I don't understand if a pregnant woman is attacked and her unborn baby dies as a result of that attack, the attacker goes to jail for a murder count on that unborn baby, but a doctor can take the life of that unborn baby and thats moral and legal? then there is my body my choice right? U can chose to terminate that baby thats legal but if you put drugs in UR pregnant body you get charged with endangerment to the child? so U can't just do what you want with UR body while pregnant! makes no sense.

Actually 3% of abortions are for rape/incest victims. Now, does what's going on outside change what's going on inside. The baby's heart is still beating. At seven weeks, it still has a head, a heart, hands, legs, organs. It's clearly human. It is immoral to steal so it is against the law. To try and separate morality and law into separate categories is a contradiction. Any system of law is by its nature a definition of morality. Law is the code, ethics (or, morality) the way we live out the code.

It is unthinkable to me to think about carrying my rapist's baby to term because someone else decided I should. Un. Thinkable. Talk about violation.
Also, what clinic allows a woman in 3 days after a test? Most places make you wait a week or longer to think it over, or because they don't have time to schedule you until then. That was irresponsible on the clinic's part.

I am in no way undermining the pain (since I know it well) but I am saying that the child is innocent in all that and yes, it's sad that only the woman gets the consequences, but there isn't much we can do about it.

She says she found out that she was pregnant on a tue...meaning she had probably been pregnant for at least 10 days...pleanty of time for the child to develop. Even three days is enough time. From the moment of conception the fetus is growing and dividing. She could have only known she was pregnant after a certain number of days because hCG, a hormone tested for in pregnancy, is only detectable after a certain time frame.

I thought to myself, God gave me an angel for a child. Well, she is almost 16 years old and I haven't had a problem out of her yet. She's obedient, she doesn't even like to go out. She likes to stay at home with me. I thought when I was her age I wanted to date but she doesn't even think like that. She says she wants to stay a virgin forever. I wondered if this child end up being a boy and look like his father. There is no way I can look at this child everyday and not think of that horrible night. I thought I would just put the child up for adoption because there are so many women in the world who can't have children but want them. When the baby was born I didn't want to see the baby until the doctor said it was a girl. My daughter is awesome. When she was old enough to talk, I would wake up and see her on her knees praying.
I know I don't regret for one second of not aborting my beautiful daughter. I had nightmares about the night I was raped night after night. I found out I was pregnant at 16 weeks. I kept telling myself that it is no way I could be pregnant by that man. What more do I have to suffer? I thought of having an abortion but I thought, why would I give the death penalty to this child? This child is a victim just like me. This baby is my child too.
The statement that no woman ever regretted not having an abortion is absolutely untrue. There most certainly are women who regret having children and raising them, there are most certainly women who regret having children and giving them up for adoption as well as women who regret terminating their pregnancies. Taking these choices away from other women based on these experiences is completely insane.

If that were true, you would not advocate for the government to have rights over pregnant women's bodies. A person (including a child)does not have the right to force any bodily invasion (including a blood test) on another person (including his/her parents) yet you would afford this right to a fertilized egg? I'm not advocating forcing anyone to be pregnant, I'm advocating the government protecting the rights of human beings. Sadly the end of my mother's story has been written. She died 2 years ago after a long marriage full of abuse because she believed it was the right thing to marry the man who got her pregnant.

You can risk your physical health with the abortion procedure so that is a poor argument. Women who raise the baby after being raped do often have emotional problems through the child being a constant reminder of the rape. When you put it up for adoption will no more be traumatized their whole life than those who abort.
That does not answer why should I risk my health for other people (not for a decision I'd freely make) when there are children already in need of loving home? Everything has a risk, but the documented risks of early abortion are nowhere close to labor and delivery. I'll not risk my life for something I don't want to do.
There's still the act of gestating you are forgetting about. Adoption doesn't change that. If the fetus embyro could be removed instantly and adopted, I'd agree with you.
I am not suggesting becoming pregnant for the benefit of people who want to adopt. I am talking about a baby already forming, and that adoption (though already stretched thin) is a better option than murder. I would take the risks if it involves saving another's life, because the risks of giving birth are not so high it is not worth the chance, especially when there are risks for abortion as well.

You were using that version of the definition to make a point that murder was not being committed.

I'm really not sure where I stand on abortion in regards to American law, but does anyone know any facts comparing Ireland and the rest of Europe in regards to abortion? As I understand it, Ireland is the only country in the EU in which abortion is illegal and I can't seem to find much in the way of information comparing the Irish health and legal systems with the rest of Europe's.

adoption. There's all kinds of help for (young) women in your situation. Ask. Look in the Yellow Pages under 'abortion alternatives' or 'prolife pregnancy counseling', or a similar heading, or just Google in "American Life League" or "Care Net", two fine ProLife groups. All these organizations are staffed with very kind and loving women, who'll typically help you with nearly anything you need. And when you finally
deliver your child you'll fall in love with your baby as Moms usually do, at which point you can decide what to do next. Whether you choose to raise your child yourself or give him or her up for adoption, it won't be easy. But I think your heart will be at ease and full of love for your child whichever of the two difficult alternatives you choose. That's what usually happens.

