  • i agree with @mfergy52 the course is extremly tough, but fair nonetheless. if your hitting youre driver in the fairway or hitting greens its a moderately challenging course. but if youre in the rough, especially greenside, or in fairway bunkers the course will eat you alive. i played it just yesterday and shot 81 from the back tees. (im about a 5 - 6 handicap) i played just about as well as i have all year. was a great experience and cant wait to do it again

  • Yes and no. If you can hit fairways and greens it's not that bad. The greens are pretty easy to putt. But if you are wayward, the length of the course will devour you and if you find yourself in bunkers and deep rough all day you'll shoot 20 strokes over your handicap. It's as tough as they say, but more fair than everyone thinks.

  • Is the Black really as tough as they say it is?

  • @BlitzinLB27 I played it yesterday for the third time and i shot a legit 91 but i also have like a 13 handicap. The par 5's are surprisingly short and with a good drive it is very possible to reach in 2. The greens are realatively flat but that rough will have you begging for a mulligan. Unless youre a scratch golfer, you are not going to want to play aggressively. On those par 5's especially the fourth hole, I found it to be better to just punch up as much as possible.and play it safe.
