At northwest of the NPP is the city named Pripyat, which is close to the river (also named Pripyat).
But if you take a look at your Map in the game, you will see that Pripyat City is at south of NPP. Which proves you start near the border of Belarus (Cordon).
wrong, irl red forest is south of Pripyat and Chernobyl NPP so actually it was kinda just to make it that the more north you go the dangerous the zone gets.

The game looks good (runs awesomely in my poor machine: 2ghz dual core, 8500gt, ~2,5g ram), its very fun to play, it can be used with DX10 (vista/7) for even more awesomeness, the modding capablities are endless and there are very active modders sharing their awesome mods in the games community forum. Its VERY atmospheric (scary when you explore radiated tunnels, etc) theres also multiplayer.

I agree with him. Clear Sky is bugged beyond fixability, the plot is dull, and it just doesn't add anything new and exciting to the franchise. Faction Wars would have been a great new feature... i dont think it was a step backwards, theyve done good things in it. dx10, customising etc.
However, Clear Sky does have one thing I LOVE. DX10.1, I mean... DAMN! I maxed out the graphical settings (including the advanced settings and AA) and turned DX10.1 on and I was litterally blow away. It's like playing a whole different game. The lighting, and soft particles are damn near life like. The Skies are what really impressed me, they created such a strong atmosphere.
Guess they don't call it Clear Sky for no reason.

This game is conceptually different from anything Crytek ever made. If you stopped being a graphics whore and actually played the game, you'd know the difference.
FARCRY is a very commercial game where you "have fun" and say "awesome" with a stupid face while pointing at the screen.
S.T.A.L.K.E.R. is a game where you actually feel cold and weak in a harsh environment and when you run away you feel like you're running for your life.
FARCRY still is much better than most games, I'll give you that.

I had this event when like a thousand pseudodogs attacked me, they first destroyed the next village from Clear Sky Base and then attacked me, they didn't do any damage to me and they exploded from the first hit when I shot them, was that a bug? Or some scripted thing?
you know... i donno what happened but i had my merc suit till i found the duty base.I joined duty and i finished the game with the duty suit (0 durability). I didn't find any else suit in the game. But i used a modified Vintar BC and armor piercing bullets and it was great
Well, it has a ton of realism elements, so it's not like Rambo style games, you need to rush for cover, conserve your ammo, sneak upon the enemy whenever possible, you can't carry 1000's of ammo and lots of weapons and all that.I recommend it, it's one of my favourite.And about RPG elements, it's mostly about weapons(accuracy, damage, handling...) and bodysuits(bulletproof, rupture & hazrdous protection).
ya its fun and there is also a very talented modding community attached to it one of which is the stalker mod oblivion lost for stalker shadow of Chernobyl and ABC MOD. not sure about clear sky though on the mods but im sure there will be some comming out soon. I love the mods cuz when u get tired of the regular game go DL some mods and make it new again :P.
I liked the game too, but I found the numerous bugs and glitches to be pretty annoying. I would still highly recommend it for anyone that likes this kind of game.

It looks so dull. The hands/gun don't move at all while moving... I mean, looks like an interesting story, but with Crysis out and Crysis : Warhead / Farcry 2 coming out, it doesn't really stand a chance. AI wise, graphic wise, realism wise, and overall story/feel. Feels more like... Timeshift or something.

It's not technically contradicting myself because like i've said. The game is alright, but it's not up to standards. It's a decent play, but in no one way comprable to modern games. Yah, it had more annoying things then good, but the story was enjoyable. It's quite a simple concept. It feels like Timeshift did when it came out for the Xbox 360. It was an ok game, but not next gen at all, it felt like an older game. Either way, to each man his own. (weirdo...)
Let's say long enough to experience the actual ending ( ending C-C ) , the one where you get absorbed by the monolith, and the one where you see a clean Chernobyl, but you notice Strelok's been blinded from the truth. Now though, no one said SoC sucked. I enjoyed the game a whole lot and loved the story. I however AM disappointed with Clear Sky as it does not deliver what I believe to be the standard for a 2008 game following a fantastic game. SoC? Hell yes. Clear Sky? Ehhhh.

And FYI the actual ending is the one where you say no to joining C-Consciousness, kill them a bunch of exoskeleton dudes and the C-Consciousness guys, and then take a nap in the pretty flowers. Anyways, I'm more in the position where I'm just glad to have more stalker. I don't care if it's up to par with some boring Crysis 2 shit or whatever, I just want to keep playing stalker. And new places, people, weapons and story is just a bonus.
Ah, yah, I forgot about that ending. Never did it, but I recall seeing a friend say no and take on the heavy onslaught of dudes. But yah, the story will make me play it either way. Just wish they had added some more neato features and such.
All endings except the true SoC ending end up with the Wish Granter, which is revealed to be a hoax which allows the C-Consciousness to brainwash and captivate all those who reach it, in order to use them as slaves in defending the Chernobyl Facility (a la Monolith).
Um, ak74, ak74u and ak47 are all different rifles. They are not an upgrade of the ak47.

