  • i was gay before i heared this song live by a bunch of college kids, im still gay....

  • The long hair guitar dude at times reminices me of Chuck Schuldiner...

  • You guys were amazing on the guitars and bass, but oh dear lord, your drummer was just atrocious.

  • too bad the sound quality is so poor because this kicks ass

  • Very very good guitar playing... but oh my dear god very very bad drumming.

  • what a great guitars you guys have there! good job!

  • bule mantap jg ni..ahhaha

  • Tell the drummer to quiet down. Largest problem with live bands, everything is either drowned out by the drummer or an over enthusiastic bassist with his amp cranked up.\

  • Rlly poor drummer

  • wow, you're amazing, ignore all the haters... you guys attacked Paul's master piece and that deserved to be respected

  • bad sound

  • nice uniforms. fricken underground!

  • That was great man, pretty cool how u were shreding in your school uniforms. The crowd was gobsmacked in disbelief,"hey isn't that dude in my maths class"?

  • wow your drummer is way too fucken loud

  • Excellent playing, especially on the solo.

    Nice guitar too.

  • i do love it when a JS and an RG come together,

    bravo you dudes :L

  • Comment removed

  • Does Gilbert prefer tremolo guitars or hard tails?

  • hard tail

  • FWIW back in the day, he did use trems on the PGMs

  • this isnt racer x u guys suck!!!

  • wow this is funny, i know mike. u guys sounded really good! mikes one of the best guitarist on staten island, he does alot of fusion stuff now i heard...

  • Go Roma GO!

really nice job... and what a formal outfit.

  • just awesome guys. I am speechless!!!

  • That was bullshit dude!! Now I mean bullshit in a good way. Nice playing!

  • your way too fast for the drummer, well or he's too slow but nice guitar cover.

  • I have an ibanez RG8427 (J custom)

the amps that were used were the house amps, I believe some solid state fender stuff... not the best sounding amps in the world. Maybe the other guy had the MG200 or something i don't remember. Thanks to everyone for their great comments. And lol @ ibanez z23... yeah that was me.... lol back when I had long hair.

  • Surprised and impressed. Roman, you look like you're a young dude, but I thought your technique and control was beyond your years. Most players in their late teens/early twenties tend to cram as many notes per second in as they can, and it usually ends up sounding like pentatonic scales on steroids. Good job man!

  • holy fuckign shit!!! were do I start??? how did you guys sound so perfect crystal clear? on stage?? wat amps where used?? by the way sexy ibanez guitar on stage! one was a 7string right long hair guy? men their alot of covers of this song done by 15yr olds and sound horrible but men the sound was amazing!! best vid!!

  • That was totally RAD!

Btw, what guitar do you have??

  • Fuck ElectricBanjo2468! That was sick man!!!

I'm trying to learn this song myself. Paul Gilbert is the best, end of story! LOL!

  • your not a real guitarist unless you use the pinkie, end of story

  • i use my pinkie when its comfortable

for example in the 16th note sextuplet sequences

but i guess really what I'm saying is post a video or shut up

  • @guitarplayerone u said it \\m//

  • @guitarplayerone How about you post a video that doesn't suck? Hahahahaha.

  • @guitarplayerone that a j custom?

  • @JgHaverty yes it is. rg8427. I've modded it since and it now has piezos too

  • @guitarplayerone VERY nice guitar man. Im jealous! Its probably worth all my guitars put together haha (I have some nice shit too haha).

kinda funny watching you play this in a shirt and tie :D

  • jimmy page almost never used his pinky asshole

  • Cause jummy page was gay

  • It's just the way he's learnt. It probably makes it harder for him but that's the way he's learnt.

Eric Clapton, probably one of the best guitarists going never uses his pinkie.

  • @ElectricBanjo2468 Check out Guthrie Govan and then say that real guitarist don't use their pinkies. He almost never uses it, and he is one of the best guitarist these days! It's all about what's comfortable for yourself when playing!

  • @FenderTobben ok if hes so good y aint i heard of him

  • @johntheguitarist77 He's not that famous yet, but you should check him out! : )

  • the guitar player with the long hair looks like

    Chuck Schuldiner(R.I.P) from Death

anyways pretty cool song liked it

  • lol that was me- definitely a compliment

  • wow man you fucking owned the solo and you guys are the shit.. like i could so see you guys up on a stage playing stuff like this except like it your own stufff... in other words yall should actually right your own stuff

  • lol yeah its coming.

