I heard her as Odabella in Rome 2005, and that´s was very beautiful. Large, warm voice. Here, she has several problems putting her tone in front of her face. It sounds like it had stuck in her throat. Sorry to say, because it´s a very nice instrument she has...
Sadly due to "over parting" herself, that is singing a whole repertoire of wrong parts,Ms Theodossiou has ended up like this. Her voice is strident, and agressive and certainly not "Bel Canto";I cannot hear anything beautiful here. This is like hearing a bell ringing,or striking a gong, nice for a couple of seconds, but painful for any longer.
If she is not careful Ms Theodossiou will be going to the place that Suliotis went with her voice, she is certainly speeding down that road already!
I am new to this singer and after some listening on youtube and other research, I have some of your same concerns. She seems to do a lot of "soprano-killer" parts like Odabella, Abigaille, Norma, and often pushes. Tho she is exciting, your point re: Elena Suliotis may be well taken.

I think it's just a really big difficult-to-manage instrument, and she might be putting too much drive and metal into it...
