Her voice sounds way older than she is...too bad...you should listen to Anne-Catherine Gillet, that's the correct French style. This Micaela sounds more like a Russian doll.

Absolutely breath taking ! Her voice is truly a gift from God. I speak French fluently and for a non-native speaker, her pronunciation and diction is remarkable. And she is absolutely stunningly beautiful as well. We all need to thank God for his gift to us of the remarkable woman, Anna, je t'aime !

You can like the voice of A.N. or not, her style or not - but being French and teaching French, I find her French extremely good, although it's not a must in Carmen where everybody is Spanish.

I love the look of this lady and, at times, there are some very exciting sounds made. Unfortunately, she has no clue what repertoire she is supposed to be singing and it is beginning to show up in vocal ticks. Listen carefully to the evenness of the vibrato (or more precisely, the unevenness of the vibrato). It's a pity really because it is a gorgeous instrument.

she kinda messed the aria up but i like the dramatic flair she brings...makes it interesting. Her voice also sounds more consistent..not as sharp.

In Vienna, Netrebko could go on stage and burp, she'd get a 20 minutes standing ovation! Public went totally frenzy for her though Micaela is a micro role and her performance was not exceptionnal (good but not exceptionnal). I was a bit disappointed for I thought people in Vienna gave more importance to artistry than fame. Even grandmas I asked about the performance told me "Yes garanca is not there but netrebko will sing and she is so good that everybody comes". ooO_Ooo
