  • should I buy this one or the PDP X7?

  • @Christiandres43 I depends on what u want--4 what its worth i would go with the PDP X7 which is a better looking/sounding kit in my opinion

  • @gmorton731 Thanks, I think I'm gonna choose that (:

  • Very nice--but I didnt know Chris Tucker played drums:)

  • 1:06 HE LOOKED AT ME

  • and thomas pridgen!

  • sounds AMAZING!!!

  • @richiethegent it wouldn't surprise me tho :P

  • I love Pro M, and Meridian Maple!

  • Ah, that refreshing feeling when a company doesn't make a half assed snare drum. Come on, a 7-ply, 10 lug, 14 X 5.5 maple snare drum? Fucking beautiful. Well done Mapex.

  • @XxStrongDrums1996xX um...hate to break it to ya but thats a black panther hes using. i have this kit with a panther and the panther is 10 lug 7 ply. the kit snare it 8 lug and not so good but great for a side snare :)

  • @CallumE245 I wasn't aware that this was a black panther, but the kit snare for the Meridian Maple is a 10 lug. At least that's what Mapex says on their website. The Meridian Birch is an 8 lug.

  • @XxStrongDrums1996xX it is a 10 lug, im looking at the wrong video lmao. i thought this was birch :P but the black panthers have seperate 20 seperate tension lugs. the maple snare had 10 bar lugs :P

  • @CallumE245 How does the Black Panther fare? How well does it resonate, and how much crack does it give for rimshots? Also, what model black panther is this?

  • @XxStrongDrums1996xX well if you check out any of my newer videos its tuned nicely. mines an older model. it has more rounded tension lugs and die-cast hoops. the new ones have normal hoops but theyre fantastci snares!! this is probably a new one :L

  • @HardRocK96G1 The other day I gigged at a festival with my Mapex M, and the band that opened for us used a Tama Hyperdrive. According to the sound guys, mine was alot easier to mic up and sounded the best. I personally haven't been all too impressed with the hyperdrive, I've played a few of the kits and they really didn't perform as well as I'd hoped. If you're going to go Tama though, please look at the Silverstar first... They sound alot better than Hyperdrives in my opinion...

    Mapex M rules!

  • However that is my opinion... Let your ears decide. :)

  • are his tom mounts coming of the kick drum?

  • @MrDubSphere Yes they are.

  • Excellent drumming. A very skilled open hand style.

  • @HardRocK96G1. Try Rockemmusic.co.uk, theyre based in Rotherham, England. They don't do a 6 pce maple kit fro what i can see. The configuration I looked at was the LA Fusion set with a 20x22, 10x7,12x8, 16x6,14x5.5 at £612.00. There is a Meridian Birch set in 6 pce confg. As above but with additional 14x14 floor at £678.00. Both with undrilled BD but there is a mixture of kits with undrilled and drilled and different tom sizes etc.

  • @HardRocK96g1. Hyperdrive is a birch kit, are you looking at the merdian birch or maple? Personally id go for the Mapex. In England where im from a 6 piece mapex would cost £600-£700 depending on store (20x22, 10x7, 12x8, 14x14, 16x16, 14x5). The Hyperdrive with similar configuration would cost £800-850 both with hardware. Personally I like the look of the Mapex better as I dont like the lugs on the Tama. The Tama snare may just edge the Mapex but all in all the mapex does it for me.But try 1st!

  • @HardRocK96G1 go for the mapex, alot more musical i think i was between the pdp m5, tama silvers and mapex m maple

  • can you make a semi pro drum kit into a pro drum kit plz reply ;c

  • get whatever kit u like or whatever kit talks to you or relates your message the best

  • dude is crushin on this kit

  • does this have any production effects on it or does the meridian just sound that good

  • what heads are they on that kit?

  • This guy is cool, but I'm a little over this style of playing/jamming. He'll keep a groove for maybe one to three bars, then go off into some wild solo-ish fill that often has no relation to the quarter note pulse he had set up. I would have enjoyed a lot more timekeeping on this.

  • he has got the groove down :P

  • I wanna the purple Drum set!!!!!!!

