@Mufaso1000 Oh, yes... I'm sure they're very happy, secure, and very much loved. We were truly impressed to observe the loving inter-action between the people in this Amish community! They seemed to perfectly demonstrate the idea that It takes a village to raise a child.
@pinkfreud62 They are definitely Amish children not Mennonite. I grew up in the Shipshewana area. Amish vary from area to area so some are more liberal.
@SuperPokoyoko - During the time we were there, there were NOT 20 cars - it was more like 6. If you could have seen the "parking lot" for horses and buggies, you'd be convinced. The cars were there (ours was one of them) because the auction was open to the public. The overwhelming majority in attendance were Amish, and it was a lovely experience! Don't judge what you haven't personally experienced, my friend.
At least they are not obese.

@Peggy91193 : I once taught at a rural school that had a few Amish kids. They were well-adjusted. disciplined, happy, and eager to learn.

@SuperPokoyoko I think they were Mennonites.. A more modern off shoot of the Amish.

@pinkfreud62 Um , The Mennonites came first . The Amish were an extremist sect who broke off from The Mennonites whom they saw as too lenient .
