  • They are a hardcore version of Tears for Fears, and I love it!

  • Amazing song.

  • Very meaningful. :-/

  • "No Wings to Speak of" has to be the most well written collection of music in all of history.....

  • Great song! Hopesfall is by far one of our biggest influences!!

  • if u guys like this song, u guys should hear paralyzed by as i lay dying, its freaking epic

  • doesnt make sense this is all the views this band/song has sad shit

  • NC BANDS RULE!

  • not bad:)

  • First 22 seconds = what a Viking would listen to while marching to war.

  • words are not enough to describe hopesfall. "Our hope falls from the sky" unforgetable

  • whether you wanna call these guys melodic hc, post-hc, or metalcore, they were the best hardcore had to offer in the beginning of the century. can't believe i saw these guys play this song almost 10 years ago.

  • @dropdedjames great post. i saw these guys play this stuff before knowing who they even were and they blew my fucking hair back. i'll never forget it.

  • This is definitely Not metalcore, for those saying so. It's close, but it's more a melodic take on hardcore, or melodic hardcore. Apart from the screaming there's really nothing metal about the music. But regardless of the genre, it's a golden song and Hopesfall was quite the band, despite the lineup changes and changing styles. They were most certainly post-hardcore for their last two albums.

  • @Taslak melodic hardcore? what the fuck are you talking about? every hardcore is melodic.

  • 2:40 Is my favourate drumming moment ever, so simple but so groovy

  • ksk hattan <3

  • Breaks my hearth to listen to this song.... how fast time is going by....?

  • This song is amazing I remember listening to this back in the day(:

  • post hardcore FTW.

  • @dorkizzle No.... Metalcore.

  • I probably haven't heard this song in 6 years. My hands are shaking.

  • @newscast I love that feeling.

  • @newscast cry everytime..

  • "I guess you found a way to make ten minutes last forever" - always gives me chills. I cannot stop loving this band, never.

  • Man this song is real shit. I remember being in high school listening to this feeling all sad, but good at the same time. The song has been in my head for the past two weeks especially @ 3:19, and to my surprise it was here all along. On youtube! I love the digital age.

  • Lucas me mandou aqui auihiaus

  • August 5th they're reuniting to play these songs in Winston Salem. Fuck yes.

  • @FarewellMonuments my body is ready

  • @FarewellMonuments I'm going to the one in Charlotte on the 6th.. !! Stoked. =)

  • wow, emo shit here.

  • @Maarty7658 Go back and listen to your dubstep then. Sad kid.

  • @hopesfall2win Yessir. Very sad kid

  • @Maarty7658

How the hell is this considered emo?

  • song is soooo sick OG!

  • such an amazing, old song. this does bring me back

  • I'd like to thank the bloke who on a Breaking Benjamin video posted 'Hopesfall ftw' and led me to this band, otherwise I would not know of their existence, and my life would be incomplete.

  • @GreenArmy93 hell yea brings me back to so legit

  • @GreenArmy93 Keep searching there are a lot of bands and music you have yet to hear that will blow you away just like this one.

  • EPICNESS!

  • Used to listen this shit back in the day. So glad I found it again. Blasted this shit while skating

  • Dude, I wish there were good bands now. their all shit with auto tune, yeah, fucking auto tune in post hardcore. its a fucking joke nowdays.

  • @mtbmikex9 Dude there's still some great modern post hardcore in the underground. Rosetta, Amia Venera Landscape and Rinoa are just three bands I recommend checking out.

  • @alexmonro83 Holy shit. Amia Venera Landscape might just be one of my favorite bands. Thank you for letting me know.

  • @mtbmikex9 All good. You should also check out It Prevails. More melodic hardcore than post hardcore but still really good.

  • Best posthardcore song ever. Nearly perfect.

  • I saw this song (among others from the EP) and most of the songs from "Frailty" played live. During the breakdown at the end of the song I swear people were going emotionally crazy and crying because it was so "moving" whatever. That sounds completely gay, but that's how it was. It was the best show I've ever seen. People left the show in silence. It was weird. It's too bad they got rid of their good guitarist and vocalist.

  • @calends Fuck, sounds epic. Im a whore for rap music i but i still love the metal genre. Im an HxC gangsta not really lolol but im happy ive expanded my taste in music. Inspired me to play drums. I would love to be an MC or drummer lol

  • Man.. Reading all this stuff makes me wish I had awesome highschool memories to think back to. I was the only kid in my school who listened to anything like this and there is absolutely no music scene here. I'm in a band now (I commute to Van to get shows, The hardcore scene there is really lacking too though..) that's playing a very similar style. Melody driven hardcore with punk roots (I converted them from this new age hardcore that isn't hardcore, hardcore haha)

  • @ShrineVLOG This stuff is really inspiring for a local kid. I hope that even if I don't have those great memories, I can create them for others with my music.

