To me i think the sonic series has a shit ton more nostalgic value than mario. Mario has barley changed at all in his 25 years. But sonic has changed so much that it makes the older games that much more nostalgic. Its a great feeling.

I think the animators wanted to make this sort of a movie based on Sonic CD. Hence the fact it's animated just like the intro and endings. In fact, I think they sort of remade scenes from the intro itself in some parts of the film.

This Sonic movie was not bad at all, it had funny mand has moments followed the Sonic CD game story. The battle with Metal Sonic was great, but there was one thing that i hated, why did they put Knuckles flying like superman? I prefer the good air gliding style. Would be great if they made a movie following the events in Sonic 3 and Sonic and Knuckles.

its cool, you matched the movements in the movie to the animation used in sonic cd and u matched parts pretty closely. For instance, the ending when he is falling down the edge of the mountain, just like in the original opening. Good stuff

@pappflora12 Both, sorta. Sonic CD is a game for the Sega CD console that, if I'm not mistaken, takes place between Sonic 1 and Sonic 2.

A few years later, this anime movie was created. Its story is different than that of SCD (there is no mention of Amy, Little Island, or the Time Stones), but the animation is extremely similar, and the villain is Metal Sonic.

Sonic CD is a game. It came AFTER Sonic 2...before Sonic 3. It's not a movie, not at all. Unfortunate though. Sonic Team made plans for Sonic the Movie after the game launched. It has nothing to do with the game, however, it does shows Eggman's second use of Metal Sonic. Pappflora, the animation is similar because the same people who drew the animation for Sonic CD's intro and outro are the same people who drew the movie...dah! lol

No problem my friend. And yeah, officially there is no mention of Amy's birthplace, though she first appeared in Sonic CD. She found Sonic via tarot cards, so it's hard to guess if she [some how] found her way onto Little Planet, or lived there in the first place.

Hmm, I haven't given it much thought. If she used tarot cards then she certainly must have known about Sonic for some time now. Little Planet only comes down to Earth/Mobius once a month [or is it one month per year?] over that magical lake. So I'd think she was born on Earth but somehow managed to get on Little Planet after she figured out that Sonic is there. I very likely could be wrong though!

Loads better both voiceover and audio wise. Now don't get me wrong I like Dan Green and Jason Griffith, among the other dubbers, but the dialogue is a bit corny imo, and at times doesn't seem to make sense. Also the audio sounds the same as what has been used in other 4kids dubs. Where as the japanese audio isn't as generic. Heck they even used "Live And Learn" when Shadow and Sonic were saving the Earth from The Ark.

Rouge gets the ring, not Chris. Shadow didn't exactly have a relationship with Chris.

Well, the movie isn't truly based on Sonic CD, because it doesn't mention the Time Stones, Amy being kidnapped by Metal Sonic, or Little Planet. I do believe several parts of the movie were inspired by the game, though (for instance, the big neon Eggman picture from the ending animation of Sonic CD is clearly visible in Eggmanland). As for the song, I have no idea of the name, but it plays near the beginning of the Sonic movie.
