If someone came to my house and tried to take my dog away to euthanize her, I'd go on a killing spree. No one takes my dog away. She doesn't even bite her own TOYS. How is that even dangerous?!
When I was younger a man broke into my house when me and my sister were home during the summer vacation and was about to attack us when my two pitbulls stopped him. They didnt kill him but they did attack him, BUT ONLY to save my sister and I. They were put down for being too aggressive nearly 1 week after. :'(
I should mention as a disclaimer to kids... don't ever touch injured dogs. Was very stupid of me, but was very frustrated with the slowness of the police. Don't think the dog liked them.
Wow, i didn't know they actually did this :( I been bit by 2 different Pomeranians & met an evil Chow... but have never met an aggresive Pit! Always such sweet dogs. One got hit (i think) & kept running in traffic. I pulled over & he stayed by me. Called the cops bc the shelter was closed, & the cops were scaring him back into the street! Pissed me off, so i grabbed him ( a 5'4 young & very skinny woman), & got him in their car myself. It was injured, could have bit me...but it didn't. <3 Pits.

Every one of Michael Vick's dogs were rehabilitated. EVERY one of them. Some are now THERAPY dogs!! Seriously! Dog Town rehab'd them, look it up! So, even if they were trained all their lives to fight, they can be retrained not to. They are so very eager to please humans that they'll do anything we ask of them just for approval from us.
Unfortunately, one dog couldn't be rehabilitated, and they had to euthanize her. She was an old black unnamed female that was bred so much and so often that she literally went insane and lashed out at everybody. The rescuer's main regret, they said, was that they never gave her a name. But seriously, out of ALL those dogs, she was the only one! Pit bulls are awesome.
A dog is a dog. I feel sorry for the pitbull it's got such a bad press just because people have got them for all the wrong reasons. All the ones I've encountered are as soft as s**t. Any dog can bite and any dog can be loving it's down to the owners.
im 15 years old and i have 3 pit bulls. since i was 1 years old they've been in my life. they did nothing but help me. never once had they done anything to harm anyone. it makes me sick that people think they are bad dogs!! look how you raise them! if you raise them to fight, then thats how they will be! it makes me sick that people could do have the stuff they do and say about these dogs!
You don't know what it's like to be loved by a dog until you've owned a pit bull... these dogs give back so much more than they are given, all they want to do it please their owners... & unfortunately for some, this means fighting other dogs and attacking people because that's what they were taught... they never knew any other life, and once they learn something, they can't unlearn it. it will always be a part of them. so stop the aggression before it ever starts. I went to my local shelter... it is the saddest thing ever. Almost all the animals there are pit bulls or amstaffs... it is ridiculous... there was one, a pit mix named sammy... he was maybe 2 feet at the head AT MOST and was full grown. Whenever you approach his cage... he runs up, leans his side against the wire, and begs for love. I wanted to take him home...
In the 70's they blamed the Dobermans, in the 80's they blamed the German Shepherds, in the 90's they blamed the Rottweilers and now they blame the Pit Bulls. When will they blame the humans?
It sucks for those dogs...but guys come on ! did you know that even if you have them scence they were babies when they grow up and could kill you..Try entering the back of the door in the middle of the night. Pitbulls dont really get the smell of humans And they dont really see at night ! so most likely its ganna kill you.

@xxxSpetnaz I raised many pitbulls for over 12 years. NEVER had a single one bite ANYONE. My mom used to drive a school bus and would take our 115 lb 'Bo' to school with her on the bus. Kids would crawl all over this large dog and never once had a single problem. It's all in how YOU raise them. They are absolutely marvelous animals.

