@soaring138 Is probably form 2001. Yamaha Pacifica in my opinion, is the best low price guitar I ever had. Neck is very comfortable to play. This is important for beginners because is hard to find some similar equpiment at this price. Yamaha Pacifica is good choice and step to pro palying.
@monroeallegro I have a question , I am a starter / complete newbie guitar player, but I can't really place my fingers on the fret fast enough and when I try to do it , I more likely slide my fingers on the fretboard . Also sometimes strings like get sticked to my fingers and another sound than the one intended comes out . What should I practice so I get better at it? Also I have the same guitar =) , I love it.
Get yourself an SX Telecaster guitar for $130. You guys are crazy if you spend $500. The SX is high quality, better sound than most anything out there.
Awesome guitar!!! Got it today as my first guitar, and i learned some chords and did a part of the intro of thunderstruck of AC/DC. I recommend this guitar to begginers!!! i hope it will last me and will bring me memories... Got a 30 Watt Amp for 111 Euros and the guitar for 149 Euros (Friend Discount) not includeing VAT refund... Its awesome!!!
@galletitamortal I have a 612v... which I love - but I have played the 112v before and as long as you have everything setup correctly and don't abuse it too much, it's not too bad. Better than any squier or mim strat (that will end up costing you more anyway).
I bought this guitar a short while ago as my first and have been trying to practice on it whenever I can. However, I don't know much about them but the first string buzzes when I pluck it anything more than gently. Is this something I can easily fix myself or is it a job for professionals? I know the truss rod can sometimes be adjusted but I know it's not to be messed with. Any help appreciated, thanks!
@MrBThatsMe it is easily fixed by a pro or by yourself if you know what you're doing. if it buzzes on all the frets then simple raise the action a bit on the side of that string. if it buzzes only on the first frets (up to the 5th) then you need to loosen a bit the truss rod.
@Wumbo20 i have them both, and i think the yamaha is a stronger guitar than the ibanez, i like to use it when i want to play metallica or sth like that, but i get the grg170 when i want to play solos and lead stuff
I have a 112x which was my first guitar and is ten years old now, but it is still a brilliant little thing. Can't get a better guitar for £200 than a Pacifica 112.
I got an 812v from Germany a few ago for under £400, which was amazing value for money.
Pacificas are utterly indestructible. They never, ever go wrong.
I want one of these...I just love the finish, I know it's just a replica strat but who cares, The more I read about the Yamaha pacifica the better it sounds, well made, I'm sure that some of these so called starter guitars are gig worthy and as good as the high end thing after all it's the wood and quality of pick ups that costs oh and the name on the headstock, aside from that it's just playing ability, and to the fact it's in a book I own alongside great high priced guitars tells you something
dude this guitar is awsome!!!! my first electric guitar it is so comfortable, I now have an epiphone silver burst but the pacifica 112 is right behind it.
@voodoo194 Can you get this guitar in blue left handed? and which is the version with of the yam pac with the coil tap? Well i've been wanting to get a yamaha pacifica, with the coil tap, blue, left handed for quite a while now and i was wondering do you know for one? Thnx
my friend has this guitar with same wood finish and it surprising plays and sounds nice when you play it. Good idea from Yamaha to have 2 single coils and a humbucker. They've done well with this one
How much is it?

Take it to someone who knows his job, You might break the truss rod if you don't know how to adjust it..
