Instead of sending soldiers to protect private US companies running in Haiti that it worked so hard for while backing the military coup against Aristide and furthermore the death squads, why doesn't the US send more food/medicine/machineries that the people need so desperately. The US government simply can't look beyond its own interests.

Chomsky did you ever think that the reason for the intervention was because of the violence due to the poverty. You act as if we caused the poverty, we didn't, we just intervened whenever things got out of control. We didnt intervene and then things got bad, you've got your cart before your jackass.

Well it just so happens that an example is going on right now Haiti. The US Military has been sent in to restore order and help with relief efforts. Ten years from now, when the earthquake is long since forgotten, Chomsky will use this as an example of US military intervention. What record are you referring to? The records you make up in your tiny brain as you type don't really count in the real world. Nice try though.

Furthermore, just because a country is rich, it does not neccesarily mean there are no issues eg 90 % of the wealth of the country could be with 1% of the population, thats not unheard of. Also South Africa was rich during apartied, Germany was rich duriing Hitlers reign and Western Europe was rich when slavery was legal. So, the wealth of a country is not the only indicator of a humane, 'successful' country.
