  • Interesting, looks about exactly the same. If im charging at 4.4A on a 4400mah pack, would the AC6 generally get hot or need the use of a fan for cooling? My mrc superbrain gets nearly 200F easily charging at only 4A on nimh packs. Great review. I cant wait to get my ac6.

  • which is better

  • damn i never knew how similar they were.

  • Skycharger has built in balancer so theres no additional plug to loose or get broken like the AC6. So with that said I gave the AC6 to my friends kid since he dosent charge Lipos and I kept the Skycharger.

  • 5 dollar difference between the two chargers.

  • great comparison vid. I am curious whether there is a price difference between the skycharger and the thunder ac6

  • what kind of batteries do you charge with it ?can it charge 6-8 cell nimh r/c car batteries and does it charge 2-3 cell r/c car lipo batteries?

  • @elcanapas11

I charge mostly 2 cell 5000mah lipo's, but I have charged 5,6,7 cell nimh at 3200 and 4300mah. also 2 cell lipo 250mah, and a couple 3 cell lipo's 2600mah. Everything has charged well and I have had this unit since before thanksgiving and no problems.

  • I just want to update you guys, i now have 4 of these chargers and they are flawless, I would opt for the sky charger with the built in balance board, my buddy has 2, and there are 3 more at the track, no problems at all. Great deal.

  • hello, do you recomend the Thunder AC6 or the Skycharger? i need to buy a good charger to charge my lipos and A123, what do you recomend?

  • the sky and the thunder are basically the same, the sky has better stickers and the balance ports are built in. The sky just looks better. For more money and a external power supply hobbyking has the gt6 that will charge up to 10 amps or 200w, one of the guys at the track uses it and has had good luck charging his 3 cell 5000mah lipo.

  • No, when you charge the lipo you plug the balance jack in to the balance port, and it does the balancing act on its own. This charger is really cool because as its charging it pauses the charge cycle and tests the voltage of the battery with out a load on it for its true voltage then it continues until it stays at the voltage its looking for. I have also used it to charge my 4200mah nimh stick packs and my transmitter batteries, and its a champ. I'm sure as long as it holds up its a winner.

  • Great Video!!

I have a question for you about the Thunder AC6....

Do i have to charge my Lipo under Lipo charge setting, then after that go into the Balance setting to balance my battery once it finishes charging?Or do i just select regular charge and it will also balance
