the reason why lçeft the colonies the way we did ws because communist bstards and traitors not obly to portugal but all the colonys, east timor wasnt ready for descolonization they needed more 10 years
I would really like to print some old photos of timor for a public collection in venilale, would you be opposed to some of these photos being used? Thanks, Sarah (sarahlouiseangus@gmail.com)
Thank you for these photos. I have done 2 peacekeeping tours and sadly most of my 2000 or so photos only show the devastation and sadness since the Indonesian invasion and the turmoil of 1999 and 2006. I do know that the countryside is beautiful and the towns of Ainaro and Suai were magestic in their day. Sadly I do not believe they will ever recover. I hope for the best for the people of Timor Leste.
I always wonder what i'll be like in the 60's in East Timor, my parents always told me it was great, happy times, but i was born too late, born in the jungle during the invasion and spent my child hood in Suai. Thank you for pics.
Glad you liked them. I had taken these pictures on a charter I crewed from Australia, and thought that they had some historical value considering all the changes that occurred since then.

Thanks for sharing the photos. I grow up and lived in Baucau. I was living there in 1966 at Plananalto near the Airport.
