the les paul is an epic guitar, perfect for rock and metal

the explorer is a shredmachine, made for heavy and thrash metal, although its nut wears out extremely fast (dust comes out when u change strings) and loses its tune extremely fast.. so i say its shit, the shred x is even worse.. a khaler without a locking nut.. u fukin serious? the tribal version is pretty good tho but the best explorers are esp/ltd...

so the les paul definatly wins

Explorer all the way my lead guitarest has an epiphone one but it's still kick ass I honestly like Epiphone guitars a little better because they sound exactly a like but there much lighter, but out of anything I choose IBANEZ!!!!!

@TheSkatingBassguitar Dude I have Epis and Gibsons they don't sound the same at all. Maybe behind distortion or some overdrive they do , but thats just the pedal. Plug em in raw once and see which is better clearly Gibson. I do agree on the Ibanez to an extent lol - Metal (Ibanez) everything else (Gibson) - Good comment and this is just my opinion I wasn't bashing or anything I mean zero harm or attitude towards it .