First of all I just want to say THANK YOU so much for putting this video on here!! I am the owner of two Pittbulls myself, I have a American Pittbull Terrier and also a Red Nose pitt, I just DO NOT understand how anyone could think that all pittbulls are vicious and aggresive. I have two small children who love our dogs, our dogs are part of this family and always will be!!!! Stop with all of this BSL, people should be able to own what ever dog they chose, what ever breed it may be...
With that out of the way, do be careful as to where you actually get the Pitbull. Irresponsible breeding CAN create negative traits in the dog *I'm not talking about being bred to fight, I'm talking about inbreeding, things like that*.
I seriously wouldn't mind owning a Pitbull though. I luckily don't live in a BSL area. And why people bitch and moan about a Pitbull's bite is anyone's guess. The Rottweiler has a much more powerful bite.
Here's the best piece of advice any potential dog owner can get; get the dog *no matter the breed* when it's a puppy. Adult dogs are hard to train, and in a Pitbull's case, this will make it a lot harder on you than it has to be. The only two acceptions to this general rule is if you already know the dog REALLY well, and if the dog is rotting away in an animal shelter.
A friend of our family had a pittbull,which used to be "a real fighting dog" She looked horrible when they saved her.many injuries, no fur, just bones and skin.
She got better, but the scarves on her body still reflected her terrible past.She has been a little angel.I loved to play with her when I was a kid. Even with her horrible expierences she NEVER attacked or hurt anybody!
I'll never forget the look of her eyes,all I could see were gratitude,respect&love.

I personally don't agree with killing any healthy animal with no history of attacks and that as long as the dog is raised properly there shouldn't be a problem with them. I haven't seen whether your dogs were taken from you...I really hope they weren't. If they were, my deepest sympathies to you and your family.
Your dogs look amazing. I suppose the problem is that whilst they may be kind and gentle with their family and people they know, ALL dogs can be killers and some breeds more so than others. Here in the UK we have had the owning of Pit Bulls banned because of several attacks by Pit Bulls on children (even within the dog's own family) and some of the children died. I'm not saying that all Pit Bulls will attack and be vicious but as a breed they can be more aggressive than other breeds.

We have that here too, in Ontario. This law SUCKS. I wanted my first dog to be a pitbull because they are beautiful, intelligent, and protective (in great way). Ignorance is bliss to those "authorities" that ruled on this law.

Back at home, one of our four dogs is a Labradoodle cross Rottweiler and when we tell people her breed they automatically seem on edge. Even though Pepsi licking their hands or enjoying a scratch from them moments before.
I hope the BSL gets scrapped and more people are educated to how wonderful man's best friend can be.

Two would play with the other kids and i at the bus stop and one always walked me home from school and waited for me to go on a night time walk. I was lucky enough to grow up with pit bulls...my step siblings, however, were not. When we are together, they won't let their kids near my dog. If only they knew how their kids play with my dog when they are not around! Lol...they would kill me. But I will never tell. It hurts her feelings, though, when she wants to play with them and can't.

These dogs are the best family dogs when raised properly with proper training and socialization. Jasper lets my baby brother climb all over him, jump on him, and play with his mouth. He lays there and ignores him. Also, if he has a toy, Jasper wont even take it. IDK what i'd do w/o Jasper.
my pit bull was the only one who could ever save me from myself. i think those who are against the breed have no idea of the amazing history of this dog or that they are truly a favorite among dog lovers and trainers. i don't know where i would be w/o my pit vaughn and my pit/chow janyce. probably in an institution if someone took them away from me.

Its all in how you raise them, even a poodle can be deadly if you abuse them. Don't understand why pitbulls have such a bad reputation. My aunt had 3 of them and everyone of them were the most lovable dogs that you would ever see. Your dogs must have it made because they both seem so loyal and happy. Man keep up the good work. You would'nt believe how many good pit vids I've found. You would think with people like the dog whisperer and his pit Daddy. (Rest his soul) There would be less of an excuse for these bans and more of one to crack down on dog fighting. Like makeing the punishment harsher or makeing them less desierable for dog fighting. @jarredcat: I have two sons....that might be the confusion. Titus saved our youngest son from the blinds and a coyote in the backyard. Blue saved our older son years ago from being hit by a car - not saying the car would have definitely hit him but it was close and I thank God Blue was there. I'm one of those people that can say I'm truly lucky to have my dogs.