  • were the fuck are they playing??? a funeral???? ahahah

  • nothing more metal lol... \m/ . but seriously, read the info

  • Great Job..!!!

  • WELL PLAYED. 5/5

  • Great job. I think the camcorder microphone is to blame for a lot of the perceived sound problems and out of balance feel that people are commenting on below. Very well done. Gilbert is really tough to cover well.

  • aww man you're too kind thanks.

  • 5/5 souds pretty great ;)

  • your drummer is shit. seriously

  • great job on gilberts solo

  • thanks a lot man. you're like the first person who's noticed lmfao

  • just throw my guitar.. again

  • Good job guys - be proud!

  • Love your emotions from 2:34

  • the individual skill is ok but if they mixed it will ruin everything the tempo is bad

the drummer is a lot of mistake and the guitar 2 is a lot of out of the tune

  • okay, they needed to stand up, that was fucking amazing

  • great video, loved it

  • Hey is that a j. craft ya got there?

  • its a J custom actually. Japan market only

  • very good!!! :D me likes it a lot! :)

  • I was there! My sister goes to CSI.

  • cool who's your sister? and what did you think of the preformance?

  • Laura Somma.

  • you two are amazing guitarists. how long have you been playing?

  • at that time about 7 years? thanks, but personally I feel the preformance wasn't 100% we had about a month and a half to learn and rehearse the song (and only 3 days with the drummer). still, I'm pretty happy with the way it came out overall

  • i am very impressed lol. its a great composition, fan of gilberts music. do you write your own material?

  • actually I do, but it doesn't sound much like Gilbert's stuff. If I had to describe it, it would be like Fredrik Thordendal's Special Defects combined with Liquid Tension Experiment with a little bit of In Flames and Lamb of God thrown in.

  • LOL I just spotted a Bassist. Doctor my eyes.. I think I'm blind

  • you can't hear him in the recording, but the Bill Gagliardi kept the rythym guitars and drums together in my solo section. He played his part perfectly even though he had very little time to learn and rehearse it, and honestly was absolutely indispensable. The preformance would have been a train wreck without him.

  • never because this is 10000x better than dragonforce

  • yeah released with his band racer x. google is your friend.

  • paul gilbert was in racer x duh

  • Lmao.

Dumb noob tries to be all sarcastic and show his 'knowledge' when he/she is wrong.

    Lol. He didn't lie.

You know, Paul was actually in a few bands before he went solo.

    Racer X and Mr. Big.

Look them up before you try to get smart.

  • lol fuck your stupid migue

  • lol poor drummer..

  • lol sounds like he is just hitting stuff

  • lol no i really feel bad for him, i mean the guitarists probably threw their soda cans at him after it was over, mistaking his low spot for a trash can.. lol i noticed him the 3rd time i watch the video, first time i watched i thought it was a backing drum track with bass.

  • lol we didn't do that. in his defense, as I said, he only had three days to learn and rehearse the song.

  • What was with your guitar tuning? Sounded like a half step off. Other than that, great work :)

  • Beautifull guitar, where u got it. Imported from Japan? Nice playing

  • Fucking awesome! Looks like a bandschool concert for parents, but so nice

  • lol thanks... that's more or less exactly what it was

  • awesomeeeee!! im 13 too, and covered this, please tell me what's missing in my version so i can play as good as you!!

  • absolutely nothing.. I wish I was as good as you when I was 13... rock on dude!!

  • he has a js, thats crazy

  • God Damn, that was awsome!!

  • you guys are sick!

  • wow sounds good boys

  • faster!faster!plizzz faster!!!ahahah

  • find a new drummer

  • Amen to that.

  • amen.

  • Drum is really bad

  • in the first part you guys were going faster and faster and you lost the drummer

  • meh. Nice J custom.

  • lol good job for the three days! little sketchy but hey =]

  • smashing job boys!

  • why do all guitarist who like to play insanely quick songs use ibanez?

  • thin necks?

  • ibanez necks are really thin and you can just fly on them, really easy to play

  • Some people find them easier. I personally like slightly bigger necks. Like the Jems

  • that. was freakishly amazing.

  • Dood awesome love that song!