Has anyone ever heard of Bound4life before? Were not angry protesters to say we'll kill people for believing against us but not truly us but God. How many casualties need to happen?! Could it possibly be because crazy ass pro-lifers are willing to kill people over their loss and that miscarriage can be a very personal and emotionally upsetting thing. Actually 3% of abortions are for rape/incest victims. Now, does what's going on outside change what's going on inside. The baby's heart is still beating. At seven weeks, it still has a head, a heart, hands, legs, organs. It's clearly human. I am in no way undermining the pain (since I know it well) but I am saying that the child is innocent in all that and yes, it's sad that only the woman gets the consequences, but there isn't much we can do about it.

She says she found out that she was pregnant on a tue...meaning she had probably been pregnant for at least 10 days...pleanty of time for the child to develop. Even three days is enough time. From the moment of conception the fetus is growing and dividing. She could have only known she was pregnant after a certain number of days because hCG, a hormone tested for in pregnancy, is only detectable after a certain time frame.

- A baby needs alot of care,love and time. The mom has to sacrifice all of these. Is that what she really wants. It's her life. And in this case, she asked for it. Some people who are raped don't really have the choice. As much as i feel the baby just got caught in it all but too bad. Since when did life be fair? I thought to myself, God gave me an angel for a child. Well, she is almost 16 years old and I haven't had a problem out of her yet. She's obedient, she doesn't even like to go out. She likes to stay at home with me. I thought when I was her age I wanted to date but she doesn't even think like that. She says she wants to stay a virgin forever. She is not wild, she doesn't do drugs, drink alcohol, or do any of the things I hear teens do. She has been nothing but a blessing to me. She's an angel.

I wondered if this child end up being a boy and look like his father. There is no way I can look at this child everyday and not think of that horrible night. I thought I would just put the child up for adoption because there are so many women in the world who can't have children but want them. When the baby was born I didn't want to see the baby until the doctor said it was a girl. My daughter is awesome. When she was old enough to talk, I would wake up and see her on her knees praying.

I know I don't regret for one second of not aborting my beautiful daughter. I had nightmares about the night I was raped night after night. I found out I was pregnant at 16 weeks. I kept telling myself that it is no way I could be pregnant by that man. What more do I have to suffer? I thought of having an abortion but I thought, why would I give the death penalty to this child? This child is a victim just like me. This baby is my child too.

If that were true, you would not advocate for the government to have rights over pregnant women's bodies. A person (including a child)does not have the right to force any bodily invasion (including a blood test) on another person (including his/her parents) yet you would afford this right to a fertilized egg? I would advocate the government to protect everyone regardless of their age, gender, race religion or ethnicity.
I advocate that people should have a right to do what they will with their bodies (i.e. use drugs). So long as they aren't hurting anyone else.

Further, forcing a woman to remain pregnant and give birth despite the fact that this would cause her harm is in direct conflict with your statements. In addition, nothing is being done to a "child"; the point of terminating a pregnancy is to prohibit the birth of a child.

Sadly the end of my mother's story has been written. She died 2 years ago after a long marriage full of abuse because she believed it was the right thing to marry the man who got her pregnant.
I do the best I can with my life. I volunteer with a breast cancer charity (I'm male and I do it to honor women). I'm uncertain if abortion is the best choice for a woman to make. I leave the choice to the individual woman.
Perhaps "choice" could include safe ways for women to escape / prevent violence.

Women who raise the baby after being raped do often have emotional problems through the child being a constant reminder of the rape. When you put it up for adoption will no more be traumatized their whole life than those who abort.

That does not answer why should I risk my health for other people (not for a decision I'd freely make) when there are children already in need of loving home? Everything has a risk, but the documented risks of early abortion are nowhere close to labor and delivery. I'll not risk my life for something I don't want to do.
There's still the act of gestating you are forgetting about. Adoption doesn't change that. If the fetus embyro could be removed instantly and adopted, I'd agree with you.

I am not suggesting becoming pregnant for the benefit of people who want to adopt. I am talking about a baby already forming, and that adoption (though already stretched thin) is a better option than murder. I would take the risks if it involves saving another's life, because the risks of giving birth are not so high it is not worth the chance, especially when there are risks for abortion as well.

Also to make an appointment and going in for consultations for the abortion is forethought.

I added it because that it the definition of murder, per merriam webster. I agree you could have no feelings, and that's why murder it tried on a case-by-case basis...but it is the definition of the word.

