  • metal gear is the one of my favorite games of all time., I love doing stealth missions.,I love the plot of the metal gear series.,good job! :D

  • that leader 7:35 min reminded me of MGS 3 SNAKE EATER AFTER U DEFEAT THE END lol

  • Once upon a time, there was a rookie call Solid Snake......

  • 1:20, I actually laughed out loud at this.

  • How'd you get MSX, the Japanese version, in English?

  • 4 people gave snake faulse information

  • 2:28

I'll bet you anything, Snake's saying to himself, "son of a bitch!"

  • heh interesting, after you beat the game in MGSC you get a bit from big boss saying not dead, and will get revenge.

  • I'm very confused. I know with 100% certainty that I fought Metal Gear (or SOME kind of robot) on the NES when I played it 20 something years ago. I never beat the boss. Right before you go into the room you receive a transmission about not knowing what can defeat the metal gear and that it might have some kind of Achilles heal. I remember it would run around the room. I kept placing mines, but it didn't kill the damn thing. Am I crazy? Was that another boss? Another game? :)

  • @N1COLA3

Could it be "Snake´s Revenge" which you have played?

  • @N1COLA3 i played the nes version some years ago, this had a "bug", something like a program mistake that appears when you get in the room of the super computer, just in the moment you get in, press the pad to the left and you will get to the room whit the big boss, in other way you can´t destroy the super computer even you shot it with the rocket launcher, or put on in all the plastic explosives you are carryng on

  • Woooooow Thank you very much

  • Haha, ik speelde dit op MSX2, Sony HitBit :)

  • everything started from this =)

  • MSX !!! i love ya.

  • This game seriously needs a remake! Come on, they remade MGS1! Why not this? MGS1 itself is like MGS4 compared to this.

  • @SolidusSnakeYDC Nah, just let them be how they are, if they remake them, it's just going to be a retcon fest.

  • would be cool fighting that metal gear

  • epic ending and awesome music

  • I love METAL GEAR. Even...

  • Big Boss is so "Boss", that he has to be defeated by a Freakin' missle launcher!!

  • Thank you for pressing the self destruct button. This base will explode in exactly 3000 miliseconds

  • hay day minh da biet duong de? de roi

  • And thus, the legend began...

  • Nes version doesn't even disserve to suck this version's "solid snake". Msx2!!!!!

  • TX55 tune somehow sounds better at 50hz :)

  • When you finish this game after peace walker, you realize you're just destroying what you built... Kojima is god!

  • they should make a remake of the original metal gear with new graphics

  • NES version sucks MSX rules!!

+ The ending theme is perfect if Konami make a remake I want this ending theme!

  • @bobscratch52 Metal Gear TX-55

  • The escape theme would make a badass metal cover

  • @kvpena watch?v=uuC3Xr2oEUY You're welcome.

  • I have this weird theory. Even though the metal gear saga has ended with mgs4 there seems to be one plot hole I found and it has to do with sokolov. The story never explained what happened to him after portable ops. Theres was another plot hole with the random mention of dr. Madnar in the act 3 briefing. Im hoping in rising they explain this but im starting to think sokolov is madnar in the MSX 2 metal gear. It doesnt seem like kojima to leave out even tiniest of details tell me wht u think

  • @MrIndiemusic101 that's really interesting actually. Sokolov mentions that he has a child in MGS3, and that could well be Madnar's daughter who is saved by Snake in Metal Gear on MSX... but in MGS4, the year is 2014, 50 years after MGS3 in which Sokolov is already a middle-aged man, making him over 100 years old in MGS4... I dunno what to think of it but you've raised an interesting theory mate.

  • @anth00000 I think it could be possible because wasnt madnar responsible for bringing back big boss in Metal gear 2 using his cybernetics technology. He also used it on himself I think in metal gear 2, and he used it on raiden.

  • @MrIndiemusic101 Sokolov was beaten to death in the torture room by Volgin. You hear it when ****Spoiler**** You get captured and you are listening with the bag over your head.

  • @skytop082 yeah I remember that but he comes back in mgs portable ops on the psp he helped develop the ICBMG metal gear in that game and helps big boss to destroy it

and in that game they never explain what happens to him at the end. Big boss returns home ocelot gets the other half of the legacy to start the patriots with zero. he just disappears after that

  • This really needs a remake! I hope Kojima remakes it like MGS4! There would be tonnes more dialogue and the plot would probably improved to be a better fit for the rest of the series. A lot more depth basically.

