But I also hate how people are still doubting him because of the line, like LT didn't obviously lose a couple of steps (just keepin it real). Coming from a chargers fan I wouldn't want any other back right now but ryan mathews. LT and Ryan Mathews both run kind of similar and they both went into the draft underrated because they played in weak divisions, but have a ton of skill. If we don't draft this guy, we're idiots.
There are alot of good corners in this years draft so I think the texans will decide to choose a running back first, im not 100% sold on mathews, Slaton is still a good back and i dont think the texans are ready to give up on him so figuring out which back can best compliment him and also play in our zone blocking system is important.
as a chargers fan, i'd wanna see them take best over mathews to be honest. mathews is a band aid and isn't good in the pass game, and best is more of an every down back in my eyes. if they drafted mathews i bet they'd split carries (sproles and mathews) because sproles is a better pass catcher and adds more of a speed element. can't give mathews 20 touches every game in the nfl.

Ryan Matthews is a beast, he definitely one of the top 5 backs. He is reminds me a little bit of LT but he is far more powerful. He is going to do well, and also the team who picks up Toby Gerhart will have the most powerful back in the NFL Draft, the guy runs with so much power He has underrated elusiveness, he may not be the fastest back but again that power is going to be a factor and he can catch a pass out of the back. Watch out for Matthews and Gerhart, definitely going to turn some heads

Jahvid Best and Mathews are both great but I'd rather have a balanced back (mathews) over a scat back. If best put on like 10-15 pounds he'd be good. I just can't really see him being the type of back to run up the middle at his weight.

If hes "slow as shit..." how come no one is stoppin him? Official 40 time is 4.45... which is excellent for his size... Led in yds/game, yds/carry by any running back and if he didnt get injured he would have had most yds period!!! HEs an early 1st round drafted pick... predicted to be 2nd rb to be drafted

I say Ryan Matthews goes to the browns in the 2nd round he is good enough to go in the 1st but honestly he might slip into the 2nd or 3rd, harrison is the flash but Matthews would be the battering ram besides we need the return of Jim Brown now more than ever and to keep the rivalry with the Steelers alive. I understand what you're saying, speed would be Devine or Best, but muscle is well needed right now in the NFL, flashy backs are a dime a dozen. Mathews does break the big ones, but he ain't juking and spining to get there! One cut! Watch out for RM's right arm, Ive seen him stiff arm a CB, then immediately lift the CB into the air with one arm!

Ryan Matthews is a beast, he definitely one of the top 5 backs. He is reminds me a little bit of LT but he is far more powerful. He is going to do well, and also the team who picks up Toby Gerhart will have the most powerful back in the NFL Draft, the guy runs with so much power He has underrated elusiveness, he may not be the fastest back but again that power is going to be a factor and he can catch a pass out of the back. Watch out for Matthews and Gerhart, definitely going to turn some heads
