MJ is the greatest, but he is not humble. He is probably the most driven, egotistical, confident, competitive athlete we've seen.....which is why he was the greatest.

@jordan135 We know these things about him now. But, when he was playing if you were to ask the casual fan they would say Michael Jordan is a class act. Humble guy. The other greatest athlete of all time is who? Who else? Muhammad Ali. Probably the most famous sports personality ever. If you want to talk about confident, look no further. I was the biggest Michael Jordan fan, growing up, but when I started boxing in college, and started watching and reading everything about Ali, oh man.

You're right. Kobe is Arrogant; MJ is humble. That is another HUGE difference in their character. Michael is so humble that he was very happy and self-secure to admit that he learned his signature Rock-A-Baby Dunk from another Tarheel senior player, Al Wood.

Kobe, on the other hand, is apparently too Arrogant to admit that he's learned anything from anyone else.

Part of the beauty of MJ's disclosure and admission of that is his grace and humility as a person. That's part of what makes MJ such a great guy. He's actually humble enough to very cheerfully and quickly admit that he learned what was probably his most memorable, original signature dunk from someone else less famous than he is.

That kind of sincere humility from a player as huge as MJ just makes him IMMORTAL! That kind of down to earth character just makes him infallible to his true fans.

You articulately well what i admired most in Jordan. Unlike Kobe, though it is very obvious that he copied almost all Michael Jordan moves, he is too hypocrite to admit that he is a big fan of Jordan. Instead he picked Magic Johnson( a great player too).

@keeponseeking a) why would he say he copied magic but not say he copied michael jordan?  i don't get what you're saying. b) michael jordan & kobe bryant were very different players. michael jordan was much quicker, more of a 1/2. kobe is more 2/3. c) you cannot simply "copy" a player's moves like he's a writer or a painter. if you could, everyone would be as great as kobe bryant.

That's too funny, man! I would have never guessed that! I always figured that was an MJ original. Al Wood rocked and most people have forgotten about him.

That is why Jordan will always be THE BEST EVER. He was the most skilled player to ever step on a basketball court, but he's also an amazing person, and I'll say it again, he really is a class act. A person young people could REALLY look up to, because of the person he was ON the court, but more importantly because of the person he was OFF the court.

That's why I love North Carolina and UNC basketball; there's so much pride in this area.
