when I met my sister for the first time, it was 2 days before our fathers funeral and we bonded over a common love of Smashing Pumpkins ballads and I strummed this song and we sang it together.
@bigmikevt 2 months after my mom died, my Dad knocked on my door and told me I had a brother, he never told my Mom. I was excited, but he wouldn't divulge any information about it,,only that his name is Joe and lives in New York..lovely...can't even meet him....I'm happy for you and your new sister...have fun...aren't these demo's awsome??
It could have been recorded in mid to late 1994 at Billy's home because these were just demos for Mellon Collie and he would have been working on the album then. I don't think it's much older, but who knows.
yeah, now that I've heard all of these demos I must say I was really responding to the fact that Corgan seems always to sing here in a very soft, high "falsetto"--which he regularly employs (or used to), but not so exclusively--I guess I always figured he added that technique more for the studio versions, to get a more heightened sense of emotion, but it seems to be his casual mode of singing as well--
@redpaul79 It always seemed to me that in his demos he was more concerned with documenting the song than he was with trying to get a solid vocal idea. Almost all of the demos I've heard have really soft vocals.
I think I prefer this to the LP version.
