No, Buddy Rich was the greatest. Bonham wasn't even close... no one was. And that's not an insult to Bonzo, whom I love. Buddy Rich was in a class all by himself and even before he died at age 69 he still was better than anyone else in history. I saw both play live many, many times. Led Zeppelin 6 times to be exact, and Rich, probably over 20 times.

You know we all start on small kits, some stick with it .. there are loads of great drummers out there especially from around this time who were all innovators so they had to look to do something different .. Pearts precision is quite possibly the best. Other great guys to check out ( look closely for small kit action ) Tommy Aldridge and Steve Smith - KEEP ROCKING DUDE !

The triplets alone was insane but to start doing all the fancy stuff he did with switching what way he hit the drums(Like in the end of the video) Thats crazy! I just learned how to do that and let me tell you it is not easy at all. John Henry Bonham is a God!

giving my personal opinion, this man is my greatest inspiration.

He just made everything seem so naturally into place and being a huge zeppelin fan, I have heard most of his work and just find it amazing.