Bully breeds are some of the most sweethearted dogs on Earth. My friends' purebred APBT refuses to even bark at strange animals or people, she tries to make friends with everything. She will wag her tail and try to sniff and play with feral rescued kittens while they whack her muzzle and hiss. They now love her and follow her all over the house, and when they cry she will come and stand protectively over them. Great dogs!
I always wanted a pitbull that is the stupidest law I ever heard I've been around pitbulls that my friends have owened they are the most gentle dogs I've ever seen only one time a got alittle niped from my friends dog but it was because I was playing with it if the dog wanted to hurt me it could have really killed me because it was ahuge pit. After the little nipe we kept on playing

I love pitbulls. The pet hospital I used to work for had a blood doner dog that was a pitbull and he was the sweetest dog in the world. Gentle and unagressive to all the animals that came even if he was growled at, and he used to follow me around quietly while I carried trays around.
I'm determined to adopt a pitbull once I get out of college.

Great vid, nice lookin dogs. It's so sad how prejudice infects peoples brains like that. The American Pit Bull was once the symbol of the country right alongside the Bald Eagle now this bs. I own a pit mix and i sadly have to try to pass him off as a lab mix or whatever they'll accept just so he doesn't get judged. I don't even go to the dog park anymore, its just not worth it.
My family got a pittbull one year, and I, being sceptical of pittbulls, told them I would never interact with the dog, would not care at all, and that they were taking a huge risk. However, when the dog arrived, she was more scared of us than we of her, and I ended up getting extremely attached to her, more than the rest of my family. She was a lovely pet, and she wouldn't have hurt a fly. We had to give her away when we moved, so that sucked. They are not the beasts the media paints them as!
if they tried to take my baby away they wouldn't get far. i also am quite aggressive when it comes to my baby. She's also a pit bull but she is so sweet. i guess people that don't know that it's the breeder's or owner's fault if their aggressive, chewed on lead pipes when they we're a baby.

if bsl comes wouldn't they be braking the law to. buy taking person things away from people. if someone did that they would go to jail. Totaly agree, it's bad owners that give this amazing breed a bad name, I have had my two Pitbulls for over 7 years now, and i couldn't ask for a better animal, they're both amazing with my children and with other animals, they haven't got a bad bone in them.

It's horrible...The only reason they're banning pits in some places is because humans have ruined their image by fighting some of them.
Any dog breed has the potential to be vicious when they're abused like that. It sucks that dogs who were shown nothing but love...and who show nothing but love in return...are taken away because their breed has a bad public image.
I've only interacted with two pits in my life, but they were the biggest sweethearts! The male was an absolute wimp, lol.
Dogs are as diffrent as patterns on a cheeta and no 2 are the same it is unfortunate for those incodents where pit bulls have hurt people becouse of there previous owners.... but its the people who should be held responisible...to stop one breed is purely genicide.... i thought taht after WW2 the USA voued to never let genocide occure?? When I was younger a man broke into my house when me and my sister were home during the summer vacation and was about to attack us when my two pitbulls stopped him. They didnt kill him but they did attack him, BUT ONLY to save my sister and I. They were put down for being too aggressive nearly 1 week after. :'(

Wow, i didn't know they actually did this :( I been bit by 2 different Pomeranians & met an evil Chow... but have never met an aggresive Pit! Always such sweet dogs. One got hit (i think) & kept running in traffic. I pulled over & he stayed by me. Called the cops bc the shelter was closed, & the cops were scaring him back into the street! Pissed me off, so i grabbed him ( a 5'4 young & very skinny woman), & got him in their car myself. It was injured, could have bit me...but it didn't. <3 Pits.

Breed Specific Legislation (BSL) doesn't work! Without DNA testing, you CANNOT accurately pick out a "pit bull." Test yourself and check how you did afterwards. Even trained professionals can't accurately pick out pits from non-pits! There is great info on nationalcanineresearchcouncil (dot) com, then click "Dog Legislation," then "Ineffective Laws." Every one of Michael Vick's dogs were rehabilitated. EVERY one of them. Some are now THERAPY dogs!! Seriously! Dog Town rehab'd them, look it up! So, even if they were trained all their lives to fight, they can be retrained not to. They are so very eager to please humans that they'll do anything we ask of them just for approval from us.

Unfortunately, one dog couldn't be rehabilitated, and they had to euthanize her. She was an old black unnamed female that was bred so much and so often that she literally went insane and lashed out at everybody. The rescuer's main regret, they said, was that they never gave her a name. But seriously, out of ALL those dogs, she was the only one! Pit bulls are awesome.

