Altair was train to be an assassins and eventually cause a HUGE IMPACT toward the templars but we know that Altair's master was a templar himself (Al-Mualim). Ezio was train by Mario after he lost some of his beloved family because of Rodrigo and eventually also cause a dramatic lose to the templars. As for Desmond, bringing him in the Abtergo and Lucy effort, he become a master of assassins which will also bring loses to the templars. Conclusion, the templars just made their own worst enemy
