  • they used to play at of our own in west university (houston) and milby park and were perfection...total crowd pleasers (1969-1971 i think)

  • I saw Josephus perform live, can't remember the exact year maybe 1968-ish at a little place in Groves called the Townhouse. I recall the singer being really tripped out and the guitar player was awesome with his fuzz-mind-bending tone of which was the norm back then...ah la Fever tree.

  • @jagtrz You've pretty well got their number. Pete Bailey was and is pretty far out there and Dave Mitchell is still killer on guitar.

  • The guitar player doesn't seem to be all that big on fuzztone, unlike a lot of other early psych/metal bands. I think he has an original sound nontheless

  • New material for me...just great!!

  • @papafirelin Its incredible to think this was recorded 41 years ago, isn't it? Dave recorded this on his 20th birthday, 30 March 1970. He plays the shit out of his Les Paul with a bit of aid from an echoplex. I hope this keeps the memory of Josefus alive and well.

  • This is wicked stuff... it's like Jimi Hendrix on steroids, but much better...

  • @sirGiedion That's my buddy Dave Mitchell and his Gibson Les Paul. Killer stuff, isn't it?
