock to that speed, the original speed was 2.66ghz. You have to go into the BIOS and change the voltage and clock speeds properly to do this.

@WhyteRomeo For this cpu, it is not worth it at all if you are gaming, at least for the games out today, the performance increase in near to nothing, for video editing, it is kind of worth it, you will cut down the time rendering by about 20%. I did not overclock my video card. I forgot, yes it is worth overclocking your cpu if it is weaker than the i7 920, it was worth it for my dual core cpu that was 2.5ghz, it made a difference in many things, including gaming, overclocked to 3.7ghz.

@abooguh Well its just coming around that time again that I'm gonna be building a new rig and as always I like to do tons of research haha. I was thinking of going with the i7 950 since it seems like the best deal for a high end processor at 3.06ghz w/ 8 MB cache. It hardly seems like the pay up to the i7 960 is worth it with only a 3.20ghz processor and still 8 MB cache. As far as the video card goes I'm stuck between getting dual SLI GTX 580's or one single Radeon 5970... either way 2 gpu's

@WhyteRomeo For the intel core i7 950, I would get it at micro center, its $230 + tax there. There is also the 6000 series from ATI which are nicely priced, take a look at those, its best to get a strong single gpu card, compared to one that has 2 gpu's, I heard but never saw that more than one gpu can cause some frame rate drops here and there, since sometimes only 1 gpu is used, Gta IV (only uses 1 gpu) and crysis have this problem, unless they fixed gta IV with a patch.

@abooguh Crysis definitely uses more than 1 gpu, you wouldn't be getting those frames with 1 gpu from the 5970 I can guarantee that. I'm not sure about GTA IV though. The fact is that there is no single GPU card that can stand alone max all settings on crysis and average good fps (I mean with this lifesis mod on). I'm considering the 5970 because for the price it seems to get the job done pretty well on this video of yours. I can't imagine needing more. Have you experienced microstuttering?

I am trying to avoid microstuttering. 5970 is dual gpu card and although can sometimes provide very pleasing results, it can also cause a lot of problems. I would rather have the strongest single GPU card possible (GTX 580) and have a second one to run in SLI only if required. I would never buy two 5970's and run them in crossfire, thats 4 GPU's and can only spell trouble.