  • @ShrineVLOG 18 year old kid (Honestly have no clue why I said local.)

  • So many ideas in this Song. Some Bands would kill for writing this stuff.

  • the chills. so nostalgic. this song takes me back to the glory days

  • oh to go back to high school and rock this shit like i used to. 1998-2003 my wonder years (no it didnt take me 5 years to get thru high school..i was including 8th grade too...figured id get ripped for that one haha)

  • Weeee, drift, furtherrr awayyyy.

  • @Buckt0 lol yeah wasn't concentrated

  • .. did they delete the Icarus video? Pathetic..

  • Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay!! =D

  • what only 38k views? this song is epic!

  • art

  • KsK nm in thps :(

  • @damntasia was a prov video actually lol

  • I can't believe how widespread hopesfall's impact was on so many people.

I was the only kid in my entire school who had even heard of them and, like most people who did know of them, I had this album and The Satellite Years on repeat with my old Sony CD Walkman (jogproof!). Man this brings me back.

  • @ambientmf 100% agree dude...they played with boys night out and alexis in a local venue when i was 16. one of the best shows ive ever been to.

  • @ambientmf well speaking of widespread I live in New Zealand and discovered Hopesfall on the net. Amazing stuff. The Frailty of Words is another great release.

  • So many dorks commenting, but it's nice to see comments about music changing someone's life instead of, "DIS SHIT IS BR00TAL" or the usual argument/"this shit is gay".

  • so this is the band that influenced august burns red... i believe it.

  • i loooooooove this song

  • Jesus is alive an he loves this band :D

  • Never would I have thought watching a live performance would reestablish my opinion towards a whole genre of music. Thank you Hopesfall for destroying all my fears and preconceptions. Your music inspires me to this day.

  • When I heard this for the first time it was on repeat for about a month straight.

  • I WISH IT WAS1996 AGAIN

  • I actually cried when I heard this

  • @treskefar look up choke by my children my bride

  • @treskefar agree with u on the feelings, I just broke up one month ago from my girlfriend, we were together for 5 years and just bought a house but still on some points we had huge different points of view and so we decided to split even we still love each other...

  • @beghdav Also with you there man. 6 years for me, still have lots of respect and care for each other, but we just knew it wasn't moving forward. This song definitely helped...

  • totally agree with most posts. this was college for me. going to see bands like early hopesfall, early everytime i die, early eighteen visions, early poison the well and several others. i used to listen to this and Taken - Overshadowing at 100 East over and over again.

  • Agree with dw. Early Underoath and Hopesfall were so amazing and full of emotion.

  • i just fapped..

  • hopesfall's old stuff was so heart felt just like underoaths first cd. truly amazing

  • i had this CD and it got scratched and always skipped on the long epic bit at the end... i was pissed off!

  • @freshdamon i feel like i should thumbs down that post because that'd be like breaking an arm... painful as fuck :(

  • @xtheendofanerax thank god for the internet, i still have the CD but i Bought it like 9 years ago so i don't feel so bad downloading it these days especially because they have broken up due to their bellow par albums good band but a bit inconsistent

  • one of NC's best bands. and for those who talk shit, every hopesfall cd is amazing in it's on way, you have to appriciate the music and musicianship put in to writing such amazing music

  • this was when hopesfall was good

  • at 4:22 is one of the smoothest most imaginative drum beats ive heard in a while, this is my favorite ep of all time, and thanx for posting it

  • years passed, and this song is still a soul owner.

  • By fay my favorite song of all time. It has been my favorite now for 8 years and I don't think that'll ever change.

  • @TSerf08

i feel the same, this EP is beautiful, never gets old for me

  • Holy shit i forgot all about this song. We used to listen to this song in the cut ALL the time in high school. Now I'm gonna be missing high school all day...god damn it

  • The EP that changed metalcore in the early 00's.

If 3:19 to the end doesn't make you feel something you've never felt before, you might be dead.

  • @jaybreak The first time I heard this song I felt like my chest started flipping and rolling at 3:19

  • @jaybreak ive definitly felt that before, but not in this song. it was in actually good music.

  • @EthanNeitzelt65 Musical preference is relative. Nice try.

