  • Wow I camp there all the time and I never knew about gold,

    wow.

  • That looks kind of fun! Don´t u carry a gun for bears?? And are there people on van island that does this for a living??

  • went up to stave lake today and got nothing ..but I have no idea what I'm doing.. anyone interested in going with me and showing me the ropes... any time I have 4*4 I'm ready

  • is it really gold? isnt it just what they call cat-gold?

  • Very Nice!

  • no more secret i see the place code

  • hehe atleast you found something!! I want to give this a try one day! Currently in mission right now for a week but sadly no transportation to go unless I walk for hours. haha

  • hey was wondering where you get the gold pans at

  • @TheBryanh28

Try Deakin Equipment in Vancouver or Keen engineering in the U.S.

  • this aint no secret spot if you show your location on the GPS :)

  • the creek that u drived over was that the creek u panned in and do u think if in other creeks higher up there is gold.Or is it just in areas(new to gold panning)

  • @yahmy250ffrider Kearsley creek has gold as well as this one that I'm on (Seventynine creek) but Kearsley tends to have really tiny rice shaped bits. Good luck

  • @morph1554

Also there is a chance the bedrock you were working was cleaned out as bedrock is the target of choice for most who go in there. Sounds like luck was not shining on you that day. Perhaps next time. Hope the elbow is better.

  • @morph1554

You really have to know what you are doing and where to look on this creek, You need to move lots and lots of ground!

  • Testing

  • Great video, thanks for posting it. I also live in the GVRD and enjoy panning for gold. Let me know if you would like some company one day. Have you ever encountered any bears or cougars when you've been out panning?

  • @learned72 Funny thing is that I've not actually encountered any bears or cougars along this water course, not to say that there aren't any because I do occasionally see scat. I'll private post you a week before I plan to go again a well.

  • what a jip...

  • Was up at seventynine the other day. Way up there near its headwaters. I took a drive on the upper road through the gate. The upper road was washed out where it crosses one of the branches of 79, but I did find some nice new places to pan. Also I did this vid a favour by sharing it a few places. Hence the views. Hope all is well.

  • @Crom2000 Thanks. We should do a little scouting around there soon and see what we come up with.

  • I was trying to get down that creek the other day. Where did you enter the bush off the dirt road if you dont mind me asking? I ended up climbing down the rocks on the SW Side of the bridge and then following the creek down its banks.

  • @sapper6fd That particular GPS location wasn't the best spot on the creek. Though the stretch of creek that runs from the HUGE boulder at the bend above the main bridge to just after the bridge 50 feet is the best ground that I've found here. Bedrock sniping does produce colour as well as working the benches and some clay patches and false bedrock in that area. There is even signs of an ancient creekbed in various spots on this creek. If you find some gold could you add it as a video response.

  • your a fricken idiot to be doing 80km down that road. l have no idea how many wrecks l have seen on it.

  • Hey that's pretty cool. The gold you found was minute, but the experience looks priceless.

  • nice, do you need any kind of license to go panning ? can you go on any river ?

  • @elibaba7 You don't need a license to Gold pan in Canada but you should be aware that you can only pan on rivers that do not have "placer gold claims" or "first nations reserves" or on somebody else's personal yard as well as "goverment park land". But the government park land thing tends to never get enforced, so I suspect that it will be dropped off the list eventually.

  • @mnbvczxc ok thanks for the info

  • niice panning the proper way side to side!

    No stupid swirling! :D

  • In your "secret" location? You mean the one you just showed us the long and lat to on your GPS? :o)

  • @kimdaviscali HeeHee, I honestly thought somebody would have noticed that a little sooner than 175 views, but either way, good Job!

  • @mnbvczxc The sheep are too busy watching Dancing with the stars to notice stuff as trivial as oil dumping into the Gulf of Mexico, or lat/long... those of us who are not dazec by the BS, do pay attention to the little things.... cus those are what help me find the big nuggets... :o)

  • Good job for a couple hours. Thanks for taking us along.

  • that was not bad amout of gold. Nice one. You should run a slucie box in that spot you might get some more.. lol Very good video..Jess

  • Thanks Guys.

  • I definitely miss the rainforest climate you have over there on the coast! I like the explanation on how to pick out a good spot to find gold, I'll have to give my claim a run through to see if there are any nice spots I could try and sample before I go ahead and finish my glory hole. Great shot of the pan in action, I liked that!

  • Nice hunt very exciting finding the gold. Thanks for sharing it.

  • Great new vid there little bear. Its nice to see you can keep the pan still in the vid unlike myself.
