@ET30001 Its an MG metro but not a Group B anymore. They're illegal since 1986, but all they did was change the engine from a Group B to a Smaller engine.
@M1lesPerHour You can do. Don't know about the Omox, but all every time I read about the Bee*R its normally because its fucked someones engine up. If you want launch control you are better off doing it with a proper ECU and remap then using a cheap ignition cutting device like a Bee*R.
@tbtstt ...ecu has fuck all to do with launch control...the car ius technically in 1st and driving..it is only been held on the handbrake..which cuts the diff
@brianm00re A number of road cars can run launch control via an Ecutek (or similar) remap, or by changing the ECU for a Simtek, Syvecs, Pectal etc.
ECU controlled launch limits the revs when the car is stationary, so you put the clutch in, have the throttle pedal all the way to the floor and the launch control limits the revs to a preset RPM (instead of banging off the limiter)
When you lift the clutch and start moving you already have full throttle engaged.
@tbtstt ..yes but technically thats not launch control..in the video all the wrc cars are using the official launch control which is the handbrake splitting on the centre diff
@brianm00re Absolutely. However the original question (from andrewcovie) asked about the use of launch control systems on road cars, not what system the WRC cars use. ECU controlled launch control is about the closest you are going to get on a road car unless you have a lot of money kicking around for a WRC setup!
Loving the really agressive anti-lag on the Corollas!!

Awesome video! Love watching how the cars "side step" as they launch - guess thats what happens when you have so much torque to launch with!
And the video also has the added of bonus of including McRae in his 6R4 - brilliant!

launch control is sick ! can u put it on road cars or is that illegal?
andrewcovie 1 year ago
@andrewcovie Yes, with the correct ECU and a suitable map(s), road cars can run launch control.
tbtstt 1 year ago
@tbtstt Or just buy an omox or bee r launch controller