  • @jaybreak it's post-hardcore, not metalcore

  • @jaybreak I felt it right at the beginning actually. :P

  • Haha this is awesome...Jake from August Burns Red said this band is the reason he started screaming

  • @SpencaDrum Seriously?! That's amazing. O_O

  • being the bassest and song wrighter for a metlecore band (vorteil) i only hope that one day we will be that good the song in whole is awsome and highly meaningfull we hope to be the next big thing in metlecore we have our stuff up on facebook tell us what you think

  • love this song and this is the best of hopesfall but their other stuff is awsome too

  • this E.P. was the best thing this band ever did, in my opinion. I like all of their albums as they played a huge part in my early teenage/highschool years, I just kinda had to learn to accept them as a totally different band when A-Types came out and Ryan Parrish was gone. just wasn't the same, although I love A-Types and most of Magnetic North.

  • Epic isn't an Epic enough word to describe how Epic this band were!!!

  • Kick ass song!

  • i bet this song would change my life if i knew what the fuck they where saying

  • @kev1364 Lyrics are easy to find my brother, and the vocals aren't super fast so you should be able to keep up..it's not that hard..

  • @kev1364 My searching eyes have never been so intrigued to see you I guess you found a way to make ten minutes last forever With each passing moment we drift further away... Closer to our chosen paths But I can't help remembering what was... What might have been But I have been warned by those who have passed this way before and to them I am grateful and as for you i am also grateful... and I pray you find the peace you have been longing for Epic..
  • This is real post hardcore bands like this poison the well reflux true bands not like now that post hardcore is popular because the emos kids now you find fucking emo bands that say that are post hardcore everywhere

  • @reazul95 GRAMMAR. LEARN IT.

  • I hate to sound like one of those "I only like their old stuff" people... But I just can't get into A-Types/Magnetic North. This stuff is great though.

  • Hopesfall made me pick up a guitar seven years ago. These days I barely find time to play once a month, but this song is always the first song I put on to play along to when I do.

  • I think it's so awesome that this song is significant is some phase of so many people's lives, even bridging the Atlantic to Germany. Just goes to show that when great music is created it can't be denied its effect and will stand the test of time.

  • Still the best intro ever, makes me feel like a Viking marching into war.

  • Many years later this is still my favorite song.

  • Timeless.

  • this band sucks like jackson lee theamazingjackson typ that in and listen to his talent vid he suck i know him in real lifeeeeeeeee

  • aww man brings back old memories

5 years ago, when i was 16. Good times!!!!

  • I rocked this EP in my car for so long. Totally awesome.

  • in germany also. going to highscool with skycamefalling, hopesfall, the bled and later orchid, saetia... on headphones. this have been times...

  • im in the reminds me of high school crew....hopesfall poison the well and the bled changed me musically forever

  • Skycamefalling, Old Hopesfall, Poison the well and This day forward will always be my favorite Bands of all time.

  • @Fearshifter +1 for Poison the well

  • @Fearshifter i have to cosign on the + for PTW

  • @Fearshifter you have to throw in 'a long winter' never really made it big but an incredible band.

  • Easily one of my favorite songs ever. It takes me back to my highschool days and all the fun times me and my friends had. Shout out to p. walters, p.c. bean, shumate, A.G, and kruse nipples haha

  • Man I miss there older stuff. I loved it when they were more screamo/hardcore. I like the new music but it just was way more unique to me having it melodic with screaming over the music. It fit so well ^_^

  • Love the riff at 2:42

  • YES!

  • This song have been my all time favorite for years. I like hearing them live but prefer the recorded version. Thank you for posting this.

  • Much love love to the Charlotte, NC music scene that these guys came from. Im from Illinois and moved to Charlotte recently and I have to give it to Charlotte for being just as competitive as the Chicago music scene. HOPESFALL RULES!!!!!!!!!!

  • This song still gives me goose bumps :)

  • no wings to speak of is a masterpiece

  • godamn this song takes me back.

  • Fuuuuckkkkkk... this brings me back. Used to listen to this song on repeat 6 years ago in high school. Still gives me chills.

This song changed my life. Seriously.

  • ditto

  • @awesomemass just curious, how did it change your life? ahha. maybe i take things too literally...

  • @uppercut613 Probably because it made him appreciate real music and in turn be able to think for himself and not be a robot..just my guess. :)

  • @awesomemass

    i did the same :P

  • @awesomemass Dude, Hopesfall changed my life in highschool too, one of the best memories listening to these guys.

  • Absolutely their best album.

  • One of the all time best EPs i've ever experienced. And i say experienced because it deserves more than just listening. "I pray you find the Peace you've been longing for" EPIC!

  • Love this tune!
