i have seen him many times. the house of blues is the best venue. saw him at bass hall in ft. worth, more of an orchestral hall and a whole bunch of old white people just sat there. me, i moved to an empty section and danced all night. i honestly believe it's the venue he plays in. hob is his kinda joint. bass hall, not so much.