  • u and ur drummer are kinda off sync. but u get props for doin it

  • we only had two or three days to rehearse with drums... for a total of maybe four to six hours

  • well i could've improvised better than your drummer practiced :D thats sad because you both guitar had it quite well...gj

  • Fantastic work.

  • Paul would trip on this. Nice work, to everyone involved here. peace, apb

  • love the solo tho u played it almost perfect

  • wow get on beat lol

  • god, that's AMAZING!!!

  • :) thanks

  • bravo

  • Damn. ur good!!! sudience sucked lol. any tips on how to play this song? im learning how to play it. and im having some problems with the string skipping and little fast parts in between each riff.

  • practice it really, really slowly. I used guitar pro and used the rythym trainer starting at 15% speed (with increases of 1% each time). I did this every day over the course of a month and a half. When I finished learning it, I was playing it at 125% speed (to ensure that I could play it no problems at regular speed)

  • thanx. best advice so far... ill try and find that feature....

  • practice it really really slow and don't race the metronome. lets say 30% speed on guitar pro, with 1% increase per loop. Also Paul's videos really do help with the alternate picking

  • damn dude you guys fucking kick assss. i promised myself i'd learn this song one day

    haha. keep it up man

  • Damn dude.... that kicked ass. I need to get on that level...

  • this is amazing, nice chops and great playing! keep rocking man!

  • you're a crazy man :)

    Good Job!

  • I used the house amp, I don't have my own yet.

  • Is that a Satch signature that your friend is using?

  • yup

  • sweet

  • nice job!\m/

  • loved the end wankery...lol

  • just the end, lol?

  • That was F***ing awesome

  • u pwn so much ass.

  • amazing~

    dude, you rocks!

    5* to you~

  • thanks a ton

  • hey, u deserve it~ you rocks!~

  • awsome man!!!!!!

I watch it every day XD

  • I am honored dude...

  • sik performance man gj! the only thing i would change is not have ure buddy solo over the interlude, sorta ruins the epicness of ure solo *****

  • hah, thanks dude... but it would have been fucked up if I did that- he is a very sick shredder too.

  • Awesome job.

  • nice you guys are great

  • very happy you guys dig it

  • Wooooow, pretty awesome, very hard song.

  • thanks dude! it was really fun to learn and play

  • nicely done, you sure rocked the house that night eh

  • dude major props for performing in general.

    nicely played. I enjoyed it

  • very glad you liked it dude... we worked hard...

  • well done! Nice guitars too! Check out our band playing this song you might dig it. Keep rockin !

  • thanks a lot dude... I love my J-custom

  • paul would be proud..

    great performance

  • thanks a lot dude

  • You make alot of excuses, not good :P

but it was kinda good anyway xD

  • I had a lot of questions about why the guitar sounded so deep, etc and specific parts of the song, etc. I figured I might answer them before they were asked on here. Glad you liked it

  • I see xD Sorry

    Good playing anyway :P

  • amazing 5 stars the only decent cover of the song on youtube

  • thanks a lot dude, really appreciate it

  • your welcome. you think you could give some free advice on guitar playing? thanks if you do

  • Nice dude. Finally got it done...

  • I said I would for a while... and I did, thanks dude..

  • You should have been prepared though! Those technical difficulties you listed were pretty funny lol. But theres always next time ;)

  • haha me and the drummer actually plan on continuing to rehearse this song... and I intend to learn the second guitar part, allowing me to just use a backing track to make a nice, perfect video of the song...

  • you seem to make a lot of excuses in your description but you're good man dont be so critical of yourself and neither will other people. you're very technical and you play this song quite well. i dig the tune. 3/5 worth a look.

  • Im sure you know what its like to have a deadline for a show-it was either play it that day or not play it at all...

  • nah man, you did excellent, that little bit at 1:54 by your other guitarist was alright, but still way to fast to be truly expressive cuz the brain cant think that fast. but you both are very talented. your solo at 2:30 was the best man, thats more my flavor. very nice emotion. and actually, ive never gigged before just jammed.

  • yeah, I really worked on making the notes come out for paul's solo. you should really try a show, theyre a lot harder from a technical standpoint, but the rush is incredible (regardless of what kind of music you play)

  • got to get a band together first. im a little too arrogant to work with anyone who wont play my musical vision.

  • Pretty sweet cover man.

  • thanks a lot dude

  • Shreddin' it live!! 5+

  • So much fun, thanks dude..