  • Wait, the camera shoot you forfive times the damage the turrets causes in Metal Gear Ghost Babel?! That's harsh!

  • how u know the order of putting explosives ?

  • @kohtianyi Dr. Petrovich tells you earlier on. It is in one of my videos somewhere.

  • what metal gear part is this

  • @etchosts Metal Gear The First

  • @etchosts The very first one.

  • How did you get to this stage of the game with only two stars? I thought you had to have a certain amount in order to have enough mines to beat the Tank.

  • @RadoxRedux That's easy. You can be up to 4 stars by the time you reach Coward Duck. I didn't see the other part, but perhaps he killed POW's along the way to reduce his ranking.

  • @iniche Yeah. I killed a bunch during the Coward Duck fight.

  • this game is just to fuckin complicated and ahead of its time !!

  • Where can I get this game? Other than the fancy shamnsy Metal Gear Solid 3. And preferably for free.

  • If memory serves, you can nuke the laser camera with remote control missiles...

  • #1- Does that also work in this specific game? I have doubts about that.

#2- Don't say "nuke". It makes you sound like you're talking about nuclear warheads.

  • @filipeflower03

#1 Well, it's been a while...I thought it was the case.

#2 Eh, nuke, blow, shoot, remove from operation...it's just a game, anyway.

  • Just say "blow up" then.

  • HEY WHAT EMULATOR DID YOU RECOMEND ME??

I DONT WANT THE NES VERSION CUZ I GOT STUCKED AND I WANT TO PLAY METAL GEAR 2

    please somebody

    (EXCEPT bluemsx)

  • @pablossjui So you wanted help with emulators for running this game... but you completely deny BlueMSX (the BEST emulator of MSX around)... yeah good luck getting any help there.

  • @iniche nah i use bluemxs

the thing is used bluemsx but don't know how to play (button configuration) and got stucked, wanted to use another to see if i can play it .....

anyway my problem now with bluemsx is that when i record video and then save it with a codec thing the video Suuuuucks...

    thx for the reply

  • @pablossjui Well, BlueMSX isn't very hard to use. I've made several videos with it, configured my controls well and I've also beaten both MSX Metal Gear games.

  • @iniche me too have beaten the games

only the video thing bothers me

damn ..... I GOTTA GET MY HAMMER

    lol

    XD

  • How good would that final battle be it was brought to modern times!

Big Boss going all pro CQC on your ass out of nowhere, no visual tricks or silly gimmicks. Just pure speed and skill, darting in and out of cover like in this, ready for anything you throw at him.

  • EVEN IN MSX AND NES TIMES METAL GEAR HAD GREAT AMBIANCE GOD THANKS FOR BRINGING HIDEO KOJIMA TO THE EARTH LOL

  • I feel the need to go pee after the metal gear blows up! like u r pressured by time!! god i LOVED THESE DAYS i was 7 YO probably watching dad and bro playing this!

  • why is big boss neurotic?

  • silly snake, cool guys dont look at explosions

  • Reminds me to Zelda

  • i would die after 1 missile

    oh noeees

  • on this days the games were done by three guys in a basement XD

  • @AyaxTelemonio Plenty of them were, but I am pretty sure most Konami games had an experienced, professional team behind each of their games, from concept to marketing. It was not a billion dollars entertainment industry yet, so of course it was still of a way smaller scale.

  • @oldskoolgamertje Actually this was Kojima's second game, the first one they rejected.

  • What's the use for ciggarette?

  • Big boss is a BOX CAMPING SONUVABITCH

  • How did I know big boss would be involved somehow?

  • @sandersonspartans62 You mean like a remake? That would be good.

  • So this is where it all started.

  • Id love to play this. I love the Metal Gear series so much.

  • @sened9 It's a fun game. Metal Gear fans would be pleased to play it.

Now, Metal Gear 2, however, is just fucking fantastic! It's on par with the "Solid" titles!

  • wow, big boss.. the legendary big boss.. yey

  • i hated having to find out what card key a door needed, i would have to go through everyone of them

  • @sandersonspartans62

You and me both. I would love to see Kojima-san make that happen.

  • why in NES is there not even a metal gear?! That doesn't make any sense!

  • @InShatteredMolds

NES version DOESN'T count on the REAL compilation of MG or MGS,and there is a sequel for NES version, which isn't a real compilation, too.

  • Ahhh where did my childhood go.

  • Wow, so you don't even actually fight the game's namesake. Talk about anti-climax.