You don't know what it's like to be loved by a dog until you've owned a pit bull... these dogs give back so much more than they are given, all they want to do it please their owners... & unfortunately for some, this means fighting other dogs and attacking people because that's what they were taught... they never knew any other life, and once they learn something, they can't unlearn it. it will always be a part of them. so stop the aggression before it ever starts. It sucks for those dogs...but guys come on ! did you know that even if you have them scence they were babies when they grow up and could kill you..Try entering the back of the door in the middle of the night. Pitbulls dont really get the smell of humans And they dont really see at night ! so most likely its ganna kill you.

@xxxSpetnaz I raised many pitbulls for over 12 years. NEVER had a single one bite ANYONE. My mom used to drive a school bus and would take our 115 lb 'Bo' to school with her on the bus. Kids would crawl all over this large dog and never once had a single problem. It's all in how YOU raise them. They are absolutely marvelous animals.

I am the owner of two Pittbulls myself, I have a American Pittbull Terrier and also a Red Nose pitt, I just DO NOT understand how anyone could think that all pittbulls are vicious and aggresive. With that out of the way, do be careful as to where you actually get the Pitbull. Irresponsible breeding CAN create negative traits in the dog *I'm not talking about being bred to fight, I'm talking about inbreeding, things like that*.
I seriously wouldn't mind owning a Pitbull though. I luckily don't live in a BSL area. And why people bitch and moan about a Pitbull's bite is anyone's guess. The Rottweiler has a much more powerful bite.

Here's the best piece of advice any potential dog owner can get; get the dog *no matter the breed* when it's a puppy. Adult dogs are hard to train, and in a Pitbull's case, this will make it a lot harder on you than it has to be. The only two acceptions to this general rule is if you already know the dog REALLY well, and if the dog is rotting away in an animal shelter.

A friend of our family had a pittbull,which used to be "a real fighting dog" She looked horrible when they saved her.many injuries, no fur, just bones and skin.
She got better, but the scarves on her body still reflected her terrible past.She has been a little angel.I loved to play with her when I was a kid. Even with her horrible expierences she NEVER attacked or hurt anybody!
I'll never forget the look of her eyes,all I could see were gratitude,respect&love.

Could someone please,explain it to me:What happens if you take a pitt bull from a shelter in your area?
Do they(I don't know how to call them) get into your house, take your dog,and put him/her down in some public shelter?
Is there ANYTHING the owners can do to avoid this horrible precedure? Or are they helpless against the goverment and the so called "law"?

Your dogs look amazing. I suppose the problem is that whilst they may be kind and gentle with their family and people they know, ALL dogs can be killers and some breeds more so than others. Here in the UK we have had the owning of Pit Bulls banned because of several attacks by Pit Bulls on children (even within the dog's own family) and some of the children died. I'm not saying that all Pit Bulls will attack and be vicious but as a breed they can be more aggressive than other breeds.

This video honestly brought tears to my eyes. I can tell that you and your family really love your Pitbulls. That is a nice thing to see now a days. Pitbulls truly are the most misunderstood dog breed. And your Pitbulls, especially Blue are great candidates for the Pitbull breed. I have a pitbull, and i would do anything for him. That was truly beautiful. I'm sorry that people can't look past their pre-conceptions of an animal's reputation.
Back at home, one of our four dogs is a Labradoodle cross Rottweiler and when we tell people her breed they automatically seem on edge. Even though Pepsi licking their hands or enjoying a scratch from them moments before.
I hope the BSL gets scrapped and more people are educated to how wonderful man's best friend can be.

This video made me cry, it is beautifully done. I grew up with pittbulls in my neighborhood. Two would play with the other kids and i at the bus stop and one always walked me home from school and waited for me to go on a night time walk. I am in the service now and am far from home, i miss those dogs terribly. Thank you.

I was lucky enough to grow up with pit bulls...my step siblings, however, were not. When we are together, they won't let their kids near my dog. If only they knew how their kids play with my dog when they are not around! Lol...they would kill me. But I will never tell. It hurts her feelings, though, when she wants to play with them and can't.

