I'm a derby girl, and I'm not mad at all that Whip It encourages girls to want to do this sport. In fact, I've encouraged every girl to see this movie. I personally decided to join my league before I even heard about Whip It but one night during practice, I got really discouraged. Watching Whip It encouraged me to keep going.

@SpunkyLamb I agree with you. I did know about roller skates and Ive used them ever since I could remember but I never knew about roller derby. Before whip it came out I heard about a sport where girls beat other girls up xD; I got interested but never got around to it. When whip it came out it really inspired me to get into derby more. I think Drew barrymore did a great job. And when I got into derby more I found a team in our city so I was pretty happy xD
