Clint's known for "Bird" of course but "Straight No Chaser" was another of his tributes in Documentary format.

Check out "Dingo" with Miles Davis too - The Soundtrack is like the very last flash of "Miles."

Dexter Gordon and John McLaughlin ; 2 best looking (and best sounding) musicians. Though I know they are/were handsome enough (actually more so than all the actors I can think of) to appear on the silver screen, I think these sessions should have been recorded totally as a music video as well.

Actually, the first two minutes of this clip starting from when Dexter walks over to sit down, is all done with one camera, including the dialog at the back of the club with the owner. All the music and acting done live. Amazing shot and performance. This is what makes this movie head and shoulders above 99% of the movies with "live" music...

same here.....i was at the premier in hollywood by sheer dumb luck. i stood open-mouthed as herbie hancock walked by me. i returned home and bought the cassette. i kept playing it over and over all thru that first night. from there it's been a never ending love affair with jazz.