These dogs are the best family dogs when raised properly with proper training and socialization. Jasper lets my baby brother climb all over him, jump on him, and play with his mouth. Its all in how you raise them, even a poodle can be deadly if you abuse them. Don't understand why pitbulls have such a bad reputation. My aunt had 3 of them and everyone of them were the most lovable dogs that you would ever see. Your dogs must have it made because they both seem so loyal and happy. Man keep up the good work. You would'nt believe how many good pit vids I've found. You would think with people like the dog whisperer and his pit Daddy. (Rest his soul) There would be less of an excuse for these bans and more of one to crack down on dog fighting. Like makeing the punishment harsher or makeing them less desierable for dog fighting. Blue saved our older son years ago from being hit by a car - not saying the car would have definitely hit him but it was close and I thank God Blue was there. I'm one of those people that can say I'm truly lucky to have my dogs.

Any dog can be a killer, it depends on the owner... but yet the animal gets put to death and the onwer walks away to raise another killer just cause for some stupid reason they think that a agressive dog that will atack anything that mooves is cool..And dont forget that a dog that is that agressive that it has to be put to death has an owner to blame not its race...

Breed Specific Legislation, Should be changed to Bull Shit Legislation in my opinion. It has nothing to do with the breed of the dog, its the owners and how the dog is trained. This video proves my point totally, your an amazing dude.

Bully breeds are some of the most sweethearted dogs on Earth. My friends' purebred APBT refuses to even bark at strange animals or people, she tries to make friends with everything. She will wag her tail and try to sniff and play with feral rescued kittens while they whack her muzzle and hiss. They now love her and follow her all over the house, and when they cry she will come and stand protectively over them. Great dogs!

I always wanted a pitbull that is the stupidest law I ever heard I've been around pitbulls that my friends have owened they are the most gentle dogs I've ever seen only one time a got alittle niped from my friends dog but it was because I was playing with it if the dog wanted to hurt me it could have really killed me because it was ahuge pit. BSL is as ridiculous as racism. Don't prosecute a whole breed for a few mishaps due to bad owners.
I love pitbulls. The pet hospital I used to work for had a blood doner dog that was a pitbull and he was the sweetest dog in the world. Gentle and unagressive to all the animals that came even if he was growled at, and he used to follow me around quietly while I carried trays around.
I'm determined to adopt a pitbull once I get out of college.

Great vid, nice lookin dogs. It's so sad how prejudice infects peoples brains like that. The American Pit Bull was once the symbol of the country right alongside the Bald Eagle now this bs. I own a pit mix and i sadly have to try to pass him off as a lab mix or whatever they'll accept just so he doesn't get judged. I don't even go to the dog park anymore, its just not worth it.

My family got a pittbull one year, and I, being sceptical of pittbulls, told them I would never interact with the dog, would not care at all, and that they were taking a huge risk. However, when the dog arrived, she was more scared of us than we of her, and I ended up getting extremely attached to her, more than the rest of my family. She was a lovely pet, and she wouldn't have hurt a fly. We had to give her away when we moved, so that sucked. They are not the beasts the media paints them as!

if they tried to take my baby away they wouldn't get far. i also am quite aggressive when it comes to my baby. She's also a pit bull but she is so sweet. i guess people that don't know that it's the breeder's or owner's fault if their aggressive, chewed on lead pipes when they we're a baby.

I really don't think there going to be able to do that. even through there trying to make it a law not to have pit bulls in San Diego. Totaly agree, it's bad owners that give this amazing breed a bad name, I have had my two Pitbulls for over 7 years now, and i couldn't ask for a better animal, they're both amazing with my children and with other animals, they haven't got a bad bone in them.
But that didn't stop the Police from coming around to my house and trying to take my dogs away. It's not fair the way these dogs are frowned upon.

It's horrible...The only reason they're banning pits in some places is because humans have ruined their image by fighting some of them.
Any dog breed has the potential to be vicious when they're abused like that. It sucks that dogs who were shown nothing but love...and who show nothing but love in return...are taken away because their breed has a bad public image.
I've only interacted with two pits in my life, but they were the biggest sweethearts! The male was an absolute wimp, lol.

Dogs are as diffrent as patterns on a cheeta and no 2 are the same it is unfortunate for those incodents where pit bulls have hurt people becouse of there previous owners.... but its the people who should be held responisible...to stop one breed is purely genicide.... i thought taht after WW2 the USA voued to never let genocide occure??