  • 2 stars???? What did you do kill some POWs

  • Ok, is it just me, or is it time for this game to be redone for the newest generation? I love NES games, but damn if they still to this day don't confuse the hell out of me.

  • Do you have the retranslated ROM for the game? Nekura Hoka's geocities site is dead. I want the that translation badly, could you please send me ROM or IPS patch?

  • 2:44 what happens if you have no rations

  • simply HILARIOUS!!!!

  • well of course big boss lost, fucking idiot went for long range combat instead of using CQC, wich happens to be his GOD DAMN SPECIALTY! -_-

  • @hjnsf Simple: Hideo Kojima didn't give him CQC yet... duh

  • does it matter what latter you use

  • @YoungBossMajor

Yes, the other ones are dead ends.

  • @johnhassink the only way to know that is trail and error meaning you would have to lose one time

  • @YoungBossMajor

True. Typical example of a Konami wind-up. :-)

  • I just finished this game, and I love it. In the end of this game I had 4 stars and still had like 5 rations left. I think I also had all weapons and items in the end. This game is older than me and it's still better than some games now. However, I did use these videos to do the hard parts of the game but I must say that it's hard to beleive it was made in 1987.

I used BlueMSX emulator to play this game. It's a great program to play MSX games on.

  • No wonder Big Boss was such a feared commander... he set up rooms filled with laser cannons and gas traps that were absolutely impossible to bypass!

  • @GameMiestro I guess after Snake Eater Portable Ops and Peace Walker he said fuck this shit I need to get smart and set up some traps.

  • Comment removed

  • oh never mind misread..

  • i didn't see the 19th video of mg1 but i think you killed jennifer's brother

  • what why just rank 2 ? ^^

  • 8:51 I read "Hiroyuki Fuckyou" xD

  • 00:35 Aw damnit I waited to hear him say that but you didn't respond.

  • AUGH! Why do I feel like I've heard the credits song somewhere before? :(

  • is that metal gear?

  • @mgsfan24 lol yes you fan...

  • @mgsfan24 oh my god....

this IS from mr kojima you FAN.... you dont know what irony is do you?

  • @mgsfan24

    ur a fake fan

  • It's ironic how Kojima gets no credit in the NES version, yet it wouldn't have existed without him!

It's also ironic how the NES one is more popular than the MSX version!

  • The Big Boss I know and love wouldn't have died in 3 RPG shots... :(

  • Man am I glad the NES version didn't share the same soundtrack as the MSX version.

  • Both versions share some of the same music. Personally, I wouldn't have minded the basement theme in the NES port.

  • @myron73

Me too. NES sounds like shit.

  • I love playing the Escape song when I'm playing MGO

  • how would you know to blow up the wall or place 16 bombs on the metal gear

  • By talking to Doctor Petrovich Madnar, of course.

  • i like the music =D

  • can play the big boss battle song on guitar. fun stuff.

  • So this game is an updated version on metal gear on Nintendo? Because I remember metal gear being a big computer lol. Is this being played on metal gear solid 3 substance game disk? I hear both metal gear and metal gear 2: solid snake games are on mgs3 substance. They must have updated the games like mgs: twin snakes was an updated version of mgs for psx. Good job konami

  • Don't jump to conclusions, billy83. What you are watching here is 'Metal Gear', the original version of the game for the MSX2 Computer System. The N.E.S versions of 'Metal Gear' are non-canonical.

  • @filipeflower03 Well, technically speaking, there are no real differences story-wise between the MSX original and the NES port, and both tell almost the same tale, if only with extremelly bad english. The booklet for the NES version, though, is pretty much full with bull... so yeah.

Snake's Revenge is indeed non-canonical, though.

  • as the camera's don't shoot you when they're line of sight is blocked by metal gear could you not just run up and down to avoid the explosion and the cameras?

  • 1)eeemm sorry When did you go down 100 floors? O.o

2)6:12 You were tempted to smoke a cigar for relax... you don't? XD

    3) Fuck everything... big boss is dead... ¡TIME PARADOX! THAT'S A MADNESS!!!!

  • 1) Elevator ride before this video

    2) No, smoking the cigs give extra time to escape, not for relaxing.

    3) Big Boss doesn't die, he's merely knocked out. He even appears in Metal Gear 2. Therefore no time paradox occurs.

  • @zeromk5 Wait, getting hit in the face with a rocket and being caught in a mushroom cloud, and he's only unconscious?

  • That's Big Boss for ya.

  • para q mierda le pusieron 3 escaleras al final?

  • Big Boss survived after taking, like, ten missiles in his face? Wow, he really is a legendary soldier!