This game is conceptually different from anything Crytek ever made. If you stopped being a graphics whore and actually played the game, you'd know the difference.
FARCRY is a very commercial game where you "have fun" and say "awesome" with a stupid face while pointing at the screen.
S.T.A.L.K.E.R. is a game where you actually feel cold and weak in a harsh environment and when you run away you feel like you're running for your life.
FARCRY still is much better than most games, I'll give you that.

I hate how are the hand and weapon done in this game, they are like stuck on the screen and dont move but in crysis they move up and down and hide when you run and stuff...

Bloodsuckers are invisible, they already were in the first STALKER.
They turn visible when they die, so you can see one flying away at 1:18 - major WTF there too, since there were no explosions...

I had this event when like a thousand pseudodogs attacked me, they first destroyed the next village from Clear Sky Base and then attacked me, they didn't do any damage to me and they exploded from the first hit when I shot them, was that a bug? Or some scripted thing?

you know... i donno what happened but i had my merc suit till i found the duty base.I joined duty and i finished the game with the duty suit (0 durability). I didn't find any else suit in the game. But i used a modified Vintar BC and armor piercing bullets and it was great

Well, it has a ton of realism elements, so it's not like Rambo style games, you need to rush for cover, conserve your ammo, sneak upon the enemy whenever possible, you can't carry 1000's of ammo and lots of weapons and all that.I recommend it, it's one of my favourite.And about RPG elements, it's mostly about weapons(accuracy, damage, handling...) and bodysuits(bulletproof, rupture & hazrdous protection).

ya its fun and there is also a very talented modding community attached to it one of which is the stalker mod oblivion lost for stalker shadow of Chernobyl and ABC MOD. not sure about clear sky though on the mods but im sure there will be some comming out soon. I love the mods cuz when u get tired of the regular game go DL some mods and make it new again :P.

I liked the game too, but I found the numerous bugs and glitches to be pretty annoying. I would still highly recommend it for anyone that likes this kind of game.

The funniest part is when you encounter Marsh Bloodsucker with Duty party in script scene in your first visit of the Agroprom.Especially at night.

i thought the exact same as you... SOC was amazing but here in the uk the game came out 2 days ago and i completed it.... clear sky was SHIT... it was a huge let down.. i say dont waste your money...i no your not gonna listen but its ok SOC was tht good i would of bought clear sky knowing this anyway ;]
overall its a 3/10 :(

u guys do know that this video was posted over a year ago, so first its obviously not the finished version and 2nd this video is not direct x 10, i got the game yesterday and with direct x 10 on maximum it looks a lot better than this, this video does not do the game any justice

It looks so dull. The hands/gun don't move at all while moving... I mean, looks like an interesting story, but with Crysis out and Crysis : Warhead / Farcry 2 coming out, it doesn't really stand a chance. AI wise, graphic wise, realism wise, and overall story/feel. Feels more like... Timeshift or something.

Obviously you've never played Shadow of Chernobyl (the first game, since you don't seem like you would know)
You really have no idea how fun this game is until you've played it. For me, Crysis was boring the second time, but this game...I just couldn't put it down. I could play it over and over again.
10/10, no questions.

Nah, I played it. Didn't fancy it much. It didn't look impressive and the game play was not as great as you people claim. The story though, I did like, which was only reason I played it. Once more, it's a cool game, but it's not up to this gen's standards.

It's not technically contradicting myself because like i've said. The game is alright, but it's not up to standards. It's a decent play, but in no one way comprable to modern games. Yah, it had more annoying things then good, but the story was enjoyable. It's quite a simple concept. It feels like Timeshift did when it came out for the Xbox 360. It was an ok game, but not next gen at all, it felt like an older game. Either way, to each man his own. (weirdo...)

Let's say long enough to experience the actual ending ( ending C-C ) , the one where you get absorbed by the monolith, and the one where you see a clean Chernobyl, but you notice Strelok's been blinded from the truth. Now though, no one said SoC sucked. I enjoyed the game a whole lot and loved the story. I however AM disappointed with Clear Sky as it does not deliver what I believe to be the standard for a 2008 game following a fantastic game. SoC? Hell yes. Clear Sky? Ehhhh.

Ahh, I see what you're saying. And FYI the actual ending is the one where you say no to joining C-Consciousness, kill them a bunch of exoskeleton dudes and the C-Consciousness guys, and then take a nap in the pretty flowers. Anyways, I'm more in the position where I'm just glad to have more stalker. I don't care if it's up to par with some boring Crysis 2 shit or whatever, I just want to keep playing stalker. And new places, people, weapons and story is just a bonus.

Ah, yah, I forgot about that ending. Never did it, but I recall seeing a friend say no and take on the heavy onslaught of dudes. But yah, the story will make me play it either way. Just wish they had added some more neato features and such.

All endings except the true SoC ending end up with the Wish Granter, which is revealed to be a hoax which allows the C-Consciousness to brainwash and captivate all those who reach it, in order to use them as slaves in defending the Chernobyl Facility (a la Monolith).