  • the whole kit sounds amazing.

  • Mapex, the drums of gods, and demons alike. :)

  • he was just okk... :)

  • ima learn that foot technic yes or yes

  • @richiethegent lol, Will Ferrell also plays drums, and Tom Cruise plays bass :D

  • @MemoryResidesInDeath funny you should say that. I've always said that Red Hot Chili Pepper's drummer looks a lot lik Will Ferrell.! lol

  • eargasm

  • its amazing how pro he is

  • what kind of ride and crashes are those

  • He should be wearing a helmet!

  • shall i buy this ??

  • @Joxxa25 I HAS ONE. IT ARE FUCKING AWESOME. BUY ETTT.

  • Would be a great vid if mapex was a cymbal company. I was hoping to hear more of the toms on the vid and less cymbals

  • Awesome sounding kid. And awesome player.

  • he looks like the child of will smith and tony royster jr

  • @moleboythedrummer100 is that cuz "they all look the same"?! lol

  • would anyone be able to give me an english website which i could get one of these with a free floor tom or 2 floor toms inc in the price

  • what kind of cymbals are those?

  • @eagle555557 Paiste

  • 0 dislikes the way it should Be!!!

  • Angry black man snare at 1:05

  • is that the midnight steel finish?

  • what snare head is he using?

  • I love the faces that black guys make while their drummin

  • Very nice

  • Das werde sehr gut, Mapex Fuer das Gewinnen!

  • love how the set sounds Mapex never disapoints me but hate how the cymbals sound

  • why the snare wires sound more when i hit the 14 floor tom and not the 10 tom??

  • @lank880 because the low end bass frequencies have a longer wave and exert more power causing vibrations, this is also because bass frequencies can travel in any direction so it wont need to be directly infront of the snare to do it. Practical demo... but your snare by a sub

  • noise...

  • thats the most basic footwork there is. hes just using the toe and sliding techniques. how is that a level of its own if a bunch of drummers already use it? rashids got some major chops and groove! mad respect!

  • @soundmind529 i think they were maybe referring to his foot speed..tho you can see more of it on other videos

  • wow! you play really good!!

i tried this set yesterday and i really liked it.

whats inside of your base drum?

  • I think that using EMAD on bd while sound presentation is a bit like cheating

  • well it was a good grove.....

  • amazing

  • what kind of cymbals???

  • @snareboi91 - PAISTE , mostly Paiste Twenty series ! he is playing Zildjian now , Ks and Ks Hybrid !

  • wonder what heads he's using...

  • @greydee07 all evans...... Emad on the kick. Power center reverse dot on the snare. G2 clears on the toms......

  • birch sounds a lot better

  • nice skill and attitude. i have chat with him in FB, he is humble drummer

  • he's badass!

  • his foot work is of a level of its own

  • THIS IS HOT!!!! Damn this dude's got some siiiiiick chops!!!!!!!!

  • dear mapex company !!

I'm one of your A-level endorsees!!

    I have a question:

  • @joegritschacher Add click in the mix

  • 1:07 did you fuckin hear that shit?!

  • that snare drum gives me orgasmic feeling in my ears :D

  • @craigwwe4 Well said, just make sure you don't cum on the snare! :D

  • @craigwwe4 I HAS IT!!! HAHA

  • @craigwwe4 Apparently it does to him too @ 0:18

  • this sounds like a young Dennis Chambers. The drum set is Dennis C. sound!

  • I'm saving for a HZB with Paiste pst5's and a mpx snare. But I'll have a meridian maple one hopefully!!

  • i love my Mapex meridian maple, i dont think i would be this happy with my set if i had gotten another brand......MAPEX RULE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Dope... Sounds good!

  • if they really sounds like this i buy it.i mean right now...

  • @alucard0712 they almost sound like this. you have to take into factor the eq that was applied.

  • @heavymetal6893 true, but I've seen a few videos of these drums that were just recorded off a room mic, and they still sound absolutely amazing pre-EQ as well! I'm hoping to sell my set now in order to purchase this one haha.

  • He is such a beast.