  • @aquapendulum Like a terninator

  • @aquapendulum dont forget hes in the next metal gear MG2 Solid Snake

oh and he also makes it into MGS4 >_>

Oh and also remember his body was inside of the base when it self destructed like a NUCLEAR FUCKING BOMB oh and he also survived from being torched by a areosol can and lighter >_>

Oh but somehow a good old heart attack puts him down for good O.o

  • @MegamanUltima It's deeper and more symbolic than just being a good old heart attack.

  • @iniche I know and like everyone else I cried and saluted big oss but Dieing from Foxdie seems a little....crazy if he only got KOed from things that should have vaporized him :S....

im saying it would be good if he and Snake had made up like in MGS4 but big Boss would live with him til both of their deaths from old age :s It would be more peaceful for someone who went through hell like that

  • @MegamanUltima If Big Boss lived, there would be no guarantee of freedom from the Patriots.

  • @iniche true but the only reason he died was because of the patriots...oh well what happened happened and it cant be changed

    R.I.P. Big Boss (1935-2014)

  • This game wins the MSX2.

  • Quien es este personaje , Big boss o Solid snake , es big boss no ?

  • snake hasta donde recuerdo

  • No, este es Solid Snake.

  • 7:06 lolwut?

  • wow this game shits on the one for nes

  • So that's the first nuclear equiped walking battle tank. Did it have a certain name or was it just called Metal Gear?

  • "Metal Gear TX-55".

The model in the sequel Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake is called "Metal Gear D". Google images has some nice pictures of the manual artwork if you search for these model names.

  • @oldskoolgamertje good hsit man..i play this game n 1988 when i was 11yrs didnt understand the game really or story n it was hard as hell..got too the end bud didnt got too open that big metal door where metal gear was at,,,,always wanted too see how it ends,,good game play

  • @oldskoolgamertje was the first proper metal gear Zeke

  • @oldskoolgamertje you don't fight tx-55 really do ya cos he's not done yet

  • @vrdragon12 Not necessarily. Conceptually speaking, the first was the Shagohod. But the first truly operational one was Metal Gear Zeke (Peace Walker). Why Big Boss replaced the fast, agile, and deadly Zeke with THIS metal gear only begs the question: When will they remake this?

  • Comment removed

  • @ronpaulsucketh Exactly, I see no reason why Big Boss would replace the fast, agile, deadly and LIGHT Zeke with the bulkier, more robust, much more suited for firing nukes TX-55!

  • Wow, "Naked Snake" sure is fast and can absorb a good rocket or two... :)

  • Nice Video Oldskool, I've been there plenty of times :)

  • It would be awsome if the made a remake of MG 1 and 2

  • yeah.. ive been thinking of that too

  • you mean kinda like the one on metal gear solid 3 substance?

  • its weird how u destroy big boss using missiles. o.o

  • You're a pro. Metal Gear Win!!1

  • lol solid snake the way I feel about you, no its nothing

  • Emulatations my friend!

Download BlueMSX, then Google an english translated Metal Gear ROM. Load the ROM into the BlueMSX emulation and enjoy!

I just beat the game a few seconds ago. Good to see Metal Gear was always awesome.

  • If the wii in japan can downlaod MSX games (which at the time, i think there are olny two) Why dont they bring MSX games to north america and have metal gear and metal gear 2 as downloadable games. I know most games are in japanese, and that probably why they havent brought it to the US, but they should. for metal gear.

  • The unofficial trastlation lacks the last message of Big Boss...

  • It wasnt added until MGS3SS, At first Kojima wasnt going to make another Metal Gear.

  • uh, a typo. "tra'n'stlation"...

No, even the official Europian version("MISION!" -_-...) has last message.

... Are you talking about FC/NES version?

  • It did? I thought that the MSX version, [The actual one. Not the Subsistence version] Never had that final codec of Big Boss. Cause Hideo never planned for a sequal.

  • They really need to remake this and MG2 for newest consoles :(

  • Comment removed

  • Comment removed

  • Yes they do.

  • That's exactly what I'm saying

  • Body Armor? A real man doesn't need body armor!

  • the graphics aint that bad... anyway, like old times... i think this is better than most psp games. can this be put in psp?

  • Comment removed

  • i made a video for you.

the quallity is not the best, but it works.

    watch my videos

  • Wait... When you're choosing an item, is that the fireball sound from Super Mario?

  • good ears im just starting to notice it

  • lol, it sounds a lot like it doesn't it...

  • nice :D
