plz where do you guys get these blue capacitors ? i dont mind spending some cash on them just ... i got around 10 capacitors from old TV's and cameras + some more total like 2000 uF / 400V but where do i get specially these blue ? Jsem z ceska btw

@7brok7 chlape, ak si z cr zohnat taketo kondy neje problem, teto mam z ceskeho aukra.. popripade este cekni ele fora, google a pod... daju sa zohnat lacno z druhej ruky

@plasmatron6 no to vsehcno jsem udelal a na netu jsou jen tz 300 uF / 400V ya 60 jeden :D jen bzmne prosimte yajimalo jakz parametrz ma ten velkej modrej, vidim ho poprve a na youtub eje docela popularni, diky za rychlou odpoved mimochodem

kedze moj TV955-160-16=1600V/160A

tvoj T955-250-04 bude zrejme 400V/250A

T200/400-D = 400V/200A

Hello can you try and help me with my coilgun i have 2 350vdc caps in paralle and a 150w bulb,i have the bulb going from dc+ into bulb and into +cap lead and 1 diode on each cap and a scr and a bridge rectifier,my problem is it will only charge up to 160vdc charging by mains and then i go to fire it with main power off but then the bulb just lights up again with no shooting, so if yours is mains powered can you tell or show me how you wired it up that would be great.thanks

Can i Ask where tou got the thyristor from and what the part number is?

i am currently using a 1.2KV, 50A thyristor, but once i upgrade my bank i doubt it will cope!

just finnished building my 480J bank today.... first fire killed my thyristor £28 down the drain in under 100mS :-/ lol.

@HVdischarge uff, i cant say that for sure cuz i have no experience with railguns, all i know; my thyristor should cope about 500A in pulse, hope that could help.. in my device it is impossible to kill it, even it survieves when i accitentaly connect 230VAC to Gate :D

mine should cope with around 1KA pulsed... from memory.

but it didnt like the railgun at all :-/.

230V to the gate!!! and there was me afraid of killing my gate bye pumping like a few hundred mA down it lol. maybe thats the problem.. that it needs more gate current to switch quicker to reduce the losses when switching? which i guess if too much, would instantly kill it.. like it did. not sure i want to put another £28 SCR back in to try it lol
