They say up front what each vehicle has, power wise. i dont understand what the issue is, they are just racing for FUN. and videotaping them.

ide love to have access to a private track and race against other people who have good taste in cars. that is real retirement.

after having driven both of them, i gotta say i love them both but they are totally different. the z4m is not an ideal daily driver, its suspension is a bit harsher then the 135i but returns better road feel and slightly sharper steering. the 135 is fast, equal to the z4m i'd say but its not as loud so it doesnt give you the sensation of being as fast. the z4m is more fun, love the looks and is a 2 seater. the 135i is great and easier to live with, plus it has 4 seats. Its all personal choice

I own a Z4 M roadster too, I live with it every day with no cause for complaint. They don't have the harsh "run flat" tyres like the other Z4 models.

My friend has the 135 and they are identical in speed but the my outruns it later on over 100

thats the 333hp vs 300hp. For all those who don't understand the difference between hp and tq... hp is top speed, tq is pulling power. You can also think of it as hp is how fast you punch. torque is how hard those punches are. How would you compare them in the handling department?

I do also own the M Roadster. I use to own the non M Z4. The M version feels a lot softer on the road and is of course much faster. I love it so much I use it on a daily basis when driving alone. Just plain adictive.

I'd go with the 135i too... especially since u can just get the ecu upgrade and bump up the hp to 350 to 380. Talk about a rocket ship...

And 4 seats really come in handy more often then u think, and with the new z4 already out, the old z4 will look dated in no time.

@putman201 You said it all! I have a Z4MC as a weekend car. My former car was a 130i but I did want something diferent and sportier ( It will be a classic, the Z4M).

The 135i is a great car and being a turbo can easily be upgraded. On the other hand it is harder and expensive to get more HP of the aspirated engine.

But when that 3.2 engine revs to 8000rpm you simply wants nothing else....

z4m all the way, on a race track all that turbo will end up unbalancing the car, my z4m interlagos is much prettier that that thing and makes me very happy when i drive it.I'd reduce the weight though, 200kg less and it'd fly.

The 135i is pumping about 367hp with 480nm of torque as compared to M Roadsters 330HP with 270nm of torque and the cars weigh about the same... that's really not a fair comparison...

That same 135i goes against a 997 GT3, which has 415 hp and is slower than a 911 Turbo (480 hp) and the GT3 wins hands down, no contest. So, that 135i is definitively not as fast as a 911 turbo
