  • if it's generally assumed a guy who designes engine parts is morally superior to a guy who cleans toilets, then we live in sad times

  • @kickstimulation

That is why less than 2,000 people have viewed this video. God forbid people try to embrace new ways of doing things. The majority of people find this information to be boring or they don't ever see something like this happening.

we live in sad times indeed because it is also generally assumed that professionally athlete is economically and socially superior to a school teacher or fire fighter. How many teachers have you seen doing commercials about their kids success

  • @SparkSide

To be fair, the video is stashed at the ass-end of Youtube, and this information isn't very wide spread yet. Don't go accusing the majority of being lazy just because an important video doesn't get the exposure it probably deserves. That's just ignorant.

  • @TheWALOS

Alright thanks for enlightening me. So my next question when is this video going to be placed on the front end of youtube or where people can get easy access to it. To Keep such crucial info such as this on the ass end of youtube where it is difficult for people to get at is just ignorant.

  • @SparkSide

It's not Youtube's duty to place videos you believe to be important at the front of the line.

"Don't go accusing the majority of being lazy just because an important video doesn't get the exposure it probably deserves." [Quoted from The Walos Approximately 1 week ago]

I'm sorry walos I am confused now. It seems a week ago you were implying that this was an important video. Now today based on your comments it seems that you are saying that only I think it is important based upon the fact that it is not Youtube's duty to place videos I deem important.

  • @TheWALOS

Did you just contradict yourself, change your mind, or is it simply you did not agree with the material in the first place and chose to imply that I was being ignorant in saying that the masses are lazy and riddled with apathy when it comes to real solutions. It sounds to me like your are apart of the problem instead of the solution. Not gonna waste time going back and forth over absolutely nothing. Others like myself will make sure this gets out. You have wasted enuff my time.

  • @SparkSide

No, I believe it's an important video as well. I believe that these two people have very important things to say.

But, I'm not indignant against Youtube for not putting a link to it on their homepage, and I'm not indignant against the population for not viewing it more. How does that mean that I've contradicted myself? It just means that I acknowledge that the world doesn't revolve around my beliefs.

  • people should be rewarded for their effort and sacrifice, but capitalism rewards primarily for one's bargaining power - which doesn't reflect the effort or sacrifice involved in a given job.

It is indeed a dynamic system, but becuase markets and private property distort production priorities, the productive capacity is not composed of useful things - mostly obsolescent private goods, with a heavy bias towards luxury goods.

    Parecon's institutions are more desirable.

  • The only reason "Capitalism" (this current system) is unfair is that capital is also used as a method to either socialize a person's business costs or eliminate his/her competition by rigging politicians in his/her favor etc. In fact, such a system is not based on free exchange, a principle which both you & I support.

  • @billyysands No.

  • @billyysands I could explain exactly how wrong you are, but I think Oliver Stone will do it much better. Watch his movie Wall Street, the movie that birthed your Greed is Good ethos.

  • @billyysands

Sounds like justification for so many atrocities that have happened throughout history. The Trans-Atlantic Slave trade and the eradication of entire Native American tribes are just a few examples. All to justify one persons or one groups greed. How would you feel if you were the one enslaved/exploited would you agree with it then? I wonder?

  • Albert certainly is more inspiring than Schweickart.
