  • this would be cool if I could hear it.

  • Where are you going, Life? It's up to you...

  • i can barely hear the piano :(

  • is this the same recording for the fantasia 2000? cause it sounded exactly the same :o

  • this interpretation was alright...i've heard better but anyways gd job.

  • Too fast and blurry.

  • I have always wanted to see what it looked like live from hearing this from United.

  • how long does it usually take to learn this piece on average ?ahahha i need to learn it by january-ish ahahha im playing with my schools wind symphony in march soo im really stressed haha

  • i wished they would mic the claranet solo -_-

  • where did they get the sheet music

  • @Guitrdude

LOL that are 40 sites of playing! BUY IT!

  • The last 1minute 30seconds is the best part

  • Can anyone get a NY philharmonic version on this?

  • At 5:12, there should be a piano solo, but there ISNT ONE THERE.... IT IS WRONG! AH... I hate wrong music!

  • MrBwerf YOU are wrong not the music. Please compare piano and orchestra version and piano solo reduction you will see that they are DIFFERENT exactly at 5:12. Please don't joke with George's music

  • @MrBWERF

No! That piano solo is later in the song! There are two videos to this song!

  • This is actually really a terrible version. This is not even close to the original version, plus, the orchestra is WAY too loud while the piano is supposed to be playing at around 3-4 minutes. Plus a piece of piano solo is cut twice between the 6th-9th minute. Obviously y'all have not heard the original piece of music.

  • i dont like that cymbal in the beggining

  • Makes me wanna fly United.

  • is that an oboe solo i hear?! O:

  • I like the faster one. Much better.

  • Omg is this disney hall? Cus if it is, I've totally sang there!

  • the pianist looks like Cousin It from the Adams Family

  • those double bass players are legendary

  • I'm looking for an actual video that I saw on The Arts Channel. Can someone upload it please? It's really cool! Like a dream!

  • qien es el solista de fagot? lo hace mbn =)

yo lo toko el domingo (el solo d fagot) en concierto =)

  • 7:23 even the pianist slip ups sound good

  • What a truly magical and enjoyable piece of music Rhapsody In Blue is!Rhapsody In Blue has Big Band written all "over"(throughout)its wonderful self!

  • 5:45 the double basses spin their instruments, XD I love that! :D I wish I could play this song, it's probably my favourite song.

  • It's quite hard to play. But, I think the pianist rushes it just a bit. I have listened to other versions and the pianist is throwing away notes - defeating the listening experience. Just my two cents. Still a nice song to listen to.

  • agreed, but still wonderful to listen to

  • You might not think the pianist is rushing if you hear Gershwin himself performing the piece. There are several such recordings posted on YouTube. Compared to modern versions, Gershwin's 1927 performance with the Paul Whiteman orchestra sounds super-rushed. But he was the composer; he knew how to play it!

  • spwrtryou're right!! I think the later and slower versions were done to give the untrained ear a better opportunity to follow it. Remember the "souls' in the piece may all be a modern innterpretation of something which was written as basically "classical"

  • This isn't a "slower" version. This is only the first half of the piece. The full rendition is 19 minutes. Minutes 10-19 are much more uptempo.

  • this is pretty much the only piece by gershwin that i'll listen to. amazing.

  • you should check out the 3rd mvt of Concerto in F. It's quite good

  • the pianist has some major skills

  • Reminds me of Jeeves and Wooster when they went to live in New York.

  • the violins don't do nothing :S

  • thats because YOU cant hear them

  • So evocative of Old New York

  • Where was this played?

  • In Brazil

  • The conductor was dancing to it.

  • so it the pianist. i love it when you can tell the performers are really enjoying themselves! :D

  • AFF, Esse Gershwin é uma ALTARQUIA!!! ficou massa velho! Parabéns!

  • Dá-lhe sr.Vieira!!!!

    hehehehe...ficou muito bom meu caro!!!

    Parabéns!!!!!

quero ver agora essa bachianas 3!!!
