I work at a College for students with physical disabilities most of which have CP, i was a bit nervous working with them at first but i love it now. They are the nicest people i've ever met and they do all the stuff that any other teenagers do.

Son, I don't think you have to explain to anyone your physical condition. To intelligent, informed people it won't matter. The body is just a vessel for the mind, and as long as you can physically interface with a computer, which you should always be able to do, you can interact with the world in a profound way, something which you are doing. :)

By the way, if you haven't heard of him, do a YT search for "Steady Eddy" who is an Australian comedian with CP. His favourite joke goes when people asking him when he's going to stop telling disabled jokes. His response is "when they find a bloody cure". I'm sure you will relate to and thoroughly enjoy his humour.

I think the reason some people pick out the differences in others is because it is a ego boost for them. Clearly people who actually take the time to post hateful comments need to work on their self-esteem. Making fun of someone, I think, is also a subtle way of trying to understand the other person, in Tom's case, trying to understand his disability. Issuing insults is a very lame way of expressing an inflated ego or some sense of guilt, but sadly, that is the only way some know how.