I'll give you that you didn't add it yourself (sorry for the misunderstanding, however that is one of the several definitions of murder. There are different kinds of murder (that being one of them) so the dictionary has to basically go down the list. One is also "to slaughter wantonly". You were using that version of the definition to make a point that murder was not being committed.

There is also a definition as simple as "to put an end to life". My point was simply that it still is murder (which it is) so it is not a tool for guilt. If anyone feels guilty it is because they have realized the truth.

If murder is simply "to put an end to" then gargling in the morning is murder, eating meat is murder and making an arrangement of flowers is murder.
Abortion is not murder. How is abortion "slaughter wantonly"? Abortion does not fit there, either. I've never know a woman to wake up and go, "Oh, I think it would just be fun to go an abort. YIPPEE!!"

Wow you missed the point entirely; I was saying that is one of the many definitions showing you how it is not wise to pick and choose your own definitions as you did in order to try to prove your point. If you want I can go fishing for a definition of murder that would be exactly what abortion is. That is my point, various definitions prove your point as much as they prove mine so they do not further the argument with their inclusion.

No, the point is that you can include a lot of things that are not "murder" into a vauge definition. But, we already know that things like facts, accurate definitions and being truthful mean nothing to you.

That is funny because it has been you utilizing vague definitions to make your point not me. I have actually tried teaching you (unsuccessfully) why it does not truthfully further your point when picking what definition servers you best. I simply gave examples of vague definitions to show WHY you should not pick and choose and you made a sorry attempt to turn it around on me to make ME look as foolish as you had, claiming I was using said definitions as the "correct" and "accurate" versions.

No I was not pulling out Webster and giving the one of many sub definitions of a word that fits your point like you do. I did not quote any dictionary. What I did was explaine the difference between what murder means as opposed to execution. Because, if you didn't know, there is a difference.

animalliberation...my friend just had a baby girl that was scheduled to die this summer at an abortion clinic...baby was UNWANTED at first. Now my friend is HORRIFIED that she ever thought of killing her little girl. being unwanted is about our attitudes not an attribute of the unborn baby. If a teen is unwanted by his friends, or even family is it alright to kill him? no...being wanted is not a prerequesite to be allowed to live.

I'm really not sure where I stand on abortion in regards to American law, but does anyone know any facts comparing Ireland and the rest of Europe in regards to abortion? As I understand it, Ireland is the only country in the EU in which abortion is illegal and I can't seem to find much in the way of information comparing the Irish health and legal systems with the rest of Europe's.

One interesting thing she said was about rape victims suffering twice through an abortion but would that victim rather suffer again or they have to live with a life long suffering of a child whose father raped their mother. Again I think that woman, the victim should choose what is right for them.

I dont think the young girl who gets an abortion because she was raped is going to feel violated as much as a sense of relief .9 monthes is a long time to carry around a sense of being violated .

thaimotorbike, murdering your own child does not unrape you. The unborn child should not be murdered for the sin of his father. Two wrongs do not make a right. The trauma of being raped should not be stacked on top of the trauma of murdering your own child -- such is not good for the woman or child.

Sure a religion that encourages good morality, loving your enemies, loving one another, charity. A religion that opposes murder, stealing, lying. This is the worst problem. Not genocide, not dictatorships, not poverty, not cancer or aids. Because I don't want anyone holding me back with morality regulations. Science doesn't say that there isn't wind though, nor that air doesn't exist. Christians are allowed to believe whatever they wish, but you have to admit, some of the beliefs people hold seem a bit far fetched to those who don't. Such as a man parting an ocean, the world being made in seven days complete with every living creature on earth, or that a all powerful man in the sky controls all the world. Has anyone ever heard of Bound4life before? Were not angry protesters to say we'll kill people for believing against us but not truly us but God. How many casualties need to happen?! Can you simply kill a baby with no feelings at all?! born or in the womb...It may be that people dont think about things personally until it affects them, but you have to open your heart. Think of yourself how would you feel if your mother aborted you or your siblings you love?

I've seen abortion video's, I've also seen heart surgery, cancer removal and a triple bi-pass preformed. No medical procedure is pretty, but they are nessisary. And somehow I'm not surprised you stooped down to the emotional blackmail. Could it possibly be because crazy ass pro-lifers are willing to kill people over their loss and that miscarriage can be a very personal and emotionally upsetting thing. Especially when the person wanted to keep that pregnancy. I don't know about everyone else, but when I'm hurt and upset I don't go on the news and broadcast it.

FYI Feliporivera..... A misscarriage is NOT a forced abortion but a natural process that happens when a women NATUARALLY LOSES HER PREGNANCY. Do not compare the two of them as being the same thing... its completely different.
