  • This guy is a God, my hero. I wish I could have raced there today but hopefully he will be in London. People who don't know this sport just do not understand how hard it is to be turning out these kind of results at this level. I am a female 2hrs 40 runner at my best but it gives me some sort of insight and understand of how amazing he is. Not only this but a great guy too. I have been honoured to meet him many times - such an inspiration. Go Haile, Go!!!!

  • I was very lucky to shake his hand about ten minute before the race. He had a firm hand but his arm was as light as a feather. . . .there is nothing to him. This was my first marathon. .. .. . just over five hours. It was damn hot though 26oC I ran all the way but as you can see from my other vid at 40k I was a different guy. . .. . very close to braking point.

  • @simonjohnsonbass Great to hear from you, how exciting to shake the great man's hand on your first Marathon. He is an inspiration, Marathon running is very lucky to have such a character and personality. He always has time for the crowd and his fans. In Berlin in 2007 I broke 2 ribs and should not have run. When warming up he came over and asked what was wrong and to inspire me signed my race number and gave me a kiss to bring me luck. Enjoy your elation, satisfaction and rest! Thanks Fiona
